I've had one of these before. As soon as I saw you putting it on the plate, I shouted at the screen, 'No! Don't waste the hot water on the washing up. Keep it in the container so you can just put it all in the bin easily'.
Supermarket brand microwave breakfasts were my hangover comfort food when I was a teen. I personally love the cheap taste of them, some kind of of twisted nostalgia, I guess; Like microwave doner kebabs. You definilty can't compare them to a regular fry-up as they're a completely different kind of beast.
Every Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturday morning I have 4 of these with at least 3/4 loaf of Warburtons thick toastie bread as I think they are fucking stunning after 2 pints of whisky the night before. 😊
A butcher's counter in some supermarkets offer individual fresh sausage/bacon if you bought a rasher of bacon, a sausage and egg or two, a small tin of beans and served with a slice or two of buttered toast you would have a better meal a better price. i.e. Sausage 30p, bacon 30p, egg 30p, beans 23p, bread 10p , butter (from pantry) = £1.53
You could probably go to an actual butcher's and get better quality produce and still cheaper than £2.50. Arguably quicker to cook than this as well (because you omitted the hash brown). Only times this would be acceptable is if you only had a microwave or were unable to cook
I know these are designed as "instant meals" but it's so sad to see how shite they are. Out of curiosity, wanted to see if how much a week's worth of breakfasts would be compared to that using Aldi's online shop - prices would likely flucuate in store. Ashfield Butcher's Choice Cumberland Sausages 8pk - £1.79 Every Day Essentials Baked Beans x2 - 28p each - £0.56 Every Day Essentials Smoked Back Bacon 8 slices - £1.45 (Hash browns you'd have to assemble yourself from the following) Loose Cooking Potato x3 - 23p each - £0.69 Nature's Pick Brown Onion 3 pack - £0.89 Meravale Eggs 6x - £1.65 Total at the shop - £7.03 Enough ingredients for 6 breakfasts (as it's only 6 eggs, would not make sense to buy an extra box in my little thought-challenge, although you could have a 7th breakfast with 2 slices of bacon and 2 sausages for the last day.) Each consisting of: 1 Sausage, 1 Slice of bacon, 1 Small omelette, 1 or 2 spoonfulls of beans, 1 hashbrown. Economy of scale: Each breakfast cost - Around £1.25. For those pedantic, this does not include the cost of cooking or salt and pepper which I'd definitely be adding to my breakfasts. Does not include oil as I'd likely cook the whole lot in one pan after cooking the bacon using the water method. Could also cook all the sausages and all the bacon day one, and microwave each day but would likely not be necessary. Personally I'd add a small loaf of whatever bread, Aldi has a seeded small loaf for £0.65 which would bring my total for a week to £7.68 and my average cost up to around £1.34.
Nah, poached eggs on toast for me cheers, I remember these when my mom first got a microwave in the late 80's, all day breakfasts and 'Sunday roast' were all the rage........ As a kid, I just appreciated the free Frisbees 😅
Well yes and it costs less if you divide the cost of half a dozen eggs and a small wholemeal loaf by 3, add 20p of butter, it comes to under a quid (2 free range poached eggs on toast). Or over 3 days for £7.50 you can add a pack of bacon (and have 3 or 4 rashers a day), a pack of sausages and a tin of beans. Or whatever you want but you can do better. The only reason people buy this is for convenience because admittely to cook sausage, bacon, eggs and beans takes 20 mins.
@@simonh6371 I like the versatility of🥚 🥚 🥚's ,upgrade toast, to muffins or bagels 🍞 🚫 🥓 🥯 ✔ 👍, Nuke some bacon and Voila an Impressive classy, yet cheap n quick breakie 🛌 🍽 ❤ 👌, BUT if she's a keeper, upgrade the pig for fish, serve the poached eggs over smoked salmon 🐖 🚫 🐟 ✔ 👍, Top off with hollandaise sauce, finish under grill 🔥 So if she's a keeper, take her back to bed, what the hell, your breath already stinks of fish, and you should both burn of some of the calories you both just ingested, 👅 🐟 👃 💋 😗 The ability to cook like a Boss..., "Turning one night stands into marriage since 2006........"
Yeah that doesn't look amazing. I wonder if something like this might be better in the oven or the air fryer. Personally I think I'd rather just get a tin of beans and sausages which are half price in ASDA at the moment.
honestly, how can things like this be allowed to be made. It looks absolutley vile and the cheapest ingredients possible, surely they dont sell and the majority are thrown out?
Sorry that looks horrendous but saying that iknow a worse one the spoons one ihad yesterday it was cold and well it had problems 😂 just found your channel
Kind of defeats the object though because that takes more than half an hour if you include pre-heating the oven. In that case you're better off buying £7.50 worth of eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and hash browns for 3 days, cook it yourself, and eat much better.
you have to be in a real bad place to feel the urge to buy this. that or just lazy beyond any form of self preservation. either way feel sorry for anybody who has chosen to eat this as a 'meal' and shouldn't be legal to stock this in a supermarket
Just found your channel, that breakfast looked sorry for itself just in the container, the Sausage looked vile, and I don’t know why they bother with Bacon as it doesn’t suit microwaving
