My wife and I were in the garden today and we saw a Robin fly into the vegetable beds, I said Einstein you are a long way from home and my wife just looked with a confused look on her face! 😂😂😂😂

😆 I'm sure Emma has said, but is he called Einstein because he's clever enough to work out when his food is being released from the ground?? 🤔

Fish in tomato sauce won’t harm Rocky, my vets advised me that with really sick cats they offer them this to encourage them to eat. It won’t harm him once but I wouldn’t feed him that often. If he has a home it is best not to feed him. Can you ask around ? Or you can buy paper collars you can write on to see if someone answers you. Love your energy and you make me smile - well done on the allotment x

Hi Emma from Ontario, Canada. If you are having problems removing ornamental grass or bushes, what I do is place a brick or stone close to the weed plant and place a gardening fork over it and lift said plant up. It is all about leverage. Enjo your determination.

lovely to see Rocky again, but please don't feed him anything in tomato sauce, if you want to buy him some tinned fish it needs to be in sunflower oil or drain out any brine water, it could do him more harm than good to eat tomatoes. I think he lives locally, as is he looking too well to be a homeless Cornish Rex Cat. I hope he appreciates your winter jumper - I'm going to have to add one to my Christmas list. New allotment is looking great.

Another wonderful video you always make me smile! For me, when I had to make beds, I made the space between them wider, because I found out it was nice to be able to have room enough to sit down between the beds to dig out weeds and plant things :) Keep up the great work!! :)

Hi Emma all your hard work is paying off you plot is definitely taking shape ,what you need to get those grasses out is a mattock (a garden pick axe )Amazon sell them about £27 an well worth the money we got one for our allotment a brilliant tool gets rid of roots no problem .Also you mentioned getting another shed , well I can tell you every shed new or otherwise gets spiders the best ones for keeping spiders away are the plastic sheds ,I know cos I hate spiders 🕷 ,love your jumper too, anyway take care xx

The plot is taking shape, you should feel very pleased. I couldnt tell you how many times my vege patch beds were re-arranged on paper into different designs. I made the mistake in my first vege patch 20 odd years ago, making the beds too wide, and I was unable to reach into the middle without actually stepping into it. these days I prefer narrower beds where I can reach my arm the entire width of the bed, makes more beds but more efficient in planting and maintenance. Im in australia and have only just planted my summer veges outside, we are still dropping to night temps of 5 degree celsius which is ridiculous only 2 weeks out from summer.

Hi Emma, those clumps of ornamental grass were all over my plot. I couldn’t dig them out but one day realised that if you grab a few strands at a time and pull straight upwards they actually come out! It seems illogical but this is what worked for me - made the job much shorter.

Best advice I had when I was doing this job was to kneel in front of the bed and make the gap just wider than the knee to end of foot which often is the width of the membrane sheeting.

Dear Emma, Just had to tell you how you inspired me! We put in 4 new raised bed to be used next spring. We have a HUGE yard full of leaves that I knew I should rake and put in the bottom of the beds but the task was so daunting, I didn’t want to do it. Then I thought of your persistence and determination. You have been working on your new plot in small areas at a time and amazing progress has been made. Proud to say, I’ve been raking some each day and I know I’ll be glad to have nice leaves composting in my new raised beds. You should know that your effort in making videos is appreciated by many and that you have inspired people all over the world! I’m one of them!

I;m looking forward to the wildlife corner, the natural fence is a fab idea....frame the plot nicely. i like you, doing it alone, keep going, a short year from now, you w'ont recognize the plot. all your hard work will be worth it, your 80% way there! Whatever you can do now will be a great help for next spring, go handy, do what you can, enjoy the little wins. main thing is to enjoy the process.

Well done Emma, amazed at how much you have achieved in a short space of time. I think most plot holders have good and bad days, seems quite usual, I guess the fact you get there regularly is key to it all. Keep going it's looking fab.

Our allotments are much stricter no lawns play equipment, no ponds not too many flowers. My neighbour was told he’s not there to sit he’s there to work! Weekly inspections in summer. Aggressive letters or phone calls if it’s not up to standard with 10 days notice to sort it. Plots are generally bad when you get them too x

Rain, always cleans things up, when you don't catch grass, rain will wash some clippings in and the grass will quite often spring back up and grow overnight.
