@@JaksIRL Ha, I was thinking that there were bound to be a couple of neighbors who were going to be VERY happy that he got the warehouse. Opinion based entirely off of having a project car in my own driveway.
@@WatchJRGo the goonzsqaud have spent about the same amount of time and like 40 videos building a house and no one complaining. Your channel is doing fine.
I’m one of those weirdos that loves to see others succeed (especially after one gets kicked in the gut)... thanks for sharing your current situation! I wish (and pray) for your continued success. I enjoy watching your content! I usually learn something new each show.
Typically you paint first and do the floors are last……. on epoxy floors you can get away with it… BUT it’s best to save them for last. Given a choice go that way.. because you don’t wanna damage/soil fresh floors.🤔👌🏾💎.
If people are saying they hate the building videos then they are the types of people that have limited scope and are most likely the types that will just hate on everything. It's content and when finished will only improve his normal content. He'll have lifts and tripods (or 100percent Jakes to hold the cameras) and all the things people whine about.
Did same thing. Left my safe corporate management job to go full time working at my unit flipping and restoring cars. I work more hours but it never feels like work I love it! And even do YT videos as I go lol!!
Honestly just wanna say good for you, that’s a huge commitment and just everything you have done in the past 18 months, Good for you JR that takes some serious balls and could only imagine what you have been through! Love the videos and just wanna say what your doing is showing anyone that anything is possible if you commit to it and wanna become a brand or something by yourself. Congrats man
It is absolutely crazy and it has been a blast watching your progress over the last 18 months! Not many people could accomplish that and you should be proud. Thank you for continuing to share your story!!!
JR, living the dream. I just don't understand negativity. What you have accomplished is amazing. Keep up the great work and finish that awesome building. I see your plan, this allows you to give back to all your friends that have helped you along the way!
Great shop and fleet update! I didnt know your history, but I was pleasantly surprised and encouraged. I can totally relate to your story. Thanks for being a great example of whats possible and congrats on the shop and persuing your passion!
Don't pay any attention to the negative comments, do it your way. Love seeing the warehouse progress as well as the cars. Its gonna be monumental when you're done! You rock!
Excellent update! Ignore the naysayers, JR. You put out great content and I'm really interested in what's happening with the warehouses and cars. Still plenty of projects to work on as you went through the list of what you already have. I'd forgotten about a couple of the cars.
What up JR? I am currently helping rebuild a shop with a buddy after ours burned to the ground. We are farther along than you but it is a much smaller space. It's fun to watch somebody else go through the same work and learning along the way. Especially with those lifts, we installed one of the same model. Like you, we are trying to put together things that make life easier and make the shop more functional. Basically including everything we always wished we had in the old space. Keep up the good work and content!
This was an awesome update, I'm glad everything is going great for you after losing your job. I ran across your channel about a year ago while I was looking up how to replace the water pump on my 2004 Ford Ranger Edge that I had. I saw all the videos of you fixing up that old Ranger and became a fan of your channel since. Continue keeping up the good work on the shop! It's looking good so far from when you first got it!
As a commercial union electrician here at New York I give you props a credit for your electrical work as you mentioned many times in your videos you’re definitely doing it right the pipe rods are done right or the hardware brackets Kindorf hangers offsets 90s etc. are all in line evenly spaced and uniformed nothing makes me happier to see that. you were obviously trained the right way good for you love to see the hard work on the building. Good things happen to good people
You are literally a RU-vid rock star. It’s such a pleasure to watch you build this enterprise. Congrats on an amazing 18 months. I’ve been a fan the whole time. Really impressed with your work on all fronts. The space is amazing and seeing the build out is VERY interesting. 😊👍👍
As a full-time IT person who loves cars, I appreciate your story. Way to go! The garage is a major part of your story and you have to have the infrastructure done right before you can reap the benefits. Yes, I'm sure some are missing the car videos but I love seeing the work on the garage. Good luck!
Whether it felt like it at the time.... your boss did you a favor letting you go. Your channel has blown up since going full time. Congrats on that JR, you deserve the success that you earned. Cheers!
