hi op :) this is my favorite dsmp animatic, i'm not even joking. it makes me feel SO bonkers, like, the potential 2 use songs like this for wilbur n l'manberg is SUCH an untapped market!! and when people do tap into it, genius like this comes out and it warms your heart 2 see it, it truly does!! songs that Haunt you with how well they fit, and you know op it just could not have happened without your effort and skill! so thank you. this won't be the last time i thank you either, like i cannot fully explain how i cannot stop thinking about this animatic. really a piece of art, through and through. very good job. narratives and character that i do not feel normally about: wilbur soot's funny little oc. god bless. ohhh the color theory. OH my god when it starts as blue in the beginning, and it's soft, wistful. reminiscing, yeah? [and the part at 'and we fought like it was all some silly game' where wilbur extends his hand and twirls. UGH it's so GOOD your transitions are so natural and smooth] and wilbur looks so tired, the poor man has been running at full capacity for so long now. and tommy just, snoozing. oh it's so calm and relaxed and even quiet, y'know? the calm before the storm, as the saying goes. AND THEN WHEN IT CHANGES 2 RED WITH THE TRANSITION OF HIM WALKINGGG op. op. i feel like this football fans with their foam fingers who scream SO loud. the Cinnamon Tography of it all. wilbur's violence. oh my godd the whole 'reinvention // fusion // freedom // her attention' and 'bold // precise // experimental' with all the. UGH it works so WELL for their characters. ohh the reinvention for quackity and fundy. the fusion for bad and skeppy. the freedom for eret and niki and the PRECISE AND EXPERIMENTAL FOR TECHNO AND THEN TECHNO N WILBUR!! GOD listen rebecca sugar you have created a perfect wilbur song and i wish i was joking, i really do. thank you so much op. also god, the 'who am i now in this world without her // petty and dull with the nerve to doubt her // what does it matter it's already done // now i've got to be there for her son' ALWAYS makes me tear up so bad. how fast wilbur moves around and his tears, and then when he reaches for the patch he doesn't even TOUCH it but the way he has his hand above it and the way he looks at it is so weirdly gentle. god. AND MAN, everybody talks about how fundy and wilbur were already strained bc of sally and how fundy was babied during l'manberg [bc fundy very much played him as An Adult by the time of the revolution. he's naive but he's still an adult and wilbur treats him like a child] and then fundy just! drops his dad when wilbur gets exiled! nobody TALKS about that and it makes me feel so [screams] bc it DEFINITELY made everything worse. like, relationships of any kind are a two-way street and seeing fundy destroy the flag wilbur designed/niki made, WHILE niki was stuck in manburg and WHILE wilbur was too at odds with himself and scrambled to be able to get her out of there are narrative choices that haunt me 2 this day. the little tears on wilbur's face when fundy confronts him, also. [covers my face] There's So Much In This. also the way you illustrate techno and fundy in specific is so good. genuinely i love when people draw them as actual furries, for lack of better terms. it just feels organic. the yellow for their victory, which is supposed 2 be happy, the transition 2 the eyelashes [which were drawn so pretty by the way. Hello] and they WON and it's so victorious and tommy and tubbo are celebrating with everyone!! GOD and all i feel is brokenhearted. the look on wilbur's face KILLS me and he's just standing alone! because he lost since the moment schlatt took the election! honestly, he'd lost since the moment he started the revolution but i don't think we have time 2 discuss that [pained] LMAO. god when he was like 'i'll be back in a second' in the stream. pictures taken seconds before disaster. AND THEN WHEN HE [DRAGS MY HANDS DOWN MY FACE] PUTS HIS HANDS ON THE WORDS 'MY L'MANBERG' wilburrrr. hey buddy, how is the illness? bad? [crying] can i also point out the way you draw tears is so good. it's Just So Good, Trust Me. and when it transitions 2 phil on 'loved you' it makes me feel so [starts pacing] and the!! the little detail of him grabbing his beanie. thank you, i feel like the beanie is very underutilized. it's a very good detail!! AGAIN THANK YOU. I'VE SAID THAT SO MUCH BUT I MEAN IT!!!

