Have you ever seen the episode where kangaroos break into the studio, and distract mark, making him lose the final chase, at which point, he walks off and pushes a kangaroo over as he leaves, saying he's never competing in Australia again????

Gracious? He started pouting and didn’t stop once he missed the Taj Mahal question, whined that he missed and handed them the game, then left quickly (which I’ve never seen another chaser ever do) and punched the set because he lost. One of the poorest shows of sportsmanship I’ve seen.

I stopped watching the British version after its host gave an egregious example of naked racism when introducing Shaun Wallace. Something like, When he washes his face, how does he know when it's clean? You could hear the crowd gasp amid the canned laughter. In the 21st century. It was like Bernard Manning had risen from the dead. An utter fool.

That can be said about most of our gameshows that other countries copy though.

At least the Chasers don't have to buzz in and wait for their name to be called out, before they can answer. They do have THAT time benefit over the contestants. It may not be much, but every second or two having to buzz in does add up. The same happens on the UK version. You can sometimes tell when they want the contestants to win or not, by how slow or fast Bradley reads the questions also.

What you find enraging we in Oz find engaging!

I know what you mean, Michael Ross. Mark gets the hump a lot when he's losing, whether it's on the Aussie version or UK version. In fact, the very clip I watched right before this one, was Mark walking out in a bad mood after he lost on the UK version. And these two incidents are NOT rare occurrences, sadly. Mark's ego is much larger than he is.

They can only give a right answer to a numerical question if Mark got it wrong. The one about the Taj Mahal was easy, and I don’t know how Mark missed it.

@@brontewcat Whilst that is true, if Mark gets a numerical question wrong then they get a chance to answer, knowing that it is not Mark's answer, is I think the point others are making. So if a contestant maybe thought the answer was either one or two and Mark gives a wrong answer..... And he often gets wrong answers that he actually knows due to answering too quickly in order to get on with the next question. Even when he knows the answer and gets it right, he does a 'move on' hand gesture to try to hurry things along.

And the Chasers have a GAIN of precious seconds over the contestants, by not having to buzz in and wait for their name to be called, before being able to answer.

Nah I doubt the chaser gets the prize money, but I did always think that there must be a financial bonus for them if they win. There would have to be something to act as an incentive to beat the team, otherwise why would the chaser be bothered to screw them out of thousands when he/she could easily and deliberately get answers wrong or waste time?

NO! Mark almost always behaves like a spoilt brat when he loses. And salivates childishly when he beats mere amateur contestants, like he's beaten the best quizzers of all time. And ALL quiz/trivia shows, all over the world, are fixed to allow the contestants to win now and then. Otherwise no-one would watch it or wanna go on the show. Plus, Mark did himself no favours by letting his anger get the best of him, forcing himself to jump in too quickly, too often, and not listen to more of the question before blurting out what he THINKS is the answer. He's admitted that several times over the years, that he lets his frustrations get in the way and he needs to learn to slow down at those times. But he obviously hasn't learnt, because he's been doing it for years.