Great update. Sounds to me like you have a good plan in place and are executing it really well. I like that you and your friends are in there doing most of the hands on work. So many negative comments from folks who I think might just be a bit jealous. Can’t wait to see the shop finished. Peace
I can't get more than 30 minutes of work done in my garage before I find I have to order yet another little part. But that's ok...I'm greatful in this day and age that I have a roof over my head, much less even a standard two-car garage to play in.
The R8 is an amazing achievement - you are right to be proud of it. I wondered how in the heck you kept all those parts together and then learned plastic bags are your favorite tool for organization. That in itself is a useful lesson for anyone who wants to rebuild a car. Best of luck with your new immense shop. Your hard work on cars and the building is just astounding.
The building is interesting. It's like awesome fort building for grown ups. Just as cool as the cars. Keep doing both, and I'll keep tuning in. Glad things are going from strength to strength.
I've liked most of the building videos personally. It is a nice change of pace. Hope people can just chill out and enjoy the videos; the car vids that are going to be made in this shop are going to be awesome.
I like the building renovation videos, keep them coming. There are plenty of LS swap videos on RU-vid to keep people that are into that type of thing going. Its not everyday we can follow along on a 20 K square foot shop build. Lifts look great.
If I may suggest, a multi stall bathroom with shower, and a safety shower in the shop itself. There are so many substances that exposure to could be harmful to your health.
I'm super happy for you. I love how you took a negative situation and completely flipped it. That's very encouraging, especially during these times. Keep the videos coming, more 1st gen Camaro content please😉 . THANKS!
How can people not like the working on the shop videos , I like them as much as the cars . Great channel , great content , always entertaining ..... Keep doing what you do John . 😃
That's my ultimate life goal is to work for myself. After being let go from my previous job so they could "cut costs" I'm just done working for other people.
After 2 years, the R8 is (almost) ready. Good job 😁 I am kidding. These cars - as long as many VolskWagen group cars - are very difficult to modify, and even to maintain. I am very proud of your work, I have been following you since right before they fired you, and have been very happy to see your evolution. You have inspired me to work on my cars, to follow my passions, and to go out there and just do it 😀 Thank you so much, John Ross! Cheers from Portugal.
I try to understand why at the end he talks about his merch and say not like this ,it's so retarded then close only to come back for two minutes , it can't be just me find that odd
You know your doing well when the comments start flying left and right of what you should do, and then you know your doing really really well when the HATE is attached to those comments. Your channel is awesome keep it up.
Maybe you can work something out with Hoovie to alleviate some of his overflow stock of vehicles. Anyway, I have an idea for your channel. You could do a concept where you fix up a car or truck and sell it on the cheep to an honorable and worthy person. Like on the Xmas specials Hoovie and Wizard did. Something like the old Wheeler Dealers. They got away from those budget vehicles slowly but surely which was sad. I think it would be something to help pull everyone together. I’d be surprised if the internet didn’t love it to. Good luck
Or, he buys a cheaper vehicle, fixes/restores it, then chooses someone with an old, paid for beater to swap cars with, takes that old vehicle and repeats the process. That way he always has a steady stream of vehicles to work on, and some good folks get a great upgrade on their vehicle.
I hv been following u since you have gotten fired.. congratulations on your future endeavors as they say whn gting walked out of a job. Good for you JR.
CONGRATULATIONS! I've experienced 3 layoffs in my career, you understand that you can land on your feet. It may smart a little on landing, but you get through it. In my opinion, your job termination just accelerated the inevitable. Great job! I love the naysayers who arm chair quarterback and most likely don't possess the cajones to step out and take the risk. Looking forward to more great content
I am having a blast seeing your whirlwind transformation of the new garage. I look forward to every episode. I don't know whether I'd like to see you keep both buildings or flip one. Or become a landlord for the one so you have a steady stream of revenue to pay for new builds.
There´s definitely a possibility to rent out floor space and starting up a cashflow inwards. He should start a property company for the buildings and the land they sit on.
