A coach with a good eye usually gives us 80% of the recipe. The other 20% usually is up to us to figure out how to do it. Sometimes it's paying more attention to the ball at certain phases, or adjusting the grip a little differently, or putting the racquet in a different position. It is really a journey . Happy you are in the right way , impressed with your transparency to share everything with us. This can help lots of people. Thanks for sharing.

This is great. Takes a lot of humility to make technical changes at your level.

if your ball goes short I think the problem isn't so much the timing but the lack of drive in your swing. the fact that your point of contact is close to the body is probably due to a very vertical swing. if you compare yourself with Rune's forehand the most obvious thing is that you close the shot immediately while Rune has a wider swing. try adding more horizontality. my 2 cents

Keep playing Radical man, you play great with it, if you change racket will only bring excuses like TennisNerd says, opening a can of doubt lol IMO

100% feel you - tried to fix the same problem during this winter. however, now I‘m stuck on the sidelines with massive wrist problems 🙈 Trying to play with my left hand in the meantime and I don‘t have these problems as I have to learn everything from scratch on this side 😅

Was about to comment about Rune being a good example while the video was playing and then you mentioned him yourself. When I coach I often show him as an example for players who prep late so they have someone to emulate. Then I tell them to not emulate his behavior 😆.

I made a smilar mistake of going too heavy on my rackets and definitely had a negative impact on my forehand, all though helps with my single hander. Coming from a head extreme you shoud really try babolat pure aeros, both 98 and 100. Super stable and well refined comparing to earlier versions. I play with a vcore 100 customised to 340g but not necessarily for eveyone :))

10 gram less to hold up haha, sorry but I would be able to understand that less weight at 12:00 has an effect as the swing weight can feel heavy at a certain point accelerating the racket. But the 10 gram in the handle has totally other results and has nothing to do with heaviness. I am far away from your level and my rackets weigh static 355 grams strung with a swing weight between 326 and 328. I notice fatigue mostly if the swing weight is too high and when the manouverability of the racket it too low (too high twist weight or too high balance point). I personally thnk it feels more heavy now as with the early prep your swing length will be longer, which gives you a longer time to accelerate the racket and maybe a little bit less whip because of less voilent lag towards the back. If your late and have to do a hurries prep and backswing, the lag on your forehand is more voilent. If the swing is longer, it created lag is potentially less voilent and you maybe use your arm more in the forward swing to create power. Changing your prep and swing also messes with the kinetic (automated) chain.

Mate hold off on the Babolats, You’ll lose feel using those and the Radical looks sick with the blue string😅and a new Auxetic 2.0 Extreme is rumoured to be coming out in a month😉😉I’d start with trying to get your arm a bit straighter in the take back…let it relax, watch Novak and Kyrgios forehands in slow motion next to yours and you see them straighten/relax to the back fence and have a similar bent arm at contact but they’re further in front…and that is because at contact your hips aren’t quite getting to square like theirs are, screen recording your shots and watching in slow motion you can see it happening…watch Novak also at contact his right shoulder is slightly ahead of his left, just that bit more uncoiling gets that contact where you want it👌👌

Thanks for sharing that. I have a similar problem. It’s really helpful knowing what high-level players are doing to improve their games. I’m going to try what you’re trying. I’ve tried to emulate the Rafa prep with the left hand on the throat for a long time, and that also didn’t work for me trying to be earlier and more out in front. But I’ll try what you’re trying.

Why copy Rafa? He loves to hit late. That's his entire game.
@DonSyndrome
@DonSyndrome 16 дней назад
@@twinwankel If you watch Rafs from the side, he actually makes contact really far out in front. His extreme grip and spin sometimes pulls his follow through in reverse forehand style.

hey! nice video. I'm not at your level for one, but i use the radical pro stock and maybe taking weight off is a better start then changing rackets. I also have the extreme tour weighted up but the radical gives me this punching through the court feeling with the lower angle. I thought about your scenario and right off the bat a 100 will not work due to higher swing weight and most likely you will add weight which wont help. Only options are stiffer 98's. Extreme tour, Ezone 98 (but your used to a oval), Pro staff "Maybe", aero 98, PD 98 (stiffness is maybe to high), Tfight ISO 315. These are all stiffer which would help keep stability and power at a lower weight, which then now you can swing faster with a lower weight. But there is a cost of feel and touch so you don't want to go to extreme till you find a weight you like regardless of where the ball is going. If you find the weight you like say 340g, swing weight 330 etc etc with the radical, and you love that take back speed but the balls are going short that's fine, you found your take back speed you like. Then try the above rackets with the same spec'd up weight you liked with the radical and see if the balls are going where you want. The stiffer rackets should go further but its not always that simple and you have to test a few to see. With your style im shocked you never went pure aero 98 but you may love the feel of head (I do). Just my two sense from a average dude. good luck.

Wanted to add that I wouldn't switch. You could lower weight and even adjust strings first before hand
