I think it's a mistake to not take the .50 cal Mules for the Stingers, that's a lot more fire support your infantry could have had in the opener and/or anti-infantry protection for your I-TOW Mules. I'm starting to think F-15s should always be used in pairs at least, and stay at radar missile range if they can and not go head-on into IR/cannon range with enemy planes, you can't afford to risk them. AA Phantoms want to stay at long range even more since they have 5 Sparrows and can't run away from enemy ASFs as fast as F-15s. You were talking about how much infantry hp you had on your front line, I think it's good to get your calculator out like you did with the supply and check how many points per man each squad costs in 101st to see who should be taking hits in infantry combat on the front line and how efficient you need to be with them to break even. Most infantry in the game is about 5 per man, Delta is 12.5, Aero Rifles Dragons are over 8, 101st's most efficient infantry is about a 6, Okhrana are 4.5. It's inefficient to have units like Delta trading fire with stuff like Okhrana on the front lines even if they trade 2 for 1, especially if they have fire support, Deltas should be sneaking around enemy territory providing vision and sniping expensive stuff (CVs, AA, arty, ATGMs) from their max range, they probably won't make their points back fighting regular infantry. 101st cannot afford to fight fair face to face and trade man for man, their infantry is too expensive, they need to leverage some kind of major advantage on their side in every combat, or they will just slowly lose because they mostly get 9 man squads that cost more than other divisions' 11 man squads. I think the designers' intention is that they should take advantage of the mobility from their helos to suddenly overwhelm defenders with multiple big shock squads backed up by fire support from helo gunships. Even if you're outnumbered overall, you can still have local superiority if you have better mobility. If you try to avoid making heavy use of helicopters with them like this and try to play normal with them, they'll just be a worse 82nd with no forward deployment.
You know the quick fix doesn't diminish the accuracy of enemies? The Quick Fix just has Very Good Optics and knocks down Excellent optics on the enemy side. Also they don't get corrected shot within the circle. If you want the enemy to not hit as accurate use the Raven, that's its job :D
I’ve played nothing but 101st on ranked since it came out and here’s what I found: CH supply is good to park in the back as a mobile resupply point for your mule’s and tanks, the AA helos are good, instead of taking pivads or 2nd stinger I take the AA OH and focus on getting air dominance with the Eagles. Enemies will send jets to kill it but if you have 3 + ATAS apache or something sitting over stingers/chapperal and they come strafe you its instant death for that jet and the helis are fast so they can arrive quickly to counter enemy heli threat anywhere on the map. And ideally you want a 2nd ATAS apache because they could strafe the first one with a jet and get lucky and get an instant kill. And EW planes are useless and a waste because you dont get a SEAD option to utilize the radar detection of EW. If the division just had a LGB plane, SEAD and ATAS helis the division would be perfect in my opinion
@@namelessrice I think their SEAD unit is supposed to be their Apaches, if you find and jam radar AA and bait missiles with the Raven, you have a pretty good chance of getting in and hitting with a Hellfire. They can also use artillery to hit any AA the Raven spots.
@@xeroprotagonist Using 3 pts for a card of EW plane that does nothing but “bait shots” seems pretty inefficient to me. Not to mention outside of solo ranked play you definitely want a SEAD plane to combine with the EW in teamplay
@@namelessrice it spots and jams them too, that is important, without that you will be stumbling across radar AA with your helos and they'll have roughly a coinflip's chance of getting hit by the first missile from something like a Roland 3 or Osa, and if you can just spot them, you can target them with artillery. I don't think you'd put the Raven in a 3-point slot either, I think it'd compete for the 2-point plane slot against their bombers. Most people seem to go with the HE Phantom, but I think there's a case for putting any of the other cards in that slot too. With 101st you get one floating 3-pointer after you fill up all your 1s and 2s and I'd really want that to be a third card of AA, and I wouldn't drop any 2-point cards for another plane card.

The HE bombers are literally essential in my game play and I need the AA phantoms too because one eagle card is not enough vs 82nd or other strong AA tabs and you want flexibility. Id rather bait shots with my AA jets than spend 185 income on a useless plane that just loses me tempo. If you watched any replays of my games you would agree with HE bomber usage and Id much rather use those points on another helicopter or recon than waste it on an EW plane. EW planes IMO are the most gimmicky and useless shit in this game. Helis should be used defensively in this deck anyway and I dont ever run them out to get killed like that
@@namelessrice I think you need to be able to use helos offensively too, and you can't let one enemy AA unit in your path totally shut you down, you need some kind of counter-AA tactic, if you systematically wipe out their ASFs and AA then you can just do whatever you want with your helos after that. The HE Phantom is good but it delivers about the same effect as one salvo of 155 or a rocket pod from a light helo, there are alternatives to it in the deck, but there's no other alternative to the Raven's radar detection & jamming that'll help your Apaches & artillery find and kill radar AA to clear the way for your helos to land troops to attack the opponent's back zones. It wouldn't be in the game if it was just a useless waste of points, it might not fit with your playstyle but you're undervaluing what it can do.
I'm trying to decide which one of these I want to get into. Do you think Broken Arrow will be less RNG heavy? It looks closer to World in Conflict, which gave you decent agency over your troop movements etc.
I think the quickfix works against radar aa but not infrared like the stinger. I use it when I see radar aa to protect my apache's in 3rd and that works pretty good.
@@fastfolky EW helos remove corrected shot from arty and decrease exceptional optics by a step, and that’s literarily all they do, no matter what your experience might be :)
