@@petermarshall6577 nothing personal but this is the worst take. Your team has been fortunate to have high quality goalies from Thomas/Rask/Ullmark/swayman. You do not want to know what it's like to be a fan of a team with no legit goalie in the pipeline. It sucks. It hurts knowing you could score 4+ a night and still have a losing record.

Clearly Swayman doesn’t understand how negotiations work then because if he asked for 10 million and the Bruins offered him 6.5 then guess what’s in the middle of that? Contract the Bruins just offered him is the fifth richest in history and they have enough to go as high as to make them the fourth highest paid goalie ever if they offer him 8.5…. Swayman took the Bruins to arbitration and then got mad when they said they couldn’t trust him in the playoffs enough to pay him 6 million after one year in the NHL, and he had a sub .900 playoff save percentage at the time. I’m not gonna hear it anymore. He has never had external competition and before he stood on his head in Toronto for six games, he was nowhere near this conversation. He has decided to make this personal and toy with the entire timeline of $1 billion franchise. This isn’t about respect. I’m tired of this. He needs to take it and be grateful. They offered him a bridge deal to prove he was worth vasilevsky money just like every other goalie he thinks he’s comparable too but instead, he wants to have his cake and eat it. The offer is more than fair.

And as far as the Ullmark situation, I’m done writing novels about that crap too because if they didn’t trade him before July 1, he could ammend his NTC to VETO the last trade that was left on the table. they’d be stuck in the exact same situation with his contract on the books, w no cap space to offer Swayman a deal and no free agent signings at all. and if you don’t like what they got then from Ottawa, just wait until you have to trade a VEZINA goaltender and you're 10 million over the cap. The agent Lewis Gross was well aware of that timeframe and the conundrum that put the Bruins in. He could’ve easily just left them on read until July 2 and taken them to the cleaners which is exactly what he’s doing.

@@hockeytalk6084 well when he gets traded and your team sinks to the bottom of the standings, I hope your happy clearing them in the standings basement. Boston doesn't have the depth scoring and overall skill to overcome having an average goalie in net like some other teams can. They have 2-4 good forwards and then it's ahl/4th line guys. I know what it's like to route for a team with no goalie, trust me it's a mistake if they bumble this worse than they have so far and trade him.
