It's Our Anniversary and She's Mad at Me! 

I was born and raised in Florida and The Grass Is Always Greener. I would much rather have 100 acres with a creek and Wildlife and being able to hunt and grow whatever I wanted.

I have lived in Florida for almost 60 years and the land in the interior looks just like yours in Oklahoma except we have Palmetto's(a nasty bush you can't walk through) between every tree and it goes on for miles. You should have drove a few more miles and showed her the Hurricane Damage up in the panhandle last year. That would change her tune. And living on the Beach like where you stayed storm surge can be as high as your creek gets and that goes on for miles up and down the beach

I have lived in SW Florida since 1988 and it is nice down here. When you don't live here the time spent here is much more fun. When you live here it is just like being anywhere. You get used to your surroundings and everything becomes normal. Here is 2 short scenarios that explain it better. My first year here I went to the beach every weekend. After that year is became less and less as the beach became normal. Myself and my family always wanted a pool. When we finally had one, you could not pull us out of it and we basically became our pool that first year with it. After that hardly anyone used it and it became work with the upkeep. If you really enjoy something then keep it in doses so it does not become the normal. I was even burnt out on fishing as I was doing it every day and that is my one true love. Now I go fishing about 5 times a year to help put the fun back in it. Florida is fun to live in but your excitement will fade over time as the years tick by. :)

Difficult to homestead in this Florida weather. We are moving north to farm due to heat and restriction. Wildlife is even smaller here, although it is here (SWFL). Keep Florida your vacation haven and your love for it will always remain. Happy to see home had no damages and will keep others in prayers.

I wouldn't trade living where you are now, if they give me the house and land to move to! I love the great outdoors, wildlife and most of all privacy to enjoy those things. Vacation is time enough to enjoy "popular places" because with "popular" always comes "over populated" someone ends vacation, someone's beginning theirs, so it's busy non-stop. Haha! With 2 grown son's, I well know those facial expressions from Dejay, during the photo shoot! Tyfs and God bless.

Sense Emily likes to bake, I've got a 2 ingredient pizza dough recipe for her. 3 cups self-rising flour 2 cups plain Greek yogurt Makes a 12" round pizza or a regular size baking sheet. Mix both ingredients (may need a little extra flour if it's to sticky). Lightly oil a bowl & place dough inside & cover with a dish towel & place in a warm spot for approximately 20 min. Dough should be about double in size. Press or roll out to desired shape & your ready for toppings. Some times I'll add a little garlic powder to the mix or roll up some string cheese around the outside edge of the dough. Maybe she can have some fun with that. Have a great day.

Always good to get home, tired. Thanks for the reminder to pray. Dad shared stories. Picked my aunt's house up, carried it two miles and set it down like a child with a toy. Cherish every minute of family. I just lost my husband of 42 years in February. Our favorite place was smokies mountains. Dont think I can ever go back there now. But I have the memories of our times there with family.

I lived most of my life in N. Florida. While it can be beautiful, it can also be extremely stressful. From June-November every year, your waiting on the next tropical storm/Hurricane to come wash everything you've built away. Yes, there are tornadoes in OK, but hurricanes destroy much larger areas. Add the bugs and humidity on top of it, good riddance, we moved to Tenn.

Yea it dose I live in NW Arkansas and our hay fields are under water. Going out to check on the cows you have drive threw about 2 foot of mud to get to the high ground were the cows are. The news is saying we are getting more storms tonight. We need about a week with sun and no rain to dry things out. I still want to thank all who has-have-will served this great country.

Having holidays in a place and then moving there are 2 different things,you move there when your retired and done with your farm life, the best thing about holidays is getting back home back to work and the things that bring everyday happiness.

From one who was transplanted from Arkansas/Texas to Florida back in 1967, unless you have a real dislike for where you live (and that doesn't seem to be the case), I would not urge you to move to Florida. We've lived in North Central Florida since 1973. I'm not unhappy here, but I still miss "home", and Arkansas will always be "home", unless it gets washed away!

Happy Anniversary! My wife and I celebrated our 47th on the 20th. A close friend retired and moved from Ohio to Florida. His daughter lives there. They spent the summers here in their camper for 5 yrs before moving back. He said he missed the seasons and the summers there are unbearably hot and humid. The grass being greener on the other side of the fence is often cause it get more manure.

Glad everything was ok at home. Sometimes it is better to have a magical place to escape to and a place of roots to live in at. Good luck Lil Miss Emm !! Peace and Love

Happy Anniversary! Florida is wonderful but coming home means so much. I spent winters in Fl and the rest of the year in Indiana on the family farm for quite a few years. I can't travel as much now so stay in Indiana. Still.on the farm. Dont have animals any more and lease the land out to another farmer that raises corn and soy beans. I've subbed and have been watching you videos for several months now. Love the goats and Houston.
