The Requiem in D minor, K. 626, is a requiem mass composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. in 1791. This piece specifically was composed for the Lacrimosa, a part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass. The term Lacrimosa comes from Our Lady of Sorrows, a title given to The Virgin Mary.
