We don't care about "polack". English speakers users came up with "polack" as a slur but it doesn't really work because "polack" literally means "pole" in polish. Also, as a nation we are just as enthusiastic when you praise us as when you insult us. "Poland mentioned etc."
American here, I never thought Polack was a slur. I legitimately thought a person who is polish, is a polack 🤣 I don’t think I’ve ever heard an American, that wasn’t super European, say anything bad about the polish
I bought a Pontiac G8 GT in very good condition for 9.5k a few months back. You can hardly find a properly running 240sx for that price. I have no regrets.
@@bandwagon240Yeah just cope and seethe the that taconator got a good deal on a G8 GT, cause those have the 6.0 not the 3.6. too bad they're automatic tho.
That 07 Fit (or Jazz as we call it in Europe) is almost exactly like my own, you should 100% snap it up for that price. They are absolutely bombproof and have been really climbing in price in recent years
I once had a second gen fit here in the States and I'm increasingly suspicious that it was the best car I'll ever own. Perfect pedals, a super stiff lower chassis, the top heaviness actually gave it a fun feel, I could vertically store snowboards in the back seats (!!!), lift throttle oversteer was baked in from the factory, the steering and shifter were direct and clean...The list of hindsight goodness just never ends. Mad respect, even if adding a passenger made it genuinely slow lol.
@@sieve5 To be fair, the automatics in C5s tend to shit the bed at exactly 100k miles, so it may have early transmission failure signs. IIRC a transmission rebuild is like $2k because you have to drop the whole rear subframe to do it. Still, even $12k is not a bad price if everything else is good.
that fit is a steal, even with that little bit of rust. i own one, its like legos. so simple, anything could be easy to fix. these are incredible cars and the engine is so reliabel for $4500. 96k miles when you could honestly drive this thing beyond 300k with maybe one clutch replacement
They're OK cars, getting to the radiator or thermostat is a pain, doing any engine work requires to remove a bunch of stuff because it's a tight fit (no pun) to get to anything. A new battery is impossible to find, so you'll have to use a 51R battery, and it'll fit, but it will be rubbing on the induction box. If you want to do aftermarket stuff, good luck finding quality parts.
The dude who commented "nice baby toolbox" is just butthurt he can't afford anything posted on here because he is in $60k of debt to the snap on guy for a fancy toolbox that doesn't make him a better mechanic.
That’s facts on the design language. Every car company that goes for a “unified design language” ends up with an entire fleet of ugly shitters. Just make sports car look like sports car and suv look like suv. It’s not complicated
It's the bean counters, if you're able to produce all on the same body then it reduces production cost. Makes everything uniform and standardize but comes at a cost. Such as design and or making something feel special
I used to live at the apartments the infinity is at. I had a crazy double take when i recognized the dumpsters. I bet the guy took the picture next to the dumpster so you'd think he parked it in the carports there instead of in the uncovered spots everywhere else around there
I went from looking at evo 8s and type R's to picking up a '04 Z06 with 75k miles for $20k USD... it compliments my AW11 very well, its a hell of a bargain for a performance car, even if the interior is fisher price spec.
Great cars. Almost ready to tear it up in track days from the factory. If you want to do some track days all it really needs is a moderate brake upgrade.
The 85 thousand mile mustang peeked my attention. I own a 08 gt with a stick and a Whipple supercharger and it has 85 thousand miles. But soon as you said the "motor has 85,000" i was like nope completely different thing.
I agree, Japanese cars lack that one thing that gave them the unique status back then, and legendary status today, "CHARACTER" Japanese car manufacturers aren't focused on making the best cars that they can make, they're making cars that go from point A to point B instead.
I had a 200sx ser from 98, was a fun little commuter. Drove it to the junkyard. had 260k on it and suspension was clapped think it was the sr20de in it.
That fit needs about 100 lbs of sound proofing laminated into it. FWD, stick and a cable brake make for a fun combo, especially on winter tires--no studs out back.
Couple notes from a c5 💩box enthusiast. Finding a clean, electrical gremlin free, 6spd c5 isnt thaaaaat easy anymore. Trust me lololol Avoiding the f55 active suspension and going 2001+ to avoid the unserviceable ecbm module. Couple other noteworthy things in the search but those are the main ones to avoid. TLDR. 2001-2004 6spd without active suspension is the most desirable.
