What I loved about the Salah goal was, on the replay from behind the goal, you can see that the ball hasn't even reached the 6 yard box yet and the crowd steward behind the goal is already getting up from the ground to stand up. The steward equivalent of Virg celebrating with the ol' 'arms aloft at the other end of the pitch' before someone scores.

I love that Slot is completely different to Klopp personality wise because nobody will ever be like Klopp and anyone trying to be would come across as a terrible imitation.

Honestly, the only season under Klopp when we really seemed focused on control was when we won the league. I remember Klopp saying this that season, trying to concede less and have more control as needing to be perfect to beat City, etc, and we were. So I'm all for it. For some reason it changed the following season, they wanted to play with a higher line, etc, we became more vulnerable. Never understood why you'd change anything after 99 points.

I feel like after last year when it was all chaos and people forget that we played like this under Klopp too... we had matches where it was possesion possesion, then all the sudden turn through the gears, goal, and back to possesion, it was great to watch because you just waited for that rush...and that was the pure dominance i loved to watch

From what I can see, the slightly lesser intensity style is more defensively secure as well as taking less of a toll on players. I think this might be the beginning of something special.

The team plays with intent and doesn't run themselves ragged so fingers crossed they have less injuries esp Jota.

Yeah, more control, less intensity, more 'boring' 2-0 wins will do very nicely. The 'problem' with all the intensity is it eventually catches up with you; how many seasons were the players knackered, and playing on fumes come April? City, and latterly Arsenal had far more comfortable wins, so had more energy come season end.

This might just be me but early signs show Gravenberch maybe becoming Slot’s Gini - a tenacious, ball-progressing, technically-gifted, offensively-minded (and coincidentally both Dutch) midfielder who has been put into the 6 role and absolutely owning it. Are they the best defensively? No. Will they close out tackles and read interceptions like it’s nobody’s business? You’re goddamn right they will. Here’s hoping he’s able to add this defensive edge to his overall game when a “true” 6 comes in, like when we brought in Fab and Gini moved back to an 8 but was still reliable as ever when tracking back and closing down

Some great one touch passing in the final third and a clean sheet. Slot ball is working. Gravenberch and Szoboszlai were awsome and made things easy for the front three.

I love the control. There were times during the klopp era where that was one thing that always bugged me. We often didnt control games and left ourselves and the result open to chance when it should of been a sure thing.

It didn't feel quiet in The Kop. I thought we were singing for most of the game. There were a couple of minutes when we were between songs but it felt pretty good.

I watched the game back this morning and it seemed a lot quieter on tv than it did in the ground. The atmosphere yesterday felt ok, about what you’d expect against Brentford, it was never going to be Barca champs league levels.

As much as I love Klopp... After conceding the first goal for what seemed like 10 games in a row last season, I found myself reluctantly excited for a bit of a change. Loving the slightly more considered approach of Slott's football so far. (I will never refer to it as Slot Ball... sounds like a retro computer game on the Comador '64)

Being at the game, did not feel Liverpool were vulnerable during most of 90 minutes. Yes teams will get chances as it premier league. But passing movement was excellent and control of game was definitely different from last season

My problem with how Klopp played… he made the players run and run and run. Injury after injury. I believe Slot will have them run when there is a purpose. Instead of running their butts off, he’ll have them pass their butts off, which will massively reduce injuries!

I think that since we're not trying to counter attack all the time, the player's are more eager to recover their defensive positions and cut off other team's counters, and not taking more aggressive positioning to try to go all over again and punish when/if the ball is recovered. It even helps with pressure after loss... If you have two players going after a counter-attacking opponent and the ball is recovered, you'd already have a overload in the area to retain possession with simple passes, while if you recover the ball with only one player, he could still be under pressure and lose it just after;

Honestly, having been to Anfield and to our Malmo FF stadium here, Anfield is overrated. In Sweden the fans are singing and chanting from 30 minutes before kick off until the final whistle without a break (despite the pub level football). It didn't surprise me Anfield was silent really.
