Don't see a lot of people talking about it but probably my favorite moment of the movie is when Lee John and the one women (I forget her name) are talking a little about his past and how he never knew the day he was born. Then she tells him that it's today and sings happy birthday to him. It wasn't just a heartfelt moment but it goes to show that the majority of these people who commit crimes and stuff just need a bit of love and for someone to acknowledge them. As a Christian, to me it also symbolises to be born again. Which was a very nice moment.
@@StevesRankings I definitely shed some tears when I first saw it. I can't say that I relate to someone who has gone through that but I can definitely sympathize. People really out there today that all they'd like is for some one to just embrace them and sing happy birthday to them.
@@JamaniPage I'm not talking about the movie itself. I was talking g about how most people weren't talking about that specific scene in the movie. And if you see other that do talk about it. That's from your own perspective. I'm sharing from my perspective.
Katt Williams and Tracy Morgan were obviously the comedic relief of this classic. When I first heard about "First Sunday" coming out, I thought it was a different titled movie to the "Friday" franchise 😂 Of course I was only a kid at the time
The pastor in this played by Chi McBride played Bow Wow's dad in Roll Bounce. And Clifton Powell the guy you say keep seeing popping up in different movies like Menace II Society was the policeman.
13:49 our family church was in the middle of the projects with no central air conditioning and they just passed out fans but we still had to get dressed up in hot polyester dresses
I like this movie alot. Just because ceetain films do not garner reactions doesn't necessarily mean it's bad just not popular in the RU-vid community. Keep up the awesome reactions Mama
I definitely agree that first Sunday is like a parody of Friday because of the same somewhat plot and first Sunday is from a city/suburban area and Friday is from a city/urban area
Nah first Sunday isn’t a parody of Friday. This is an actual movie. It was just mainly produced by Ice Cube movie company. Friday he was just getting started. That was his very first movie I believe after Boys N The Hood. The old lady you love is Ricky Smiley lmfao the one Katt Williams clowned on Club Shay Shay😂😂
Now if you want a good parody.. Don’t be a Menace while drinking your juice in south central is a CLASSICCCCC. It includes menace to society(not sure if you watched), boyz n the hood, south central & im sure I’m missing something else that someone will pick up on. THAT SHIT IS 10/10
You brought up a point about Next Friday I've always thought; Craig lowkey is a bad cousin. He came over, got his lil cousin fired from his job, lowkey got him tied up w them Joker Brothers (and also probably smashed their sister), and he contributed to messing his car by denting his roof 😂 Day Day need justice 💯💯
I only checked out this movie after Katt Williams mentioned it in his interview with Club Shay Shay. Glad i did because its a very good movie, that deserves more recognition.
A lot of people don’t know about this film. They treated this movie like they Janky Promoters. They just low budget cause they have so many good actors. I think they were both still great movies. I’ve seen this movie hundreds of times, & would watch it again. It’s good & funny & good lil lessons throughout no shade. Lee John(Tracy Morgan) was the perfect comedy. It so funny when people take his role serious. He played a person that’s a “joke” perfectly. He was meant to be a fucked up ditsy character lmfao.
When Ice Cube looked at himself in the mirror it was supposed to be like a “look at yourself doing what you’re doing.. You’re holding a gun in a church”
I LOVE HOW THEY BROUGHT THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD IS HERE IN THIS MAOVIE ..THAT IS ONE MY FAVORTIE CHRISTIAN SONGS A S A KID ..HOWEVER DIRECTED FIRST SUNDAY YOU ARE A GENEUS TO PUT THAT SONG THERE CAUSE I FELT I WAS IN CHURCH NOW MJ
Yeah, Cube wrote Friday but sold it to WB. It's sad that they didn't let Cube make that sequel when everyone was still alive. He was waiting on the green light but he wasn't given the opportunity.