Having had to shift far too many 5 gallon pails of HF, I’ve found elevating the bucket (oh, look, a forklift) and a 1” or 3/4” siphon hose a godsend for places I can’t fit a bucket right on top of the reservoir. (gotta love ancient excavators that lose HF by the barrel when they’re idle.)
Dude, no hate from here. This was the logical next step, and you made the best possible choice of a building. Tons of space at a bargain. Congrats on getting rewarded for the hard work!
Yeah, the other members of the WatchJRGO team are always a welcome sight. I think we'll be seeing them when they need to use a lift or just extra space to work on their projects.
Love watching the shop build come along. You have awesome friends putting in the time to help. As many car batteries as you go through, you should get set up as a stocking dealer. Batteries, Motul, etc to help save some money on car builds. Can't wait to see the Super Bowl bash video.
Halfway through the video, what was supposed to be a look back turned into you returning to form and installing your hydraulic car lift. I love it, man. Keep it up, I'll keep watching. 😁
Garage building series is awesome. I am learning a lot watching this, as much as with your car builds. Been watching your channel since just before you got fired. Keep grinding, you are doing great IMHO!
You should put your air compressor outside your building on its own external sound prove shed to minimise the noise in your vids and for better quality of life day to day
Separating the motor/pump from the metal subwoofer will quiet down any compressor. I set up our equipment at a trade show in Taiwan and was told the air compressor was ready. Not believing it was true, I looked at the cabinet. Overhead spring mounted motor/compressor, external tank, excellent setup for a quiet setup.
Why all the hate? You’re showing exactly what it takes to have a great shop and I appreciate that you’re doing most of it yourself with help from friends. That’s the most rewarding feeling when you get something done.
ditching the porsche is a mistake, vintage porsche rebuilds always being in lots of traffic and knew subscribers as there is interest world wide for these.
@@mmonkeyman1403 Compared to what? He's not exactly wrenching on old Ferraris. That 944 he tinkered with was the only car I'd tune in for. But then it seems he mostly caters to the 'LS swap into everything' crowd.
I don't get why you'd be getting haters for the shop content. I've been loving it. It's so cool to see the transformation. Congrats on everything you've been able to accomplish since getting fired!
Congratulations on all your success! sometimes you just have to take that chance.I started watching a little over a year ago. I'm not even sure how or why your channel came up in my feed as, although I'm capable, I'm not much of a car guy, generally speaking. None the less, I am subscribed and look forward to every video! Do me a favor though- please make sure you give all those moving light fixtures and power amplifiers a good blowing out before you fire them up. Watching you guys grind concrete with all that equipment uncovered and out in the open drove me nuts! Dust and heat is what takes those things out over the course of several years. You guys just gave it huge head start! Anyway, thanks for all of the entertainment, education and information. Keep up the good work!
So - have you not forgotten your roots? You started off in your garage at home saying you built a lot of cars in there. True - but what is on your logo? A motorcycle with you riding on it - you rode around town commenting on interesting things. You have gotten away from that but don't forget what got you to your big massive garage in the first place. Some of us (including me) have been watching you for that long! Oh- and how is your dad? Is he ok after the Covid thing? Last you said he was in the hospital.
You are so smart to get it figured out. Safe and reliable is not as safe and reliable as people think when you depend on someone else for a paycheck. I had a career as a college teacher, but got paid the same no matter how hard I worked. Working for myself has been the best fun since then.
I like the shop builds - interesting change of pace,. Agree with others that the mix of cars and shop is better than all building all the time - but it's clear that you're getting there...
Fast food collaborations are not for the faint of heart. Congratulations on all of you accomplishments. I can’t wait to see what the future of your career and your channel hold.
love the garage content. one big upside of having this space, is that you won't have to work at Josh's and Gabe's places anymore...they can work in yours! I'm sure that will be gratifying
I found you because of the video you made when you got fired and you've been my favorite car RU-vid ever since. I am so happy to see where you've gone and excited to see where you go in the next 1.5 years!
