Ironically, the vice cop who confessed about killing the hookers denied killing the victim that "mattered". Because he wanted to be accurate. Fortunately, Benson and Stabler were at the home of a another suspect's parents. Funny how the shoeprint for a very expensive pair of shoes turned out to match.

I can tell you why Munch figured this out- if you've seen Homicide LotS you'd know he had along history of being a conspiracy theorist. He didn't inherently trust ANYONE OR ANY GROUP unless they earned his trust first. Things like the blue wall weren't even a consideration for him. Matter of fact there was one criminal in the Homicide days that was killed by a vigilante- they either dropped hints that Munch was the one or was at least willing to take credit for it.

@@dreyfrano968it was like that with Jeffrey Dahmer. This guy killed so many men and yet nothing was done about it. Most likely because all the victims were poor, gay men. It took one man to punch Dahmer, run out to the street, stark naked, still in handcuffs, to find 2 cops and tell them that he was being held captive by a crazy man, and then leading them back to the nightmare apartment in order for Dahmer to be arrested. One of the cops still can’t even look inside a fridge after he saw the severed head that was in there. The same thing also happened with John Wayne Gacy.
