The trailer states that the council is "dead" but that doesn’t mean that every single character who was in the room when the rocket hit perished. Some council members probably died but I doubt major characters like Jayce, Viktor and Mel are gone just like that. My prediction: Mel was wounded badly and is in critical condition, Jayce and Viktor survived with minor injuries and the rest actually died including Caitlyn's mother.

Season 2 will open the doors for other character story arc. The consequences from one story will ripple into another.

If the trailer is this profoundly electrifying from 1 watch, Im curious what the show itself would evoke from a reaction out of us. The trailer beaming with depth and great pointed dialogue. Just like most of us if not all greatly appreciated the masterpiece that season 1 still is, season 2 is going to be its own blaze of glory and an unforgettable sublime creation of art..
