This is exactly why having different projects going is a good idea. Who knows how many people you helped that needed to replace an area of rotted floor today. You are an amazing teacher, Doug. Thank-you!
I'm so fascinated and impressed with both of your skills, ingenuity, work ethic, and how well you work together. I really enjoy all your background music choices too!! Love you guys!
The job is big but Doug, you found it and now it’s being repaired! What if you if you stopped looking in that small area in and around the bathroom? You’d be doing this later maybe after some of your heavy equipment put a hole in the floor! That would be disastrous! Your calmness, whether you know it or not, is greatly helping other DIYers who run into problems to keep calm, figure out what to do and just do it. You NEED this building! It’ll be shop shape by the time you and EV put everything in its new place. Great job!💕
I admire the dedication that you and Eevee put into getting things right. You say it’s a mess but don’t forget you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs, the end result will be worth it. 🏴
I love the new building...helps that you don't get tired of working on the same stuff....it's going to be great having a lot of storage outdoors plus extra rooms to keep clutter out of the house.
I think this is maybe one of my favorite reno's so far. That could have a lot to do with the fact that I love tiny houses though. I was so excited when I saw you drive that onto the property.😅 Thanks for the content this morning.. ❤
You continue to amaze me at what can be done to repair damage! And your optimism is wonderful. I'll never be able to do the things you do, but I'm sure you help many in being able to find solutions in their situations. And who knows, maybe someday there will be some small project I have to address on my home that I'll be able to do just because I learned something on your channel.
Your new/old storage building will be perfect for you guys. So glad you found it. Wasn’t in the plan, but it will be great! Love your teaching style videos.
Great repair you make it look so easy and explain everything so well, best way to get the rotten wood away nice new timbers the only way to deal with it is to strip it back to the good dry wood to get it right and dry again, really enjoy watching you both working together, lovely family team well done 😊 take care
Sorry you had to deal with all of that. But it's good to catch it all at the beginning. Knowing Doug, it's going to be better and stronger than it was. I always enjoy watching how you overcome obstacles like this. Be safe
I am really enjoying the different projects that you are currently working on, not only I’m sure it breaks up the monotony of doing the same thing, it helps so many that may need help with their own projects that you have shown how to fix. Thank you for all the content and DIY’s.
I'm always happy to see a video from you guys. Last week I was at my son's manufactured home. he had a leak. that rotted the floor. I told him what he should do. He said that is too much work. So he called someone to fix it. He called me yesterday and said damn it Mom. exactly what you told me to do, is what they did. and it cost him $1500.
I think today’s video may be one of the most impressive from my point of view.(Among all the other impressive video’s I might add) As a person who does a little minor carpentry and manages to make a huge meal of it with mistakes and inordinate amounts of time taken ,your putting it all together rapidly and faultlessly was almost magical. ❤
I was so looking forward to seeing the mobile home and your house finished. Guess I'll just have to be more patient. Much love, health and luck to all of you.❤🙂
Right now I have 4 projects I am doing. I do a section at a time as money and time allows. You guys make me feel vindicated as you have a similar work model. Work on priorities then get onto other projects. They get complete eventually. Also I get bored easy and I like having something in the works always.
If RU-vid were a thing 25 years ago, and if you both had been adults doing this instead of the age of children you probably were at the time, ani had been 47 instead of 72…. I would have had the physical strength and knowledge from watching you to be able to tackle a full trailer demo and reno! 👌 But, that’s a lot of ifs and the most important part is missing from the current situation, which is strength. I still enjoy watching and learning though. 💯👍💖
Yay...another morning video for me and my coffee! Good morning to you as well even tho you have already been hard at work. Repairs are coming along so nicely. It will be better than new before we know it. So much fun to watch! Enjoy the rest of your day. ❤
I was talking to one of my sons last week. He’s a fancy pants plumbing project manger currently overseeing two huge builds. I know one is a 23-story student residence building. He and his Dad, The Drummer, were talking about some water damage at our beach place. They are going to tear up some places to check the damage. I casually said if the joists or uprights just have minimal problems they can just “treat the wood and sister some support.” 😂🤣😂 The table went silent and I just kept eating but all the boys were staring at me. It was a million dollar moment. 💥 I peeked and saw my son looked at The Drummer and he mouthed, “WTF?” Thank you, Doug. I owe ya. 🥰 (I did not tell anyone I learned this from watching a quirky Jack-of-all-trades and his ever-supportive wife on RU-vid. How could I explain my addiction to your channel for its twists and turns and the patient explanations of remodeling projects? What other Grandma knows about sister-in-law? lololol PS: If you have any favorite unusual tools or extra-handy tools etc. I would appreciate a recommendation video. I know you guys don’t do Christmas, but we do and any suggestions for gifts or stocking stuffers would be appreciated. Or books, toys, family items, etc. I already decided to give some jigsaw puzzles this year inspired by Eevee. When the pumpkins come out, my thoughts turn towards the coming season. Xo🤎
😂🤣Now that's priceless!! Wudda loved to see that "hmmm" 🤔look on their faces!🤗 Doug is an awesome instructor and a confidence booster for that all alluding question..."Can we build it!?.....YES WE CAN!!!" 😄🤗
Good job at fixing the floor, Plywood fit like a glove. Do one thing and that leads to another everytime. Our vapor barrier is on the inside 6mm plastic In Manitoba Canada. We are fixing the 830sq home for retirement. Have a great week 🇨🇦☕️🇨🇦☕️
I can explain why we still do things the same way our great-great-great grandparents did. Just go to any RU-vid video where a professional electrician explains WAGO connectors and their benefits. They've been in use outside the US for over 50 years. Successfully. The screams and cries of how dangerous they are and how they will burn down one's house run through the entire comment section - many of those comments from professional electricians. Do the same thing with Sharkbite - the comment sections are filled with nonsense on how their cousin's wife's dog groomer's second ex-husband's neighbor's house flooded because of them! Try flashing tape around buck frames in windows or as 'pans' under doors. The lectures you will get on how they will not only fail but actually trap the moisture....Oh, right you have gotten all these comments, non-stop, from 'experts'. This is why it takes forever for us to move forward, even using technologies other countries have applied successfully for decades.
The path of least resistance. Maybe it makes for better air flow. I prefer the valves that go under the sink at least for me. I’d like to see more subs for you, your content is valuable for the diyer
@@diyfferentI use them I think you have before as well Oatey makes them. Use them when you don’t have a roof vent. Last house I was in they vented though the basement wall smacking my head. Doug made a comment about why are we still cutting holes in the roof. Sorry I was addressing that.
@@lechatbotte. OH, right. I get it now. The air admittance valves. I was thinking you were talking about water shut-off valves. Thanks for the clarification :D
Another suggestion for small spaces.. needs a little planning in advance are pocket doors.. just because you may not be able to put electricity in that space, but the door not needing to swing in or out into the rooms saves
Aww Maverick is working on the other end of the trailer. How cute!😊 Well, watching from this side of the screen, that was quick and easy. 🙂 It didn't really feel like a 21:45 video. I realize you have to shut off the camera for the more tedious aspects that aren't necessary to film, but you guys always make the actual installation looks so simple. That was fun! Good job! Bye Doug and Eevee. You guys take care! Hi kids! 👋 Bye kids! 👋 Have fun!🎉
Does this feel like ‘de ja vu’? It seems like it wasn’t that long ago you were doing the same thing at the mobile home. If nothing else, you definitely know what you’re doing! 😊❤