In the song when it says “Now I’ve got to be here for her son” and it shows Fundy, really got me thinking. Because to be honest, Wilbur always saw Fundy as L’manburgs son, not his. Thats why Fundy felt so neglected in the first place, he lacked that one on one bond with his father. And now Wil is finally realizing, yeah now I’ve *got* to be there for my son. I know this was probably unintentional but still cool.

THIS IS SO PERFECT PLEASE YOU PICKED THE BEST SONG AND OH MY GOD THOSE COLORS AND EVERYTHING THIS IS INSANE

Why does every line of the song make perfect sense holy crap, like I was thinking “who’s gonna be the ‘her’ in this song” and it was L’Manburg and with that context it just fits so well and saying “she’s gone” like the old L’Manburg is gone, at least to Wil, and I don’t know, but the way Ghostbur just peacefully floated up at the end to show that Wilbur died instead of showing the actual death was a nice change, and I think it fit this song. I have more thoughts but this comment be getting kinda long lol, great job :)

THIS. This is so brilliantly thought out. Wilbur not being able to move past all of his history with L'Manberg is so well portrayed here. I especially love how the strongest part of the song was fit with Wilbur blowing everything to pieces. Beautifully done.

I love how dream smp animators are using SU tracks for the animatics. ITS SO GOOD.

The fact that even if Wilbur finally relinquished his deluded dreams and possessiveness over L'Manburg in the end, him still remaining there as a ghost and never "moving on" may point to him never truly letting go of it. Edit: Fantastic Animatic btw!!!

This song adds to the list of reasons why I love wilbur's character. He's so selfish and selfless at the same time its beautiful hypocrisy that I love in characters

The personification that was used to describe L'manberg as "her" and having feelings and being loved by Will was GENIUS

i didn't expect to be ugly crying about wilbur's death months after it happened but here we are,, the way you showed his dissent and breakdown at the button, and then ghostbur floating up,,, you reminded me how tragic his character was mANNNNN

I would've never thought of this song fitting the narrative of Wilbur's character on the DSMP. I can't appreciate you enough for connecting the dots and bringing this animatic to life. Everything just fits so perfectly, every line could have a deeper meaning in the story of lmanberg and just, look at it! She (as in Lmanberg) chose jschlatt, shes gone, as in, well, we know what Wilbur did... I love how you made this work,, On a side note, I remember someone making a connection in the comment section of a different video saying that there are certain parallels between steven and ghostbur Steven, a genuinely nice and loving kid, being (low-key) blamed for the disappearance of rose and suffers the consequences of his dead mother (who may or may not have been a good guy, she was a grey character. Good and bad) that gave up her life for him to exist. Ghostbur, in the words of Tommy, is poggers. He got blamed for lmanberg being blown up, though he did not have his memories, he suffers from the consequences of alivebur and guilt of his past self's actions (alivebur being a supposed hero become villain) that asked to be killed, to escape this world. Also again Really, this was an absolutely beautiful animatic ❤️

Her attention 1:24 makes it sound like Wilbur had an unhealthy obsession with lmanburg WHICH I LOVE

Damn this animatic was genius! I was moved by it! The song really suits how Wilbur could never seem to move on from his defeat after the election. Maybe it was pride or maybe it was because he lost ''her'' (Aka L'manberg) to someone he didn't see worthy enough to take care of her. And that really shows in this animatic. How he threw away everything and thought only L'manberg mattered. perfect animatic!

Now we need what's the use of feeling blue for Ghostbur

Honestly when I realized that the ‘her’ was L’manburg, or I guess just Marburg at that time, I just thought “oh this is going to be sad”. It’s really good, and really sad, and kinda made me think about Wilbur. He never accepts that the L’manburg he knew is gone and that it’s time to move on, he just trying to win it back even though he lost, ignoring his friends and his son. This is a really good portrayal of how he ended up losing his mind over it...

