It's time I was honest with myself about my collection... 

This is such an important video, and I’m so glad that the term “collection goal” is at the forefront of a lot of modern collectors minds. Everyone needs to think about exactly what they want their collection to be, and aim for that goal! 🎉

I realy love to see people treating their collection as art pieces and taking time to find a structure and how to organize it to reflect the collector and his own importance and value for each of them. Your wargreymon/blackwargreymon "mirror" pages are a really cool example of it :)))

I have a similar collection, can’t wait to share it with RU-vid. The most important thing for me is to enjoy the collection as well. I came to terms on what I wanted to keep and I’m selling everything else.

Hello from Orlando, Florida! I relate to this video. I have so much Digimon bulk that I need to sort through. I also have a problem with hoarding bulk and having nowhere to go with it. I'm also worried about storage space because I'm planning on getting into Disney Lorcana when it comes out later this year, and more card games = more bulk... 🙃

Going through bulk and re evaluating a collection is one of the most cathartic things I've ever experienced. I think I needed to hear a lot of what you had to say about the process for my own collection needs :)

Not Digimon related, but I had to do this to my comic collection. I was collecting everything for over 10 years and noticed it started to affect how I enjoy the hobby. I had to change and started collecting only characters who I care about. This is the mindset I will go for when I get into tcg games.

It must have taken you a long time to sort everything based on how dark it looked outside when you were done! I just sorted through all of my Pokemon bulk from the previous two sets and have really decided to take a step back and analyze where my spending with Pokemon is going to be going into Scarlet and Violet. We just bought a house recently which has been the main deciding factor in scaling back purchases and only picking up stuff that I enjoy - I also enjoy the character cards quite a bit! I'll still keep my binders of each set but they're so incomplete and I know I won't be spending the money tracking down all the secrets and alt arts so I'll just fill them in with singles over time. I think it works the best for me :)

Thank you for sharing where you're currently at with collecting, sometimes we need to take a step back and evaluate what each one really means beyond collecting for collecting's sake.

Im oddly sat doing this myself with my miniatures collection, book collection and card collections. Im realising how much Ive kept, just for no reason and its feeling great to have a clear out. freeing almost.

Having a clear outline of what/how you want to collect is also vital for not overspending. Over the last year I learned that what I enjoy most is buying 2-4 boxes of each Japanese Pokemon set and collecting all the ultra rares (v, vmax, vstar, etc.), radiants, CHRs, and ARs. As for the secret rares, I only collect what I open from those boxes. Each set makes for a nice 2-page binder spread & I fill the empty slots with my favorite artworks from each set. My English binder is a lot more incomplete and random because my English card purchases were more impulsive and random (and I don't want to buy English versions of the Japanese cards I already own) - so I don't get a ton of enjoyment from looking at it.

Making collection goals is a really good idea. I am just getting into the digimon tcg and I am going to get into the One Piece card game. I have been collecting pokemon, and my rule of thumbnail for buying singles is it has to be a pokemon or trainer I really like and think are cool. Keep up the good work with your channel you are making great content. A lot of modern collectors just binge collect with no game plan. This video is going to help me narrow down my goal for other cards I want.

Pretty solid. I got most of my full art trainers years before the hype, lucky for me, I didn't have to pay the ridiculous prices that they are now. Best of luck, it's hard not going crazy, and wanting every card just because it's pretty. The struggles of a collector are real.

Great Video! Got just recommended to me and really enjoyed it, because I always kinda think about how I want to go about my Collection of Digimon Cards and especially my AAs are getting a bit all over the place. Also got the idea to add collection goals to single cards instead of all cards to digimoncard app, so that's good :D

Great video and good to see you are setting goals and focusing on good card storage. Being a player and collector brings different challenges. Having a playset of each card in bulk storage boxes is the smart move and the excess can then be traded or sold. Looks like you're on a great path with clear objectives.

Use dividers for each color or set. I found it easier to get 500 to 800 card boxes and just keep 1 to 2 sets per

My collection goals are to try to get as many cards as I can afford even if I have to buy singles. And of course booster boxes are a bit harder depending on the prices and where I shop from. And I still need to make decks for tournaments too.

So I need to set up youtube notifications to not miss these. Karen told me about this. I've just finished organising the starter decks and BT1-10 and EX1-3. I have to do my binder of alts.

My closet has become a storage place for bulk and sometimes I can store an occasional suit. I'm about to offload them all to a new card store opening up here. Best of luck, collections for me are artwork I enjoy and shiny stuff. I do feel like a crow sometimes lol Ahhh yes the box, I get them done at the stores because I'm gonna mess them up lol

Collection goals are important but this is a very hard step. My Pokemon TCG collection was all over the place, but once I realized what I wanted to focus on, my binder looks better than even. In my case it was full art GX pokemon, individually they are not the prettiest but since they are all in the same style it looks great. Selling the odd rainbows and full art trainers extras was tough, but I completed my goal with the extra funds they provided.

Collection goals is something I never really considered. I’ve only just got into collecting so this video has been very helpful. As always I look forward to the next video!

I also came to realisation I can’t just collect all the sets and with the speed they all coming out … I’m going to fail anyway and go broke in the same time. I am happy that people like PokeMert and Braysh give good advices haha so I changed my approach on collecting in 2023

as i was creating my koki binder i came to realize i shouldnt color code these and rather just put them in the same family or whatever to make more sense of it def bring me back to when i was collecting pokemon

I still haven't gotten around to organizing my Digimon and Pokemon bulk yet 😂 only thing I have organized are all my SRs and SECs for Digimon

thats a really good way of organising a collection, mine is a bit crazy and there's a lot of V and VMAX cards and im not a huge fan of them to be honest XD

Perfect timing. I've been organizing my collection recently and had the same thoughts like am I really appreciating the cards I collect or am I just giving into the FOMO.

