I didnt mind the button down approach used by NBC; I also don’t mind what TNT does either. I love both for different reasons. ESPN however is so cringe. Outside of Levy, Weekes & Messier, holy cow it’s awful. Sean McDonagh & Ray Ferraro ain’t bad either; just ESPN as a whole…..They’re trying too hard. Their staff can’t look up stats correctly, watching it feels horrible. I don’t care about some of the many things brought up in the broadcast. I want hockey, not other stories. Shoot, ESPN is so bad, I want Pierre McGuire back. At least that guy gave good insight & did his homework.
It's definitely better than the other options but it's no where near the NBA tnt panel. They need other guys that compliment Biz to go back and forth more naturally. Someone like Bieksa or Subban or Sean Avery. A lot of it still feels boring or forced
I think rational NHL fans know they are two different players and McDavid is on his own level but stop pretending Matthews is chopped liver .You sound just like the delusional Jets fans who used to say Laine was better than Matthews.
@@kevinkeenan6078 Matthews is amazing, but there is no denying that his production drops off big time in the playoffs. While guys like McDavid and MacKinnon step it up even more in the playoffs. McDavids career regular season pace is 125pts/82 games. While in the playoffs it's 135pts/82games. While Matthews career regular season is 95pts/82 games and playoffs 72pts/82 games. That is a massive advantage to Connor. Matthews and his agent fleeced Tor by making him the highest cap hit in the league.
Connors comments are the psychological game within game, I.e "catch me if you can" . Anyone that has listened to him realize he is naturally modest as his game speaks for itself.
Double shifting McDavid taxing Draisaitl for nearly 30 minutes this game isn't sustainable in 7 game series. It doesn't hurt getting favourable non calls going your way when you highstick and draw blood to the other teams captain and best player and the refs turn a blind eye.
And then , like magic, as I posted after game 3 on Sportsnet ... There were the Oilers that we have all come to know (and only love if you are in Edmonton): 3 goals, 2 on the power play and 1 with the goalie out (after Miller hit the post on an empty net, which would have made it a 3-goal deficit): in other words: 0 goals at even strength, a calling card of the Oilers in the McDavid era, especially come playoff time, as evidenced by them being bounced year in and year out in playoffs - when qualifying. And, by the way, Canucks are employing their 3rd string goalie!
@@andiman45 oh f*ck shut up, clean hit, petey as you call him tried to avoid the contact and turtled in the boards. clean hit to the side, learn hockey before commenting
Whiniest superstar I’ve ever seen. Most of the elite players I’ve seen since 1990 have class. McDavid is a rare superstar who complains a lot. It’s embarrassing as a Canadian hockey fan. The guy regularly tops the league in scoring, but he always has something to complain about. I hope they lose this series so I don’t have to deal with him anymore.
One lucky bounce from Cole made a difference in this game ) Skinner SV % = .842 in game 2, game , in game 1 it was = .792 bad and very bad The Oilers have one good line with McDavid and some good players, and it's not their goalie Skinner😂 or the $9 million Nurse.🤑 statistics don't lie: overpaid lazy Nurse during regular season had only ( + 3 ) compare to Ekholm ( + 44 ), postseason Nurse ( - 5 ), Ekholm ( + 4 )
Jesus. What is up with these Canuck fans? I heard Vancouver was bad, but I did not realize how much it affected the mental state of its citizens. It's like the visible madness and disorder has imprinted itself onto the brains of everyone who lives there. You all need counselling. Or Jesus. Not a Christian either, but maybe it's a better outlet for all of you.
One line that beat an entire Vancouver team lol. Game 1 it wasn’t one line that almost won the game the oilers blew it in the end game 2 yes it was one line but you’ll have games like that.
McDavid 's non call on the high stick ( Drawing blood) allowed the tying goal....Sutherland has never allowed a canuck with this year. He's fair game now for our big guys to give him a punishing ride the rest of the series with intent to injure !
You think your big guys aren't punishing him because they're nice guys? It's hockey, if they could get him, they would. They back off because they're scared of getting burned, not because they don't want to hit him.
@@rsingh8837 Agreed, but they could do something dirty away from the puck or after a whistle to him I suppose. Love watching him drive play and I'm not even an Oilers fan.
1. The refs didnt call the high stick done on Hymans face proir. That should have been a penalty on the Canucks 2. The refs wouldnt let the Oilers have a 2 man advantage, they called a penalty on Hyman for TOUCHING a stick with his hands for a second (it didnt affect the play at all. it was just bs) 3. There was plenty of penalties that werent called on both sides. Are all Canuck fans this victimizing? Do you have the capability to see beyond your own team? there were bad calls on both sides
Screw this League! Letting Mcdavid get away with that high stick is embarrassing! Sadly, the only response should be the Canucks high sticking Mcdavid!
@@stinkfinger630 Did I call you a name? I was just agreeing with you! Can't please anyone. By the way, what makes you believe that you have any idea how long I have been doing anything. Oh right, your undersized brain.
@@jeffginther7931 He WAS modest. Did you fail to notice the part where he said "very few" people could stop him when he's at his best? Because the reality is that *precisely nobody* can stop him when he's at his best. Forced modesty is for idiots. Everyone who's awesome knows they're awesome.
