When I saw the Venator above the island it looked genuinely terrifying, which is amazing to me because for a while the Venator was a friendly face to see, a ship that could easily defend against the bad guys to keep it simple, but has suffered a role reversal, and now is a ship to fear and terrifies everyone. It is my favourite ship in Star Wars, it is such a great ship design that the empire were foolish in giving up instead of improving on the design like the Venator II or Super Ventator, which I don't think we have ever seen outside of a few comic strips or something.

Honestly, the way the Marauder was destroyed, and the context around it are very different from the Razor Crest. The Razor Crest was more like a phoenix symbol, A rebirth, from the shot framing, how it affected the others and were they were during and after the event. The Marauder's destruction almost got wrecker killed, ended in Crosshairs failure to place a tracker, and hunter was busy not drowning. The destruction of the Marauder was also lingered on, with bits going every, even beneath the waves. It was a home first and represented stability and safety. It's destruction is foreshadowing. I don't think the Bad Batch will survive this last mission.

I felt more emotions when the Mandalorian lost his Razor Crest. It was a busted looking space minivan. . . . . But the Marauder? Meh. It happened so fast and the characters themselves didn't really care either.

RIP Marauder. Razor Crest will join you eventually.

The destruction of a ship is a metaphor for a commitment to moving forward for a character. When the ship outlives or out serves its user, the ship represents an idea or concept that is moving forward.

You are amazing! Each show, an education, often it triggers a trip down memory lane in some fashion. This time to my first car and yes, that sense of freedom. I remember even comparing it to the Falcon since it was not pretty, had problems, but the V8 could put on some speed, more than I was comfortable with at the time as I recall. It is always interesting to see how the twists and turns that life takes can shape a person, such as giving us Star Wars. Thank you for this video.

4:56 I agree, I liked TFA at its release, and even now it still stands as a decently solid Star Wars film. Things didn’t go quite so well afterwards, but that aside, TFA was pretty good as what was effectively Disney’s first real toe-dip into Star Wars.

Man WHY would Disney get rid of these well loved ships? Theory: Money. Disney possibly got rid of the Razor Crest so they could sell the Hasbro Mandalorian Naboo Starfighter. Maybe Disney got rid of the Marauder for the same reason. So they can sell the replacement ship. Maybe they'll release a Bad Batch Hasbro LAAT/i Gunship. People love the LAAT/i and Hasbro already has the mold. Remember they make more money on merchandise than the movies/shows. At least they used to. Another theory: Perhaps they got rid of the Marauder because they wanted Phee to become a more integrated member of the Batch and so her ship will replace the Marauder. Perhaps her presence will have something to do with finding Tech A.K.A. "Brown Eyes" (She called him that again in the last episode even though he's supposedly gone)

Every great story in Star Wars has a good ship behind it.

My first car was 1975 Ford LTD I bought from my dad with money I saved working for two summers. The original 302 cid V8 engine it had was pretty much shot, so with a bit of luck and my grandfather loaning me the money, he and I found a 351 Cleveland motor and installed that with what i remember was a Muncie M22 transmission. Like the Millennium Falcon, she wasn't much to look at, but she had it where it counts. God I miss that car.

What I really like about the Havoc Marauder is it's clearly inspired by the Escort Shuttle found in X-Wing Alliance. I think it's great when they pull ships from (somewhat) obscure sources.

The Marauder, despite being a home, also was one of the last ties the Batch had to the Old Republic. Everyone except Crosshairs has changed up their armor, the Marauder was their "mission base" and with it gone, may be time for the final mission as the Bad Batch.

Legitimate question. The animated series seem to leapfrog around each other to gradually fill in the timeline between the rise of Palpatine and Episode 4. Do you think there might be a future series with adult Omega as a leader for people hunted by the empire and her aged advisors who can act as generals and train people? It would also give Disney the opportunity to get all the Jedi who have survived in shows and games into one place and be destroyed right before Episode 4 and close that question.

I fear for the fate of the bad batch. I feel like one or multiple of them will be killed by the end. This is where I have to give credit finally a show in Star Wars where the main group is vulnerable to death(tech better not come back) Rebels and Resistance have a group of main characters and despite the odds all survive. While the TBB second season in and we lose a member.

My guess is Tech is very much alive.

At the very least, I believe Wrecker will die by the end of the show. I could definitely see Hunter dying as well. What I really want to see is if they’re going to do anything with Scorch or make some sort of reference to Delta. Probably not, but it would be cool if they did.

To extend your metaphor, if the ships that take the main character away for the first time represent maturity and leaving the safety of home for greater freedoms, then the recent trope of destroying the ship probably could also be read as a loss of innocence and the struggle of the individual against forces that seek to restrain freedom. In both the Bad Batch and the Mandalorian, the ships are destroyed by fascist or neo-fascist organizations in an attempt to deter or end the hero's journey the characters are on. At least in the Mandalorian, it represents Djinn moving from his life as a bounty hunter to one being more embroiled in politics. We'll see if it ends up being the same thing for the Bad Batch, but it certainly appears that way.
