Dom, you and John have worked so hard. It's difficult to think that it's the same rust eaten car you took down from the wall all those videos ago. I love the colour, certainly didn't see that one coming!

Tip, before you sand the final primer dust on a dark aerosol then when you sand it back you will see any low spots imperfections and you can address those highlighted areas that will show through your top coat. Amazing work as it was in a very very bad way.

Before you started doing the filling, I was a little worried about what the final finish was going to look like. No need to worry, it looks amazing!

Awesome. If you put tape either side of joint then seam seal. Sooth out and peel tape when partly set. Less mess. An old timer told me to wrap the air hose over your shoulders around the back of your neck when spraying. No way the hose can get in your paint. Easy to control. If you can't get the metallic to lay out. Crank the pressure up and hold the gun about 3 feet away and dust the surface. Love you projects and your approach to them.

OOOOOOHH Dom the car looks BEAUTIFUL we never thought it would be painted as you have but it does look totally BEAUTIFUL. Your spraying is brilliant you are a very clever man. FANTASTIC 😍 love the colour 💙. Spray glitter is hard to judge when you're applying, great job done. I've only used small cans of glitter paints for crafting, and that was hard enough, so 👏👏👏, for such a great spray.

Love the colour choice. I'm always amazed when I see you spraying outside here and on The Repair Shop. Whenever I spray outside I get flies and dust. What's the secret??? I also vote for neon green for the interior - go big or go home!

I live in Maryland in the U.S. fully retired now. I purchased a Sagola gun, the exact same one GTO 3300 off of our Cornwell tool truck. Everyone swore by the SATA spray guns but I Love my Sagola, and it was 1/3 the price of the SATA. Take care of it and keep it clean Dom and it will do you well for years to come.

Not factory but opalescent colors were period correct. The pedal cars were almost certainly painted with whatever was being sprayed on the full-size cars that day rather than any particular pedal car color. And they would likely be used in car show rooms to show off colors. So very likely some got the opalescent teal that was original to some of the big Healeys.

The colour scheme was a shock, but very cool, a custom pedal car. Seam sealer was also a good variation from stock.

I hope you did the bonnet and boot off camera? The more final clear coats the better. Within reason of course. 2 coats might not submerge some the flakes that end up sitting vertically and they will spoil the finish when you buff it. You can get metal flake Naugahyde for the upholstery.

I think spray painting indoors without proper ventilation calls for eye protection. Our eyes are like sponges absorbing that stuff. To say that will fog up your glasses, goggles or visor just proves how saturated the air becomes with invisible particles.
