He already tried the Head Prestige MPL, which is a lighter one and a slightly bigger headsize, but he didnt like it.

Its exactly the same racket they have been using since 15. They get paid to have a different paint job. Even on the racket package when you are buying it has in fine print *players may be using not exact racket "
@PF9O
@PF9O 22 дня назад
@@Creees some pros do use exactly the stock that’s on the market, some modify stock with lead, some have full custom. This is completely new racket for Andy. Not a paint job. It’s a Yonex not a Head. Much more modern frame compared to the Radicals.

The e-zone is a weapon in the right hands. A modern racket that takes some time to get used to. Unrelated: Is Naomi taller than Broady?

Head didn't renew his contract so he was free to look further afield, Johnny O'Mara got him to try Yonex who sponsor him and I guess he ended up liking the ezone

@@sjjapp could be! Yonex rackets are probably the most powerful rackets production-wise.
@sjjapp
@sjjapp 22 дня назад
@@EasyBreezy41 not sure what you mean by that. People often refer to Yonex rackets as having the best quality control among retail rackets. Is that what you're referring to? That wouldn't make a difference for Murray there as he measured all the rackets himself. Yonex quality control only matters when you're just relying on stock retail rackets being somewhat close to the specs they advertised, as in with Yonex you have slightly higher odds of getting that. An Ezone 100 is essentially a different play on the Pure Drive formula. Trades a little force per gram so to speak for a little more directional control and more control over flatter shots as well. The Pure Drive has a little extra ease of spin access. Rackets go like that. Pull one way, another stat goes the other way. It's an interesting choice with his play style including tactics and swing mechanics. I wouldn't have thought he'd have gone with that one to be honest but he must have found some good data with his hits with that racket. I guess out of all the modern spin 100s, it's the one that should suit him the best because it rather surprisingly handles flatter through court shots quite well, with Murray hardly being a Ruud (who also uses an Ezone 100, but in a very different setup) with the spin and height, especially off the backhand. Yet it should offer some more forgiveness that I could definitely see helping him if he can get used to it. Would be great to see him finish his career on better terms.

Andy you’ve had a great career but it is now time to hang up the racket, not just for your legacy but more importantly your health. Go and enjoy being a full time husband and father whilst your kids are young trust me time flies by and you will regret trying to hang onto the glory days and missing the time with your family.
@Creees
@Creees 22 дня назад
Disagree. Play as long as you can. People quickly forget your legacy anyway so enjoy it at the time. Your retired a long time as a professional athlete. Just keep playing as long as you can. Why would you have an expesnive painful surgery and rehab just to retire anyway. ON THAT NOTE DO NOT HAVE AURGERIES

@PF9O 22 дня назад
@@alexlackner1945 I recommend trying the Ezone, it’s like what you described with the PDrive. Definitely one the most power friendly sticks I’ve tried, had to string it almost 6 pounds more than previous rackets to tame it!
@alexlackner1945
@alexlackner1945 22 дня назад
@@PF9O yeah that was my issue with the Pure Drive, i also had to string it quite hard. Used quite thin full poly strings for a while which produced too much spin and hurt my shoulder in the long run. Unfortunately the combination of gut and poly wasn't really known back then, that would've been a better setup.
