Alot of it was Todd promising his crew they will make a fortune but fialing to dliver. Even Rick ness in season 10 had a blow out with one of his freinds over a poor season. All it takes is bad results to create tension and 1 single word needs to be said for an implosion to happen.
Todd always starts a season with big words and alot of confidence in their ground and how good it is. In the end, he always falls short and ending the season in a failure. Anybody else who has a deja vu, for the 3rd or 4th time across 8 seasons. Hoffman's incompetence is shining bright as the sunny day. I think it pisses Todd off that Parker is so much younger, but is more successful in gold mining. Hoffman's really doesn't know what they are doing.
Stonk Todd knew the moment he met Parker that Parker could run a mining operation better than him on Parker's own at just 15! Todd knows he CAN'T run a mining company and is very insecure about it so he behaves like a 9 year old!

That not fair. I grant you he shouldn’t of been there but Parker being 16 has nothing to do with his knowledge of what to do, he’s been mining for most of his life with his grandfather and took it serious. I would have taken his advice when it came to a lot of stuff relating to that type of mining and geological knowledge
@@Wickedreptiles 100% agree all I meant was to start a mining company and place your self as site manager and not to have at least the knowledge of a 16 year old who has grown up around mining isn’t the best way to invest your money maybe he should have got him self a job as a operator for a few years and learn a few things before putting so much time and money into it there is a reason farms usually go down in families same thing with mining just need a bit of experience
Its bad when you could probably fly to the Klondike, rent a tiny little digger and a tiny wash plant, ask tony for a 30 x 30 mining claim and still make more profit in a month than the Hoffman's did in a whole season.
Everyone knows this is just a reality show to keep up with the expenses of gold mining. This moments happen all the time to keep the episodes interesting and people curious. It's the same with fishing and all those shows.
True and the drama is fake but i like to believe that the people are real. The great people like parker and tony, and i hope todd is really that retarded.
Todd made mistakes and bad decisions which lead to his crew dissolving and losing faith. the Hoffmans had their best season up in the Yukon, a 3000 ounce season, where they should have stayed. After this Todd kept casing ghost stores which caused them to lose money season after season. This caused a rift in his crew and the pressure eventually caused two of his trusted foreman to butt heads, Dave and Tray.
@@farseer747 everyone thinks that what other has achieved was handed down to him. While the us population believes so most are in loan or debt of same amount for a good degree
The only reason James Harness was kicked off the crew was because Todd didn't want the spotlight on all of his mistakes. James at least had legitimate reasons he had to take time off from work because of his medical condition but Todd...his track record of screw ups speaks for itself.
Has Hoffman EVER come out ahead in Profit during ANY Season? How in the world does he pay his debts? I swear....everytime I watch, he's breaking down, something goes wrong, or he fails to find anything. 8 seasons now....insane!
Discovery Channel loves either... people who succeed greatly, or fail badly. Networks thrive on this entertainment principle Mix the two, and you have a hit show.
Hoffman's old father, spoken like stepping on a squeaky toy.... "All we gotta do is get the gold outta the ground. ... now lets pray" (again). LOL it seems like the more they prayed for a miracle , the less gold they got.
I have thought the old fella always comes out and says well not to good guys, then shows 2 hidden jars of gold, and everyone go's yay \0/ but my gut tells me the old man uses this mind trick to cream the gold off the top whilst the minors are just happy to see gold. This is an old CON

Todd i watched you for years thousand miles away,and everytime single time i waited for the final count between all of your competitors i wished you will have the biggest cut... The Hoffmanns are NOT vocational Professionals. Better would have done some training before digging. Some knowledge about geology would have helped them.
I don't know why Hoffman kept this up for years.....he CLEARLY doesn't know what to do or how to do it......I think I could find more gold than his team with a shovel......glad to see him off the air
Both Schnabel (German roots) and Beets (Dutch roots) carry on this year and again the Hoffmans (usa) gamble like they did in LATAM as well with this year negativ results. Feet on the ground and learn from Schnabel and Beets better late than never.

"Oregon was supposed to be a beautiful homecoming." Too right. Several of the crew, as well as Hoffman, live in Oregon. He made a mess of his Oregon claim, was sited and fined for the damage he did to wildlife and habitat. We just don't stand for that here! He should have known better. The fines won't bring back the damaged wildlife area tho. Watch out Colorado!!
Don't be so sure the Sahara used to be dirt trees Forest obit who knows what's under there I mean way under the sand plus there are ancient rivers that run all through this is at the Sahara
Huffman got jinxed off the fight his team had on the first season when instead off holding the time together that one guy got the boot by everyone in the team
I could had no appreciation for Todd or the 3:16 Mining crew; Hey Guys let's all huddle around here - Talk to God for a minute and ask for His Blessing while we Destroy this Natural Habitat.
