I once met Les Dawson at Manchester airport, we were waiting for a ✈️ to Jersey, and there was only 5 people in the departure lounge. Les got a pot of tea, and 5 cups, and came and sat with me and my parents and offered us all a brew unannounced. My dad at the time, was a massive fan. ❤

I remember watching this back in the day and now as I watch it again the main thing that crosses my mind is just how many of the celebs shown are now dead or were revealed to be complete sex perverts. How things change.
Hall is the only one that I am aware of too, it was more comedic effect, as looking back at stuff from that age conjures up the stories which later came to light. Sadly, a good many of them are dead though.

I remember the Beeb promoting all hell out of this like it was the superbowl of incestuous hierarchy. But I met Stuart Hall as a press event for the launch of national and sonic at the Olympics on the wii. After its a knockout was cancelled, he bought all the props and rented them out to parties and press events.
As for the whole De Burgh and Rice thing, I imagine it involving something to do with building a monkey enclosure in a weekend for Romanian orphans on Stars in their Eyes.
In answer to your question, I'd imagine Christopher De Burgh to be a somewhat considerate, tender lover... He'd be gentle with Ms. Rice and, by some supernatural miracle of nature, he'd be able to incorporate the hirsute area above his eye-holes (eyebrows) to somehow enhance the love-making experience to well in excess of the levels of acceptable tolerance and achieve ultimate 'fulfilment.'

Was it not Peter Blake the actor (Kirk St Moritz) and not the Sgt Pepper artist ? I'm sure I heard on a podcast there was an error in the booking and the actor had no idea why he was chosen to appear, but gladly went along with it.

I was thinking the same. I know it was considered a huge embarrassing flop at the time (heck I was 16 and didn't even watch it, even though younger me loved It's a Knockout), but frankly it is more star studded and genuinely entertaining than most of the drek on modern tv
