this a pocket rocket. it is a small car with a big v8 the weight of the car may be arround 1540kg ready but it is still a short small car and that is making the handling very good
it is also the lighest v8 version of the m113 v8 era.
i can do 0-100 kph in around 4.9 sec
it is producing 360hp and 510nm . this model is delivered in a designo colort mystic white and in combination with the red black interior it is looking very nice.
this second generation is longer wider and has a bit more wheelbase lenght. that will give the inner room a bigger feeling and it is not feeling alot smaller then the r230 sl.
so if you want a pocket rocket with alot of luxury this is the one to get.

Watched this before buying my 55 two months ago. What a car, looks, performance, and the noise! Yeah, the gearbox is a bit slow to change, but as a small GT it is an incredible all rounder. I'm 60 and the auto suits my style of driving, lazy but with the oomph when you need it. It's a keeper!

I have owned 3 slk’s in the past everytime I sold them I regretted it! I am in the process of buying one more, it’s a 2005 slk 55 amg and it is white like the one here!! It is also a one owner low mileage vehicle. I have thought long and hard and decided to go for it and this time i will never sell it.

Great car, sounds awesome, I also have a BMW Z4M and a Alfa Mito QV, they really feel so different, yet so similar, they can all put a smile on your face. All I can suggest is to pick the moment and enjoy the drive. Thanks for the review.

I just scored one of these 55 amg’s so happy the vents in the head rests are nuts its honestly the best car i ever owned & fastest i came from driving a Long Travel tacoma on 37’s

For These smaller lichter models the are perfect but for the bigger coupe's SL cl And s class i prefer the kompressor or turbo models there you Just need more torque to keep it fun to drive i think

Purchased a 2005 SLK55 recently. Great fun and extremely rare as far as mass produced vehicles go. Only 800 made in 2005.

Just bought a lovely silver 2006 SLK55 too. Wonderful car. 1/3 of them are of the road in the winter now, which makes sense, but I look forward to the spring!

Then it sounds great but for me it is also a bit quote with the roof open but that is a simpel mod to change buy for long distance a quiet cabin is very Nice i think. I had a difficult time finishing this video after reading the description. First, what year is this car? Second, the two primary numbers are off. I own the 2006 SLK55 AMG. My 355 hp stock accelerated me in 4.3. That number changes depending on which mode you drive - comfort, sport, or manual.

not sure about the year but it is a r171 slk55 i did the acceleration S mode if i remember correct. but what do you mean by "difficult finishing the video after reading the description" ?

My information is correct according what Mercedes is telling the car is doing from factory. If there are numbers that are different in your opinion like acceleration time . I can not help You with that

Wonder why the 55 CLK is only about 350 HP whereas the 55 SL is near 500 HP. Smaller SC or lower boost or they decided different engines???

Sl55 is a kompressor engine SLK is only delivered with the NA V8 CLK 55 became 63 AMG. The kompressor engine where only for E klasse And up . The smaller Cars luk c Klasse And down where delivered with the NA V8 . But he CLK had a very special edition the CLK DTM it had the engine with over 500 hp it was like in between the sl55 AMG And SLR engine. It is really a brutal machine

im getting one unfortunately cant afford the amg version so im getting the 350 which is still brisk enough cant decide between red black or white

I personally would go for white . On a Black car your will see the smallest scratch And a red color is not good for the value of the car. A white car is looking very good on a SLK And a 350 is still 272 hp so still good for good drive ability

yeah ive had a black e class before was forever washing it lol cant get white although it deffo looks the best the muck on our roads it wouldnt stay white for more than 2 minutes either lol...im currently wizzing around in my mothers cls350 petrol model feels very quick, i am drawn to red cos ill be keeping the car a long time so depreciation is not really a problem and we dont get enough sun round here for the paint to fade hehehe

These cars also need to be in manual mode for the best launch. Notice how the RPM was pretty slow for the first .5 seconds of acceleration. That's the transmission computer processing that he's doing a launch, which wouldn't have happened with Manual mode. Also you can modulate the throttle more to get better grip. I have a C55 AMG, the transmission takes a while to learn but when you get it you have a lot more control than most 5 speed torque converters.
