There is a storm brewing off the coast and it's raining shells at that Bar Head rocks!! Today Kim and I hit the beach for a 2 day shelling adventure! This video is part one and next week will be part 2! There are so many great shells we have to make 2 videos! There were so many treasures washing up! Mega Moons galore! Our virtual shelling adventure is crazy good today! We also found some deep water Shells, XL surf clams and some live creatures!! So many unique beach finds! It's Coconuts and bananas!!!

Hi Mary Ann! It was so fun! It was a great idea Susan had. It also gives me a purpose! haha. Before I would find the shells and most of the time put them back - my shell collection is out of control. Haha. Now I can shell for people :) I love it!

I have only found 2 of those in my life and they were both live so they stayed at the beach. Someday I hope to find one that I can add to my collection! I also hope to travel someday to shell different beaches! That would be amazing!

Hi Kimberly! It wasn't too cold, but the deeper I got, it of course became icy for sure! The tide pools are nice and warm though - nice and shallow and heated! Haha. It was such a great day. I am still smiling!

Hi Jamie, I think it is a great idea of purchasing a shell hunt and looking forward to this opportunity. I have been watching and enjoying your videos for a while. You succeed in passing to viewers your enthusiasm and beauty of the ocean life. I first got interested in collecting shells after my visit to Sanibel in April and when we came back home to Connecticut I still felt this strong pull of the ocean. Your videos showed to me that if you are searching you will be able to find beautiful shells and sea life in colder northern waters. I started collecting shells that can be found on the beaches near my home.

Hi Anna! This is so wonderful to hear! Welcome to the shell community! Everyone is so nice and there are so many shells and so many beaches to explore! I grew up in Norwalk CT and there are some awesome oyster shells in that area that you can collect! Also in NJ and NY you can find amazing knobbed and channeled whelks in the fall and winter! I get so excited it's hard to contain the joy that the beach and shells bring me! Haha. Hello my friend! When I was in the water all I could think of was JAWS. lol. I am safe though! Haha. Well...those birks are 8 years old. I have 2 types of shoes in my life...type 1 - NEW. Those don't go to the beach. Type 2 -- those that are ready to be retired - those are my beach shoes. I do have to say, those Birks can take a beating. I wear them everywhere and noting destroys them! lol. For the shell hunt... I listed my 1st shell hunt right before this video dropped. It included, all the shells (cleaned and packed), a Plum Island Sea Cabin Tshirt, a Plum Island Sea Cabin shell bag, A shout out in the video, Some bonus shells from my personal collection oh and a note card / thank you for $134. I am going to list another one in a couple weeks and may do a RU-vid giveaway for one :) That could be fun. I may also do a mini version. I live in SC so although shelling is great on my favorite Edisto Island, we don't find the same shells and I love those big moons and huge surf clams. Cold water shelling around all the rocks is so different. Her videos are my happy place when I can't go to the beach. Your idea was fantastic. Loved it!!

Hi Beverly! For clear coat I go to my local hardware store and in the spray paint department there is clear coat spray. You can get high gloss, gloss satin or matte. I prefer satin or gloss. Hi gloss it a bit too much I think, but it's really personal preference. Let me know how you do! Thanks for always watching friend!

So many ideas 💜 Keep a lookout on my Etsy page and I'll also update everyone in my videos. With winter storms coming this can be fun. It was a great idea Susan had. It also gives me a purpose! haha. Before I would find the shells and most of the time put them back - my shell collection is out of control. Haha. Now I can shell for people :) I love it!

@@PlumIslandSeaCabin living in Connecticut most of my life I don't know why I never heard of plum Island. I do alot of shelling here in Florida. Perhaps we could swap shells. I get many deep water shells here. 🐚. Our moon shells aren't a 1/4 as big as yours are. I would love a few big shells you get. We will talk ok? I love ❤️ your videos. They make me not miss home as much. Thanks for being there for my miss NEW England days with sand and beach.

Hi there! Yes - sure thing! I have put them on hold right now because I am waiting for some good winter storms to hit. That is when we get a real good amount of shells and larger ones too! Once I see one coming I will post a shell hunt for sale on my Etsy page. I think I will talk about it a bit in an upcoming video so that everyone knows they are coming and I haven't forgotten about them :)

Hi Cathy! I have them on hold for right now as I had a couple work trips. Once the winter storms amp up I will do another giveaway and put one or 2 for sale on my Etsy page. I generally charge $130 to collect, clean, box and ship. I also include a tshirt, stickers, a shell bag, a shout out in the video and some mystery shells from my personal collection.
