Today I will take a break from other projects to pop in some much needed annuals. Coleus is the name of the game. Journey with me as I add several coleus and begonias to areas begging for some color. Email: moxiegardens20@gmail.com
“Too many irons in the fire”, that’s the life of a passionate gardener. You are an amazing man and gardener so cut yourself some slack. Your garden of paradise speaks wonders of amazement, talent and serenity for the soul. Take this to heart, someone once told me …..and this was a very experienced Gardner talking of over 20 years….. speaking to me as a rookie years ago and they said “a gardener without projects is a gardener without vision”. A garden should never end. Love your channel. Enjoy the holiday weekend and don’t work, relax and reflect.
I've been dying to see how your garden is coming along now that everything is waking up! 🤩 Thank you for sharing so much beauty!! That image @ 2:05 with that gorgeous tree just gave me all the feels! 😁🌺💕🌿 Just stunning. Those pots you've placed are super cool too. They look great even empty. Just architectural. Love your garden, your creativity, your talent for color and texture, you're an artist at heart whether you know it or not 🙂 Thank you for braving the trolls that are out there.. it can't be easy.. But rest assured all your content and sharing is very much appreciated by all others. You inspire and we can relate to you. Hope you enjoy your weekend. May your garden bring you joy and peace 🌿🌺
What a view through that moon gate. The mop head juniper is in the perfect spot showing off. Love your garden. Never cared for coleus until your videos. Getting some today to fill in dark spots in mine. Thank you 😊
South Florida zone 10b here. My gardening is so pathetic this year, the heat and no rain is just killing us. The front yard is flourishing with colorful annuals, vinca especially. But the back yard makes me want to cry! Its a pleasure to see some of you guys having great success! 👍 keep your videos coming. ❤
We just arrived in Orlando yesterday morning and it was absolutely pouring rain, so I hope that helped. We could definitely see that the land needs a drink. Thank you for watching.
Your garden looks amazing! Love to watch the evolving of what was, the shifting and changing. Ppl don’t have the vision whilst you’re creating, most love watching the evolution. Then there’s the healthy that all of a sudden die. Life 🤦🏼♀️. You and your wife project the love. ✨💖✨
Hello there hands down you have one of the best Garden on RU-vid I can imagine that you live in Canada!!!! But I think not. I dream of a garden like that I don’t have the space I don’t have the straight but I love looking at your garden it’s magical❤❤❤
I love love your garden💕💕💕 your flower choices are awesome❤️ I am an old lady gardener but I have sons your age and I keep telling them about your garden🥰
I’m hooked working on what we call our front yard to have a look similar to your backyard. Slow process $$ and getting hubby totally on board. We have a 90 pound plus Golden who enjoys removing flowers or laying on top of them. Zone 6a in PA. Focus is adding conifers this year. Thank you for sharing your lovely garden.
I absolutely love to walk through your garden with you. You have such a natural flair to putting things together. I look forward to seeing what you have posted. Stop apologizing for “rambling on” because that is what we enjoy sharing with you. Your enthusiasm comes through. Thanks for sharing your successes and your failures. Your garden is beautiful!
We live in London Ontario Canada we are also 2 weeks ahead hoping our Hydrangeas bloom on old growth this year! Your Gardens are such an inspiration for us for we think a like! Texture Color and whimsy is so important with us! When people compliment when walking by our yard it is the 🥇for us for it makes them happy and so are we! So thank you so much miss you when you are not sharing! Look forward to your videos so much!❤️🌺
Really appreciate your comment/info on the Annabel Hydrangea. This year, mine is finally looking nice with blooms. It might be the abundant and consistent rain. I will keep that in mind for the future.
Love it - every bit! The moon gate is such a Fab element! I love Coleus too & will purchase or propagate in larger numbers. The aqua pot collection with a powdery finish is popping! Great job! Go! Lighting project? Oh my gosh; I'll have to check that out! Greetings from Virginia Beach, Virginia where I garden and teach on my property along a salt marsh. 😊
I look forward to all of your posts and yes you have influenced me to rusty. I am now obsessed with it. Thank you I think? Zone 5b now zone 6 one hour south of Buffalo NY with night temps in the mid 40's and day in the high 50's last week. Next week in the 80's, so go figure. 😀
You have my enthusiasm about gardening! I wish we were neighbors! I live in Harvest AL, outside Huntsville and have been battling clay soil and unfortunately full HOT sun. Prior to moving here from the northeast I had lush shade gardens. It is definitely a different type of gardening; however if you were able to take a bare backyard and turn it into the Garden of Eden, then there is hope for me. Keep up the great work ❤
It’s planting time now in Colorado. Finally okay to add to perennial beds and some pots. Love your narrating and thought process that you share. It’s always inspiring to me. Keep it up and can’t wait to see it all unfold!
I am in North Texas zone, they say now 8b. My last freeze date is March 12. My irises are long gone, but they were beautiful. We have had good rain this spring which is unusual. My garden is doing great. You do a wonderful job. I am mostly a self taught gardener also, although i have taken the Texas Master Gardener classes.❤
Thank you!! As always I love seeing your garden. It has given me great inspiration. Don’t mind that nay sayers. Any project you do is worth posting. You never know who it may help. Thanks again!!
outstanding!!!! you have curated such a great space. Tune out those nay-sayers. i applaud you. i could never do this with my gardens. i don't have thick skin. The criticism stays with me too long after. Then i feel bad about something meant to make me feel good. I literally had a woman tell me i was making gardening a competition on a FB group by edging my garden beds in March....lol....So I wont post anymore. I sooooooooo enjoy seeing your gardens. they are gorgeous. Keep posting!
