He is playing foden on the left, foden has only had effective moments this entire tournament in central positions when drifting. And he has Jude playing right behind Kane. Kane's only good moment in the 90 minutes yesterday + only good moments vs slovenia came when he dropped into the hole to link play. He can't do that becuase Jude is occupying that position (when jude should just be playing next to Rice...). He only plays Jude there now becuase he does it for RM, but it's a completely different system there with a front 2 of pacey strikers who will drift into wide positions. Anyone who has watched the game and has the most remote football knowledge is aware that his tactics have been absolutely all over the place

When he stepped up for the penalty I knew he'd fail. I'd never seen him even score for Villa, let alone take a penalty. That tournament was special. Gazza lobbing Hendry and scoring just after a Scotland penalty, Shearer and Sheringham tearing teams up, that 4-1 win against a brilliant Netherlands team, 3 Lions top of the charts and a lovely summer. 1 inch further forward in that game against Germany and Gazza would have scored. We gave it everything that summer and the lads did the country proud. That passion is what's lacking. If England were swashbuckling brave and trying their hardest I don't think the country would mind. It's the seeming lack of effort and energy that is annoying me personally.