@@CollectorCarFeed i think mainly the servicing years later. Same goes for C4’s even though it’s a totally different system. Years later to rebuilt it is expensive versus replacing with conventional shocks which is what I ended up doing.
@@CollectorCarFeed Its not Inherently bad, Its just nearly impossible to repair it down the road. The only real fix is to replace it with an oem set of F55 shocks. Which have a pretty annoying price hike on em just to have a functioning suspension. There's a way to code it out on the 2003-2004 cars with a Tech2 scan tool. but that's the only other fix i've heard of that's "fool proof". Some have tried to rig up a dummy plug for it with mixed results.
Hey…. Got any more of that sweet sweet C5 advice??? I kinda really want one. Or a 2006-2008 Cayman, but it’s gonna be such a pita to service the Cayman
JDM performance cars are over, it's all about kei cars now. Turbo sports keis are like driving an arcade machine down the street. You drive like a maniac revving out every gear just to keep up with traffic while you hear all of the turbo and blowoff sounds. They're stupid easy to work on (parts are a pain because you have to ship everything) and really reliable. They also can get up to 40 MPG. The real red pill on cars is that the best thing to race is the slowest yet sportiest car you can find, what cop is going to pull you over for doing 70 mph? He doesn't know you and the other kei car are slam shifting every gear foot to the floor. And nobody radars corners, a kei car on remotely decent tires will gap anything in the corners. Keis are the most fun car I've ever driven, you can keep all of your 3 second supercars.
I will say with regards to the post-G35 era for Nissan design, the facelift of the FX-35 does look really good to me. The one with the wavy grille. Other than that I definitely agree that Nissan design got way too over the top.
Use my last name as my polish cert lol. My family’s been using that word as a joke going back as long as I can remember. We’re from the Boston area so you can imagine how that sounds. Couldn’t help but laugh .
When I was shopping for my next project car it was very easy to get recommended old used american v6-v8, they're dime a dozen, but they're also basically whats at every car meet along with GTis, lancers and WRXs. I wanted something more noticable, desirable, even if it was ultimately weaker. if I was a guy that strictly just wanted power, yeah, american is the way to go, but in my opinion, most american cars that are cheap and powerful tend to be seriously ugly. but that c5 basically looks like a FD rx7 but with the downside of only making old grandpas interested in it.
when looking at him face to face, you can't tell. But look at him from the side/profile. It's so big it could be dangerous in windy weather. @@namemcnamerton4249
Funny thing is they're just as overpriced as jdm cars as well. In 2016 you could walk into a dealership and get one of those brand new for 26-32k now you can't find used ones for less than 40k and good ones for less than 50k
Makes sense millennial and some Gen Z are cooming over anything stroked by Japanese hands nearly as hard as boomers with muscle cars 100k for a first gen nsx is madness to me
Each morning, they fight. Winner gets the passenger seat, loser gets motivated in the massive trunk. It’ll build character, and you’ll have a better car.
@@mkultra_vii3283 Please write “Piper says you should be better at fighting” in glow in the dark paint on the inside of the trunk lid. I want to be a role model and practice taking responsibility for my suggestions.
i can definitely justify buying c5's all day long but i don't really consider that there are other good cars to have come out of america that are cheap rn
IDK, that MK3 looked like a good deal to me. Running 7M with no rod knock, good shell and a spare 2jz for $5k. Hell, any running car without rust is worth $5k. Of course, I own a MK3 turbo and also have a spare 2jz vvti so maybe I'm just saw my future FB listing.
Why i jumped ship on the jdm trend years ago. I went from owing 2 rx7 FC's (absolute sht cars) and both the IS/SC300 to buying a mustang gt with a manual to a C4 vette and a no kemamobile Silverado and got way more bang for buck than I ever did for my rx7's. Jdm cars have gottem way too much hype that the price out paces the value of the actual car.
You mean all the E36 and E46 that are European equivalent of riced the fuck 180sx? And majority of modified kia's and hyundai's I have seen begged to be mercifully dismantled.
I agree with the German cars not so much Korean cars. You can find decent a decent e92 e60 or even a c63 for under 25k. It's the older german cars (pre 2000s) that are just as fucked as jdm cars price wise. Nobody cares about Korean cars except people who like them because they're from Korea.
