It's NOT MOLD 4 Most Common times people think they have mold but they actually don't 

Ok, I was on my way to flush my brew and scoby down the toilet but I decided to watch one more video about mold, and it looks like my brew is totally fine!

I have no words to thank you for your many examples of a healthy scoby. I received a factory scoby with 2 cups of starter (tastes almost like vinegar). It came under high temperatures. Outside was 99° F, and I guess inside the mail car and warehouses, it was way above that. It traveled for 4 days (under extremes). I was worried it could be dead. It has been in 75 - 79° in my house. I took pictures everyday for 9 days. A new scoby formed with "all sort of weird stuff". It has a combination of almost all pictures you showed. It even formed big, big bubbles in some areas (3"x2"). Now I know it's healthy. I can send you pictures, but it looks like a weird combo of bubbles (many sizes), white and brown stuff, and dangling lines. Thanks. 👍 This is the very best video for new brewers worried about weird looking scobies.

If you think you start to see something that could be mold, just give it time. If it is mold it will quickly enter into a reproductive stage where you will see spores form that give mold it’s typical fuzzy look.

Thank you! My SCOBY has been looking weird, kind of bubbly looking with some whiter spots. I was worried it was mold, but it looks exactly like some of the ones you showed an I think it's ok. Would have been a shame to toss it since its very active

Idk why i tried to make kombucha there is a thin layer floating in my kombucha but my scoby is drowned in the bottom of my jar and there is a dark lump floating on top of my scoby

Hallo sorry for bothering I don’t know if my kombucha is doing well i started brewing recently and gave one of the new scoby’s to my aunt because of the health benefits. It looks like its forming a blister ontop, how will i be able to sent you how looks because i am unsure ❤

Hi Liz, if at all your kambucha gets mold, is there a chance for the mold to go away if you keep the brew for another month or so ? I'm asking this because as I was preparing new batch, just after 7days, some brown yellowish powder formed on the top, Ithought it was spoiled n just forgot to throw it away, after 1 month I noticed that the scoby was white n it looked nice n good.

I have question do i need to close it with lids seal tight or with cloth on top and tie with rope or rubberband... ?

Ok i need help! now I've tried twice to make kombucha without success. First time I did not have a proper cover ans fruit flies got into it. Now is my second time and no scoby formed on top, and there's a small ( seem top be) mold spot on it. The original scoby is sunk at the bottom. It smells good. What am I doing wrong??

Hi! New sub here! 👋🏽 AND first time brewer. Thank you for the content. I started my SCOBY using a bottle of plain GT's and organic tea. After about 2-3 weeks, I had a mother. In my excitement, I sort of moved her around with a silicone kitchen tool while she was still in the jar. She fell to the bottom of the jar, and now, a couple more weeks later, I have another SCOBY that actually looks much better than the original mother. Is this normal? Could I have accidentally produced two SCOBYs?
