Ice doesn’t expand that way. The entire door would need to be covered in a flow of liquid nitrogen. Otherwise just the portion where the liquid is would freeze while the rest would remain liquid water. Steel may transmit heat fairly well (although it does expand and contract with temp change) but water does not. Theirs a reason lakes take multiple days of sub freezing temps to make thick enough ice to walk on, let alone drive on.
@@djaa7 There is something to be said for suspension of disbelief, but often times movies fail to keep that going. I really think Hollywood needs a person on every set that has the authority to slap the directors and tell them not to do that stupid thing they are about to do.
metal dosnt expand when cold it contracts water expands because at the molecular level it freezes into a 6 sided crystal structure taking up more room then when it's liquid
