Started watching your reactions a few weeks ago and wasn't expecting to stumble upon myself! Thanks for the reaction!

"The person voicing Sayori is a pretty solid voice actor" Well the song is originally a musical from random encounters, The Minecraft version is just a fan work that got more popular since it was turned into well minecraft. Considering that kinda weird choice not reacting to MMD version of Dok doki forever since the animation is just soo brilliant.

You should definitely play the game. You'd love it, definitely right up your street. I mean, you've had... everything spoiled... but it's still really fun!

In case anyone here doesn't know. the original "Just Monika" music video is a live action made by random encounters. I know Monika was voiced by Or3O(Who Mathew REALLY should react to) and Natsuki if i'm not mistaken was voiced by Adriasaurus.

If the music soundtrack "Your reality" is so chill and good vibe, it's because it's an apology song from Monika, for all the horrible things she's done to us and her friends. So she's also apologising for all the traumatizing things you witnessed xD

Your Reality plays at the end of the game while the credits are going. That's why it's so sweet, it's supposed to calm you down after going through all that stuff. (Monika actually sings the song too!)

A warning to ya, don't play the game when in a bad state of mind. I played the game when I was in a pretty dark place and let's just say it had an effect on me that only made my mental state plunge. The game is a psychological horror and it's one of the best out there, but that also means it can affect people very differently. Just a fair warning before you jump into that game.

DDLC presents itself as a normal dating sim but at the start it says “this game is not suitable for children or people who are easily disturbed. Please click “OK” to verify you are over the age of 13” The game slowly morphs into a horror game with Monika, the club president, being the main “villain” The plot for DDLC is basically that Sayori, your childhood friend, drags you to her club, the literature club, and you meet a bunch of girls. You start writing poems trying to impress any 1 of the 4 members, but Monika always seems a bit left out. You can’t choose to help her in the festival, nor are you able to make your poems appeal to her. The poems you read from every character eventually gives more info on them and their… troubles. Yuri’s first hints are in a poem where she writes about feeding a raccoon, but she almost puts too much detail in the way she cuts the bread, and repeats the phrase “brandishing my knife” multiple times, this is hinting to how she likes knifes, and gets a certain kind of high from cutting herself. Yuri dies by committing suicide, more so stabbing herself multiple times in both the stomach and the chest, after confessing to you and being deleted after. Sayori’s first hints are in a poem where she talks about giving away little bottles of happiness, but leaving almost none for herself. This clearly shows how she try’s to make everyone around her happy, and in doing so leading her to depression, and eventually suicide, by hanging herself in her bedroom. Sayori is deleted after the game restarts, ending the first play through with you walking into her bedroom and finding her. Natsuki doesn’t really do much wrong though, nor do we see her mention anything in her poems. She’s overly dramatic and rude, and likes to write about more sad things in a cutesy manner. The most we hear from her about her own life is in the second play through, out of 3, where she says “my dad would kill me if he knew about this” as well as when she shuts down after not having enough food or energy to stay awake. This is clearly hinting to how her dad abuses and starves her. She is more of a vessel to help Monika stray you, the player, away from other characters. Mentioning how herself and Yuri “aren’t good enough” for you, and how you should hang out with Monika more. She never really dies, she actually gets deleted after running off screen, from throwing up at the sight of Yuri’s dead body. Monika’s first hints are in a poem where she talks about looking outside through a “window”, and seeing a young boy. This obviously hints at how she is self aware. Monika continues to talk to the player directly and begins breaking the fourth wall, more and more often. After all the characters are dead, and deleted, she casually explains… while eating a cupcake, that she had become so obsessed with you as a person, instead of the character you’re playing, that she figured out how to kill off the characters and delete them. She also mentions how at first she tried just convincing you to pay more attention to her, but not being able to break through the original code, which prevents you from being able to grow closer to her. One of her poems even crashes the game for a split second, and people suspect she tried to write code as the poem. The second play through ends with you and Monika talking about random things in an empty classroom, seemingly floating in an endless void. In order to get to the end of this stage of talking endlessly, you have to go into the character files and delete her file. Monika then decides that she was too selfish and instead lets you play through one more round, bringing back all the characters but leaving herself out. You play through the first day as if it were the first play through, the only change being that Sayori had the title of president of the literature club. But, in inheriting the title of president, she herself becomes self aware, and pulls you back at the end of the first day to tell you. She says that she knows what had happened to herself and all the other members, including how you had deleted Monika. She spirals down the same path of obsession that Monika did. Monika suddenly appears in front of the screen and claims that it would be better off if the entire club didn’t exist, clearly realizing that anyone who becomes president will also become self aware. The game ends with the entire game being deleted, ending with the first voice lines you ever hear. Monika saying: “C-Can you...can you hear me? Uh...can you hear me? Uh, can you hear me? Hi, it's me Um... So you know how I've been like, practicing piano and stuff? I'm not really any good at it yet, like, at all But I wrote you a song and I was kinda hoping that I could show it to you because I worked really, really hard on it So...yeah!” She then proceeds to sing a song about wanting to be with you forever, and not knowing wether she loves you enough to just let you be, trading out her happiness for yours. Lyrics: Every day, I imagine a future where I can be with you In my hand is a pen that will write a poem of me and you The ink flows down into a dark puddle Just move your hand, write the way into his heart But in this world of infinite choices What will it take just to find that special day? What will it take just to find that special day? Have I found everybody a fun assignment to do today? When you're here, everything that we do is fun for them anyway When I can't even read my own feelings What good are words when a smile says it all? And if this world won't write me an ending What will it take just for me to have it all? Does my pen only write bitter words for those who are dear to me? Is it love if I take you, or is it love if I set you free? The ink flows down into a dark puddle How can I write love into reality? If I can't hear the sound of your heartbeat What do you call love in your reality? And in your reality, if I don't know how to love you I'll leave you be So, in conclusion, we can tell that Dan Salvato is a genius and that this game is scarring 😀 Edit: I didn’t realize I knew this game well enough to review the entire game, including a small fan theory

