That guy was crazy, the way his stubby little fingers glided on that keyboard and the sound it made was amazing. It was like a tiger was growing at you. I just saw a few new pictures of him with his hair all grown out and his trademark mustache was really long! Man I wish he was still here that guy had the biggest impact on me even though I’m not a musician.
Mama done raised herself an unimaginative blockhead, so I'll just repeat the basic sentiment of my post on the deleted obsolete version... it's tough listening through this knowing any note could have been the last Vince would ever record... the playful yet joyful grace inherent to this final gift to us all, does not help. Almost fifty years on, you are still missed.
I also said this on the original video... None of these were his exact last notes recorded. He performed Eleanor Rigby that night before his sudden heart attack. But I see your point.
The final special, Vince Guaraldi is the composer as he died from a heart attack several hours after completing the soundtrack, and this special is dedicated to his memory
I never have been much of a Peanuts fan, but I really admire Vince's work. What a shame it's now been 47 years without him, as of yesterday. Hope you can rest easy, Guaraldi. Edit: He's spent as many years dead as he did alive.
I don't know if you hear this often, but you're doing gods work. I absolutely adore Guaraldi's work on Peanuts, and it's a shame a good portion of it is unreleased. You doing this however makes it easier for me to hear the music I ever so adore clean and crisp. Thanks!
Thank you so much to upload this album I love charlie brown music and until now I havent listened this album it's absolutelly awesome it makes me feel so relaxed. Greetings from Chile
Kinda eerie and at the same time very sad that 90% of the songs on this soundtrack are very reminiscent of Christmastime is Here which was the first song we ever heard from Vince as it introduced us to the Peanuts specials. So, in a way, this soundtrack really does feel like a goodbye from Vince. It's like it's bringing us all back to where it all begun as this is the end of Vince's music..sure, Vince didn't know he was gonna die later that evening after completing this soundtrack..but that's what makes it so much more eerie and super depressing..especially considering how a lot of these songs are slow and melancholic sounding..we miss you Vince... ❤️😥