It hurts 10x worse when you remember the whole reason he made L'manburg was for it to be a safe haven. It was his home, his family. And to think that he fought and sacrificed, only for it to turn on him? He was already cracking, but that *broke* him. Poor Wil

i’m being so genuinely honest when i say i could feel this in my heart. all of wilbur’s feelings i immediately understood in this animatic and i just have to give you SO many props for truly having and GIVING that vision and emotion in this video. truly spectacular

you know when you have a realistic dream and you forget about it and then some months later it comes to life? and that is very specific? i just read the first part of the current top comment "The ‘her’ in question being L’Manberg is actually genius.", and it just clicked, and i was in that moment again in the past, before I even know what L'Manberg was. Wilbur does embody Pearl very well in the emotional sense up until he goes mad. All he wanted was so,etching for his people. Thereby neglecting his son when he only wanted a nation for him and forgot how to be there for him. It’s poetic, and tragic.

Ohhhhhh my god, this fits him so well. Especially capturing that fact that he went crazy initially from panic and grief. EXACTLY like how people would go crazy after someone they loves dies. UGH IT'S SO GOOD

i never would have thought this song would be used in a dream smp animatic but heck, you really made me think twice about this song - never would i have thought of twisting "her" into l'manberg, ITS SO COOL. so creative

"Who am I now in this world without her, petty and dull with a nerve to doubt her" That line fits way too well with "her" being L'manburg Wilbur was the president but without L'manburg who is he now? Petty and dull, "dull" his sadness towards losing L'manburg and his "pettiness" leading to doubts and turning on L'manburg And then the doubts he had about L'manburg, thinking if he was the villian now, leading him to destroy it since he can't have it.

Techno and Fundy’s designs are so good though?? Techno is so menacing and so stoic without going overboard, and Fundy looks so young. They’re amazing

This is honestly one of my favourite animatics just because I love the crossover between su and dsmp, my past hyperfixation and my comfort show being mixed with my current hyperfixation brings me so much happiness

OMG I WAS LISTENING TO THIS SONG COUPLE OF DAYS AGO THINKING HOW WELL IT WOULD FIT! thank you for making this. also the fact he is adressing Lmanburg as her, even when she says "who she'd chose" only shows how Wilbur is convinced whole Lmanburg has betrayed him. he adresses all of them as one person, one unity, he is unable to see past black and white and only sees the results. and results are that he lost. this tells alot about what he sees in Lmanburg. He sees his one country, one goal, his one creation, he doesn't see individual people in it, people who are all different and not necessarily everyone is against him. he doesn't care. he lost her, they don't matter, they are just a part of her.

The duality in the phrase "It's over" hurts me wow XD It originally was about the election and their loss but then came to represent Wilbur's state of mind and belief that L'Manburg is over. GOSH this brings feels. Thank you for your song choice, symbolism, and character focus :,D This was lovely!

Wow you connected two things I liked and thought about in a manner that I'd never thought of but also felt so natural. It's conceptually mind blowing and the drawings just build on it so well. The two JShlatt images at 0:35 really portrays how people who dislike him (in the story) see him. To do that with two shots with one that doesn't show the back is amazing. Love it and can't wait to see what you do next.

Okay I don't usually say this much but- That was incredible. The choice of song was perfect, I didn't realise how much it fit dsmp story until I saw your animatic. The expressions, especially how Willbour changed as the song progressed, it was just so on point. And the ending, the culmination of it all. All the emotions just pressing, you could cleary see it. I love the Ghostbour bit at the end, it shows that he's finally free of it all. Amazing job with this!

Hi, I know you made this a month ago, but this is incredible. It literally makes me cry every time😭 I love this song it goes so well with the L’manburg plot. Also having the Fundy part made me ball my eyes out, because it’s one of my favorite arcs. But seriously, good job!! Animations are so hard, and this is fantastic!

I love the very end. (And the whole thing LOL.) It was like he thought it’d be done and he could move on once it was blown up, but realized he couldn’t. I don’t know if that’s what you were going for but that’s what I got from it and I thought it was a really interesting and different perspective to what I originally interpreted his motive for asking for what he asked Phil to do. Wilbur’s internal conflict is strangely under represented imo and I love this portrayal of it.

Dude this hits real hard after all that crap, also adding the audio from that one Steven universe episode I can’t remember- Gives me memories.