Haha, the trauma from going into this with no context is great. The vocalist in the second song that was doing Monika's voice that you kept talking about is called Or3o, she's crazy talented. The whole Random Encounters crew from the second song is, but I think Or3o was the one you kept asking about.

I recommend reacting to more Random Encounters things, they are the ones who made Just Monika. And the singer of Monika is Or3o and she was also Monika in Doki Doki Forever! I’m glad you’re looking into other fandoms 😌✨

Yeah I'm sure it's clear at this point, but Doki Doki Literature Club is a psychological horror game disguised as a visual novel dating simulator. It's great.

Here's a suggestion for a game to listen to, the game is called Subnautica and I personally like (almost) all of the fan songs that came out of it. The in-game music was really good and the story is one of the more interesting ones I've ever seen (the second story kinda flopped after being changed but everything else is good)

the minecraft music video you watched isn't just voice acting the original song is by random encounters and features actual people playing the characters! and there's actually a cool animated video for Doki Doki forever too

Every time, DDLC gives me chills, or I guess you could say it makes my heart beat. It's a shame that he's going to play DDLC while knowing about the game. In my opinion the game is best played without knowing anything about it and I can confirm that It's scarred me for life. Good job btw. It's good to know that you're making amazing content.

I just saw you reacted to the artist Mitski a couple months back. You should check out some of her other stuff too! I really like I don't smoke and Drunk walk home which you should totally check out in another video. (pls listen to more Mitski I love her so much and your reactions are always really entertaining) She quit making music and touring a couple years back, saying "its time to be a human again" so if you want to listen to her entire discography in your own time you don't need to worry about catching up before she puts any new stuff out lol. to end off this comment here's a not so fun fact: When she was writing Nobody she was having a mental breakdown, the repetitive "nobody"s was her scribbling the word over and over in a frantically upset state of mind. :(

I love how you listened to the most peaceful one at the end and was afraid that it was gonna be like others. The OST of the game itself is quite nice, tho. Anyway, DDLC time. The game is a horror-dating simulator type of thing. You have three options, Natsuki, Yuri, and Sayori. Monika is supposed to be a side character. Monika becomes self-aware and tries to get rid of the other girls, by messing around with their files, which causes their weird behaviour. That's basically it, without too many spoilers.

Bro, you MUST listen to NSR music! I recommend listening to all the EDM versions of each of the 6 songs. The game is pretty obscure, so many of your fans would also get to learn about its existence. I think you'd love it!

I'd say the second song is the one that gives a bit more of a clear indication of what happens in game.

The one with the amazing vocals was or3o! She has original songs that would be worth checking out. The original songs are all connected to each other in some way, and have nice stories packed in them, so I would recommend watching them all in one video :).

Lemme explain the plot in a simple way: It’s a typical dating sim but Moinika happens to be aware that they’re in a video game AND happens to fall in love with the player (aka you) so she kills all the other girls so it’s just her.

THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD. Listening to fan made music and just memorizing it
