From artist Tom Harold comes "It's About Time," a unique rolling ball sculpture that is not only a work of contemporary kinetic art, but also features a fully functioning clock. The piece measures 24” x 18” x 12” (VxHxD).
This custom ball machine sculpture was commissioned as a birthday present by a wife for her engineer husband. It features three stainless steel tracks, one dedicated a tall coil. The other two tracks have elements such as spirals, serpentine (wiggle) track, loops, three teeter-totter style track switches, a tipping arm, various fun twisting and curving track and an automated ball lift that can be turned on and off at the viewer's discretion. The clock runs off of a separate AA battery, running whether the balls are in motion or not. The clock face is also of stainless steel and was custom designed for this sculpture.
