It's not unbalanced, It's just that every other character is playing SF III, while Chun-li and Yun are playing a Beat n' up and Remy, Twelve, Sean are playing Dark Souls Edit: Q is playing Dark Souls while using a heavy armor
Tbf a a lot of oldheads in the FGC probably play 2D fighters way more. So going from a 2D game to a 3D game can often be a daunting or even a scary experience to someone who's already acostumed to a certain type of fighting game. One of the main reasons why I don't really play Tekken despite being a good game.

As for OE, Iron Galaxy did a good job with 3rd Strike Online edition, on every single aspect, except for the ones I mentioned, and I (& many others) didn’t appreciate the new audio additions, which were meant to sound like more contemporary rap at the time of the port, but were corny, and haven’t aged anywhere near as well as say, the NG arranged album, 2i’s spectacular soundtrack, OR the PS2 Arranged 3rd Strike soundtrack, which had greatly improved audio over the original arcade 3rd Strike’s low quality audio (which is what 30th featured, exclusively)

I started dabbling in 3rd Strike a week ago and its insane how many videos I get recommended that are a day or 2 or a few hours old with high views. This feels like I picked up the latest SF entry not a decades old game.
Third Strike was a product of it's time and those of us who remember the 90's before RU-vid and social media associate it with much better times than we experience today. Feels like everything was better back then except technology which is debatable. People were legitimately happier back then and more human.
@@wildwest1832 Most game developers would KILL for a fanbase this loyal for a game this good. Same for the Marvel vs Capcom games (which recently got a collection that I'm SUPER hyped for)
There is a weird disconnect between "old fighting gamr broken, half the cast sucks and hit boxes are misplaced and i love it for that" and "new game broken i hate it"
I do think 3rd strike always has the fun out of being like "I coulda parried that". Even with the strongest characters like Chun the counterplay is very obvious and simple in theory if not to do practically. I can't say that for a lot of old games, and half the cast not having a tool like that makes them feel more unplayable, rather than just disadvantaged.
I think it's an issue with how the balance on old games can't be fixed while in new games there's an expectation for there to be balance. People would definately like an game more if it had better balance, but since they already have a meta set in stone, as well as the fact that it won't be updated more makes people go "Oh, silly 3rd Strike!" while complaining about sf6's balance actaully gets people somewhere which makes people ciritcize it more.
@@danishiqbal2963i mean, i got into fighting games in the past 10 years and i consider 3rd strike my fav fighting game, so definitely not nostalgia. Thing is, most of these games are super fun outside of the broken stuff or are ssf2x type of shit, being broken is the fun.
You could literally go to youtube search and type "fighting game is broken" and the first result is a playlist that has all the latest fighting game is broken videos. I love fighting games so much.

I generally refer to just defends as a “inverse parry with way stricter timing” I say inverse in terms of the input being away from the attack/projectile like you are guarding, rather than towards an attack/projectile
I heard instead of 3S online edition they were going to make an HD remix for 3S and balance chun/yun, but the community wanted OG unchanged 3S so we got that instead, and the rest is history.
Love how the video goes along titling each section as a specific mechanic or specific things that certain characters can do...all things considered to be issues with the game. Then it gets to the Chun-Li section and it's just labeled "Chun-Li." The Queen is, herself, an issue with the game. Love at the end of her bit "Also her stage is annoying because of this table." Just everything about her is a pain in the butt to deal with. xD
The more I learn about third strike, the more it feels like it's held together by sheer willpower. I had no idea this game even had port priority of all oversights, but it does! And I have no idea what to do with this cursed knowledge LMAO
This is an interesting lesson that latest rev isn't always perfectly balanced. I do wonder what caused such a shift in balance as I get the impression that 2nd impact was better in balance. But 3S had the fortune of having a magical moment. Also I think some meta things have evolved in the fightcade ecosystem
Back then, we had no idea about the roster balance of SF3 Third Strike, until now thanks to its players passionately figuring out every gameplay interaction from past all the way to today

I saw a gif in some website that showed how to charge Ryu's Denjin faster. You hold the punch button you started the super with + you tap between diagonal top right and diagonal bottom left + tapping the other two punch buttons. So: hold a punch button to start the super, tap opposite diagonals + mash the two punch buttons left.

@@dznutskong this is not an erm akshually scenario. It literally says at the title screen the correct pronunciation. The letter A by itself is always AH as in father in Japanese, and OU is always OH as in go. vowel sounds never change in Japanese. He should know by now the correct pronunciation. Again, because the game even says it at the title screen. It’s annoying how he can’t even pronounce it right when he discusses the game so much. It would be the same as him calling Tekken Teekin. So yeah. Pretty annoying

Aw man, this is my personal favorite street fighter 😭 because its the first time i got to play with the dragon twins, Yun and yang! They are the coolest characters in street fighter imo, AKUMA TOO!
