bear in mind though, UK cashbuilders are £1,000 per correct answer in 1 minute, USA cashbuilders are $5,000 per correct answer in 45 seconds. This makes it very hard to compare winnings as there are huge differences in cash taken to the table.
My only complaint so far with the show is Brooke, but she may yet turn out to be really good at hosting. Even Bradley Walsh was a bit green in the first season on ITV.
Watch the episode where he had to do a final chase against a single opponent, I believe his name was Raj. He acted as a bit of a villain in the first chase, but after the final chase was over, he was very much a good sport.
I'd say those questions were quite a bit harder than those on the UK version. I don't think there's ever been a question on Aristotle in the final chase!
Her question reading pace is just fine! He got 6 questions wrong (1 of which the Christ the redeemer he actually knew but to late) and the winning team got 3 push backs he lost by only 2 questions had he made less errors he would have stopped them from winning.
It's probably just me that haven't watched the full episode, but I think the sounds aren't so heart-stopping. Final Chase sounds can be much more tense than this. Buuuut on the other hand, execution is excellent. Audience seems involved, gameplay is still really tense. Great job!
Regardless, this is easily the highest payout in GSN history thus far. All we need now is for someone to beat the Supercoin in Minute To Win It. They'll be the next game show legend if they make it happen, I assure you.
I've seen this and the UK version and I was a bit disappointed with this one. 3 players rather than 4 and the host reads the questions very slowly. All Brooke Burke does is to serve as eye candy.
I just saw this episode and was surprised that the team won. Now I realize that the show just started, but with only 8 episodes for season one, which episode was this, because I saw the last part of one other episode.
Hi Baz, I'm waiting to see if anyone else is uploading it in better quality than this. I don't have the equipment I used to use anymore and just threw this up using my phone. Until I get some new capturing equipment, videos are on the back burner for me. If no one takes care of it in the next few days though I'll try to get the whole show up for you. (Also need to check with GSN to make sure they won't get upset about it. Disney's been good to me so far but I've never dealt with GSN.)
I wonder if they continue for another season or two, would they ask Ken Jennings to be a possible Chaser to go with Mark. And now i'm thinking if the show Pointless would make the same jump...
This is weird as I'm so used to the UK version! The chaser never looks so annoyed when they lose in the final chase, he seems to be portrayed more as a villain in the US, called on the Beast and probably told to look angry. In the UK they are very gracious in defeat.
s nick if you are right on that point then you are right in a sense that Brooke asks the questions faster to the contestants closer to time expiring. she doesnt say it faster to the Beast, unlike her counterpart in the UK, who DOES ask the questions to the Chasers faster
"try to copy"? You should understand how international television licensing works. Most of the time other countries do not go out and look for shows to license (or "copy" as you put it), they are presented and offered by the creators. "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" is a prime example: we didn't want it. It took multiple tries to get a network to become interested in it, and it only worked out because the producer at the time decided to put his career on the line with trying it and the network picked it up as a last ditch-effort to stay in business.
In the English version's defense, the only time they have a real audience is when it's a celebrity show and they are extremely enthusiastic in that case. All of the other shows have dubbed in audience cheers and applause.
