I have a fun fact about the ride, and the song it’s Small World! The Sherman Brothers wrote that song Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The ride itself was created for the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair. It was a ride promoting how we are one world during the hardships of the Vietnam war. Mary Blair from McAlester, Oklahoma was responsible for the whimsical designs of the ride. She also designed El Rio del Tiempo. It was also featured with Professor Owl from Toot Whistle Pluck and Boom where he spins the globe. That was on Disney’s Sing Along Songs Zip A Dee Doo Dah.