I have to admit my collection is all over the place. Like my pokemon collection is definitely hitting for legendaries and starters (my daughter loves looking at them) and my digimon collection well we don't talk about that 😂

I only play and collect Digimon (no other TCGs) so I don't have to worry about other franchises, but my digimon stuff is pretty organized. I'm trying to have 1 of each card from all the sets. And if the card has an alt art, I try to get them as well. I want to have 1 of all of the promos as well, but I'm less pressed on those (especially some of the more expensive ones). And I have binders where I am storing these master sets. For my bulk, I have them all sorted by set and by number in each set. And I have 1 big box full of what I call "Good Cards". These are the cards in the colors and archetypes that I enjoy and want to have set aside for any decks I might want to assemble.

I can’t wait until scarlet and violet comes out. The art is amazing so for and great for collectors and competitive players. Also I’m somewhat sad for rainbow rare cards going because some of them looked amazing like the pikachu and charizard cards.

I need to sort my card collections too since I’ve moved house recently I’ve got to seriously look into to my cards properly cause I’m finding them all over the place & that bugs me a lot. Personally I prioritize on Cardfight Vanguard cause that is the one Cardgame I mainly play competitively Yugioh I’ve played for over 10 years b4 I realized how Toxic the tournament environments were and decided to Retire from it Pokemon I just collect for fun especially Lucario one I plan to make a Collage of them in a big picture frame During lockdown my friend wanted to help his nephew learn the game so he me to play with him to sharpen his skills which I gotten a Inteleon Battle League deck just to train & learn the game but I ended up beating him to his Charizard & Electric type decks & is now afraid of playing me 😢😢. But with Digimon it’s more about Veemon decks at first but the more I played the more fun I had but it wasn’t easy it was hard knowing what moves to make in battle cause the one thing that annoys me is the memory system I wound up giving my mates too much memory to play with but coming my turns they gave me less to play with 😖😖. But where I’m at I love the games mainly for their artwork like in Vanguard the artworks are so stunning and beautiful to look even the commons are so nice to look at and Digimon is the same way for me cause their artworks are amazing too but I have six decks now 3 of them based on Veemons Different ways to Digivolve then my other 3 decks are Gallantmon Ragnalordmon & Alphamon X-Antibodies. Well now Im going back to sleep 😴 now so I’ll bid you a-due for now Strawberrypi but b4 I go where did you get those Deck Vault binders from the ones with the zippers cause my holos could really do them & that box is perfect for my Commons 🤩🤩. I wish it wasn't in my nature (because it's expensive), but I love collecting master sets. The alt arts in digimon are gorgeous. My initial digimon collection goal was to finish BT6 after chasing ghost omnimon and BT5 because Zwart Defeat looks amazing. From there, however, I was totally hooked. But instead of chasing BT7 at the time, I decided to go back to older sets in case they went out of print. So next was BT1, BT2, and BT3. Now I'm chipping away at the other BTs in order. Finished BT4 last week (of which has some really banger AAs. They look so much better in person). Bt7's next. Collected Ex01 in there somewhere because the alt arts from that set some of my favorites. I'm slowing down now, as It's getting harder and harder to keep up. Lol, bandai loves pumping out new sets. I'm very excited for EX-04. Naochika Morishita pretty much owns my wallet. Love the video. Collection goals are very important. GL achieving your goals everyone!

Hi you don't know me but I am a big fan! (yes you have fans, or A fan at least haha) I have repeatedly subscribed and unsubscribed from your channel... Because your amazing videos keep urging me to purchase all the Digimon TCG goodness the world has to offer! And I not disciplined enough to prioritise the cost of living before purchasing a Digimon booster box lol! A long time ago I was torn between Dragonball Super TCG and Digimon... I chose DBS only because in comparison I knew more about the characters and lore. However I always thought Digimon TCG had/has the best artwork of any TCG. I just wanted to collect, which I did. But I constantly found myself coming to watch your videos and battling uncontrollable urges to purchase booster boxes LOL And on the 8th I for the first time ever downloaded a app and learnt how to play a TCG - Digimon. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thus ended up breaking and buying some cards hahaha. I think you should set up a Ko-Fi or Buy me a Coffee page! We know you do this purely to share your passion, that is clear and plain to see. But I'm sure we - your fans (especially Me) would love to support you anyway we can. Forgive me if I’m wrong but you seem somewhat stressed about the Pokémon side of your collection. I think you’ll find clarity on your collection goals by sorting out your collection and refocusing on what you want to collect going forward

I just started watching your videos within the last week. Just a suggestion if you read this message. If you could make a video with your deck profiles, maybe casual battles with friends of yours, maybe budget builds. You seem to have a very casual style reminds me a bit of Team APS with Yu-Gi-Oh. A few of their members have started playing Digimon on their smaller 2nd channel and RU-vid recommended your channel. Hope to see more content.

for digimon I just collect alts and secrets and put them in penny sleeves top loaders and team bags the rest of the set goes in a binder. For Pokémon since a lot of the alts are expensive I just pick up some here and there and do the same thing I dot with digimon. I’m also getting into collecting XY era cards some of them are dirt cheap compared to “moderner” cards within a few years it’ll be harder to find them in great condition and they will be vintage so the price will rocket so I’m getting them while I can. This was a nice informative video