Definitely took me some time to just walk away from the criticism. I just want to share a garden and hope it inspires someone. So when it comes across the screen, I smile and keep on, keeping on. Thank you for watching.
So happy to get a new video on my birthday!! The garden is so lush. I never planted coleus in my garden but when I saw the beautiful colors and foliage in your garden last year I decided to plant some in containers. They were so full and colorful, I already have planted some this year. The anticipation is killing me on your next project 🙂
Hi Mike I just love coleous I have been adding them since I saw yours last yr,those begonias really add a wonderful color and texture through the pathway love the grouping and color under what I call " the truffela tree"😆nod to Dr.Seuse.Everything is looking beautiful and I love how you are putting pots in spots something i have been doing this yr too.Have a wonderful weekend to you and yours.🕊️💚🇺🇲
You have created an amazing garden! Many trained garden designers could be inspired by your use of textures, color, hardscapes, etc. My 8a zone has had a lot of rain, now the humidity and mosquitoes. Gardens are ahead of schedule though. My hydrangeas are blooming, finally, after temps damaged buds the past 2 years. LOL, your co-worker's recognition...💚🌳
Can’t wait to see the secret project!!! The garden is looking absolutely gorgeous 😂and I like it when you get off track - much prefer that makes for a longer video👍
I love your beautiful garden. I can't wait to see the new project! Wish I was closer to see it in person. Massachusetts, zone 5 A or B, not sure which one now. lol
Thanks for sharing! I enjoy your rambling on, I would never mute it. In fact I don't like the garden videos that just play music. I want to hear, whys and hows. The spot where the ajuga is overwhelming the heuchera is beautiful. The colors blend great. Can't wait to see how the mass plantings of annuals look in a few weeks.
First time watching! Your garden is lovely. The hardscape is beautiful, and doesn’t compete with the plants. I am in Florida, 9b. We had a nice spring as well. Our “winter,” will be here soon. The hot, wet summer drowns many things. We spend the time editing and planning
I love the privacy that you've added to your outdoor living space. Unfortunately, privacy is lacking in many areas of our lives and gardens, I can't wait to see how you address the overviewed area from your neighbor's new patio. I love all the whimsy you've added to your outdoor living space. 🦋🐞🐝🪴🤗
At the beginning of the video, I shared with you that I was raking away the top layer of mulch and placing it in other areas of the garden. Once I drill the holes, any small pieces of mulch will go back into the earth with the soil.Thank you for watching.
Was so excited to see a video!! It's just absolutely stunning, all of it! Hoping you'll announce when your in person tour will be. Looking forward to seeing it in person!!
Thank you for the kind words. I have not set any certain date. I have however opened the garden for anyone who wants to come by. I have placed my email in the description. Feel free to shoot me a message. Thank you for watching.
I've watched you since your beginning videos. Your garden is wonderful. Love how you've packed so many different plants & trees in. That's my goal now. I just have one innocent comment. When you talk, could you slow down a bit.
Oh my gosh!!!! I e been waiting! We are going camping for the first time in our new camper. 🙏🏼 😳 haha so if my hubby Matt and I don’t divorce by the time we park it and hook up, I’m watching this for the first video when we sit by the fire and “camp”!!! Can’t wait
Gardening is calming, but hard work. So glad to see a new video. I enjoy yours so much. I'm in SC. Rain about every day. The garden is overgrown. I've got plants to get in the ground, but we've been working on the veggie garden. Built an arbor with gates, fenced it, painting garden boxes, and arbor between rain drops. I planted many mosquitoe repellant plants throughout. It seems to help. My husband bought a mosquitoe fogger also.
Your garden looks lovely! Every nook and cranny holds another surprise. I have found that CITRONELLA SOAP is an excellent mosquito repellant. i just lather up a bar and rub the suds on any exposed skin. It does not feel sticky or smell bad. Works great (as long as I remember to use it). Purchased it from a soapmaker where the skeeters are BIG. Zone 6a NE OH
To add to my comment below, without begonias and coleus, I would not have nearly the color in my garden . I depend heavily on coleus and begonias. My garden is mostly shade and I have everything on drip due to the severe heat, rocky and shallow soil depth, and sporadic rain in central Texas. It is a very, very challenging area in which to garden......
At the end of your video, at about 29:00, would you please share with me the name of the variegated shrub near the walkway? It is a lovely contrast there. Thanks...enjoyed your video and understand your enthusiasm for gardening!
I love your gardens and your designs! just beautiful, have you checked out a sun king aralia, those are pretty neat. i never knew about them until 2 years ago. wow wow pop pop. thanks for sharing, always always enjoy. Genie : )
Thank you for watching. The Aralia looks so nice. I have not tried introducing one to the landscape.. yet! Just might have to. It certainly would be a nice pop of color for sure. Thank you.
Just at the very end of this video..I notice a chartreuse tree. Is that the tiger sumac ? I’m learning as a new gardener. I wish you are my neighbour so you can teach me😀
Earlier this year we bought a redbud stick from Aldi. As we're going down the aisle, a woman made fun of our stick. We put it in water on the deck for 2 months cause we were too busy with other projects to plant it. One day we noticed 3 tiny leaves emerging on that stick. We planted it and it's still alive. Hoping for color next spring.
Hey there! I was the one who told you I’m from Illinois and my daughter lives near you and you said I could come for a tour. If you’re still willing to let us do that I’m not sure how I could get in touch with you to do that. If you’re no longer up for that it’s fine but if you are willing I would love to see your garden in person! Deanna
We fill them with fresh water when we are out in the garden. We use little grill brush to clean them out about once a week. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching.
