My old friend RD Price directed this episode. The first episode he ever directed. The original script was VERY dark and read like an excellent Stephen King short story. In the episode they mention pets disappearing. In the script, the kid had a tooth collection and labeled each tooth with the name of the pet he killed and took it from. He tried to throw his sister of the roof. I was on set for a part of the exorcism scene.
Yep, 5 seasons of Angel. Angel season 4 aligns with Buffy season 7, the last season of Buffy. Angel season 5 then is the last season of the Buffyverse on TV.
Obviously this episode was a homage to The Exorcist. Some disturbing scenes with the possession, but then The Demon saying the child was actually pure evil in human form, a great chilling twist to the episode. Hey Vic as you mentioned it of course BTVS is the legacy show, but going forward Angel has some incredible episodes with amazing plot lines, it is of course its own show you will see it develop and will be amazed as you continue your viewing.
I still remember that little rhyme about Lizzie Borden, "Lizzie Borden took an axe, she gave her mother forty whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one." She was the OJ Simpson of her time. Despite being acquitted at trial, everyone still thinks she killed her father and stepmother.
As a rule, I usually watch your reactions from beginning to end, but this is one episode that I cannot bring myself to watch completely. I did give the video a 👍 however.
l've always interpreted what the demon said as meaning the boy is soulless rather than a psychopath. What that means in the Buffyverse I'm not sure, but what the demon describes sounds like something beyond human evil.
