A real tree idea: Saw off a disk from the bottom of the trunk and use it to make an ornament. You can paint on the year and any special milestones/a family photo from that year and cure it so it's ready for next Christmas. I have a whole collection from each year as a kid when we still did real trees, and it's fun to look back and keep a little bit of the tree even after it's gone, especially since you mentioned specifically wanting to make real trees a tradition for your family!
I much prefer the 12 days of Vlogmas for every RU-vidr that I watch. I realize you can have fun while vlogging, but I enjoy knowing that you're able to actually take some time as a family without an audience. And I imagine it would be less stressful to not have to get a video out every single day. It's much easier to get into the holiday spirit that way.
Thankyou so much for not being afriad to talk about things that are taboo. You are definetly going to stay one of my all time favorite youtubers and I cannot wait to see you contiue to grow and watch you journy. So excited for vlogmas, I always get so excited for vlogs when they come out and getting one every other day is great!
Grace looks so much like you with a little Stephan features I love how she tries to grab smile react to you talk to her so pretty it’s a blessing to know grace in her incredible journey of life
So excited to see the garland be back! I remember it from vlogmas 2020 with you being pregnant and me about to pop and now my Baby turns one in about two weeks. Crazy how time flies. Thank you Sierra for brightening my days, weeks and years :)
Yay for vlogmas! As a fellow breastfeeding momma, I understand the struggle! My biggest suggestion would be to still hand express on the side you're not pumping so you don't have to deal with engorgement. Also using a haakaa (if you have one) on that side while you're pumping on the other will help to not decrease your supply and is super gentle and shouldn't open any wounds. Hope it heals quickly! ❤️
Supply is individual for each side! Your supply shouldn’t completely go away on that 1 side if you only stop for a few days (it usually takes a few weeks) but it will decrease on that one side. The side you’re continuing to pump on should maintain the same supply as long as you don’t skip pumping sessions.
Thank you for being so open and honest! I feel like other women are having the same things happening but don't realize how normal it is because it doesn't get talked about.
Awww this was so sweet. I grew up with my mom being allergic (like anaphylactic level allergic) to real Christmas trees so for us we always put up our fake tree. But the kids to get to go with my in laws to help them get their tree. What sweet memories you’re making!
FANTASTIC!! I'M GLAD YOU ARE TAKING PART IN CHRISTMAS VLOGMAS!! THAT MEANS MORE OF YOU ALL TO WATCH! YOU MAKE ME HAPPY. AND I LOVE SEEING HOW GRACE IS GROWING!! KEEP UP THE GREAT VLOGS!! XXXOOO TO YOU ALL!💝💝💙🤶🎅👼
I am a day late but when I seen vlogmas yesterday from you guys I was so excited my husband asked me "what?" cuz I said "YES VLOGMAS", So happy your doing it the opening is so cute.. Gracie is so adorable love the way she looks at the camera.. stay safe and healthy much love ❤🎅🤶🌲⛄🧣🧤☃️🎄❄🌨🌲🕯
When I started pumping I said, only the first month, and it was going great, so I said, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months. And then around the 10th month, I started having milk issues. I cried when I stopped and then I look back at my initial goal and I felt proud of all the work accomplished to give my milk to my baby 🥰
I recommend the silicone nipple pads to help you heal! I got them in the hospital when I first started nursing and they were a lifesaver! You wear them in between pumping/nursing sessions. Ask your doctor of course, but I bet they have them in office or a lactation consultant would know where to get them! I got them in the hospital.
I'm jealous - my decorating takes days! The tree itself takes at least a day. I have sooo many ornaments collected over the years. I'm maybe a quarter of the day done.
😂😂😂 Sounds like me. A friend helped me down with boses and ahe was like you have 3 boxes with tree ornaments? (allmost moving box sized) well i have a option for a red tree as well but alot broke after a fall of a tree so need to restock that so me can use that one day again. 2 advent bozes with small santas 1 huge wth big santas ans 1 with lights. She thought I was moving 😂😂😂😂
First, I'm really glad I'm not the only one who says "huh?" when I'm trying to talk to my baby 😅. Second, not only is it taboo, but often I feel ppl brush off pp issues as, "Well, that's just what having a baby will do". Therefore not doing anything to help a woman recover. I have a lot of issues with my pelvic floor and I'm glad my midwife referred me to a PT.
One of the most healing things is breastmilk! I used one of those milk catchers in my bra and left the milk in all day (be careful not to bend over, bc milk spills all over), and it really helped when I had open wounds. I am not suggesting to not to the antibiotic, but rather to do it in addition to it. And I agree with the comment about hand expressing to combat engorgement.
So excited for vlogmas! I did want to ask and i dont mean any disrespect at all, but trying to understand..you were pumping with a somewhat open wound? Wouldnt that transfer the blood or infection into her milk? Just trying to understand... Or was it a dif spot? Either way im glad to see the doc visit went well :)
My milk supply stopped on one side, it was the weirdest thing. I only lasted 5 1/2 months with pumping, I was terrified of stopping but I had a new job and was too afraid to ask for the time, but I was also getting tired of all the pumping and breastfeeding because my son preferred to watch tv. By the time I completely stopped I was happy about it. Side note though, I stopped completely lactating when he was 2 1/2, one of those weird things no one really seems to talk about.
An old remedy for injured and sore breasts from breastfeeding is an onion poultice. Slice and saute onions in a heavy pan with water instead of oil ( you can use coconut or olive oil if not allergic). Wrap in cheesecloth and apply to the affected area. I used to put the warm onions on my breast the wrap or lay on a tea towel on to of it rest till it is cooled. ( put on warm not hot, the opinions can have hot pockets in it put into a bowl or plate, and stir around till you can touch it with your hands test it warm to you is the right temp ). It helps. If you like home remedies. Yellow Spanish onions are what I used. Hope this finds you getting better. Be aware that not tending the tear ( like you are already with the Dr.) can lead to mastitis.
Just a little tip with a baby who likes to grab do not put any breakable ornaments down low but those all a pie a member at my condo two Christmases ago in the lobby they had a Christmas tree and this little toddler grabbed a glass ornament and dropped it and it shattered everywhere
Have you used the haakaa? I’m wondering if that would be helpful to alleviate some milk from your torn side without the repeated suction from the pump. Just an idea!
Have you ever tried a Haakka? You could put that on the infected side while you pump the other one. I’m willing to bet it’ll be less painful and you won’t run the risk of losing your supply on that one side. I’m pretty sure they sell them at target and Walmart
I’m not sure if your doctor told you not to hand express but you might do that a few times a day so you don’t get a clogged duct and cause you more issues! Good luck! Breastfeeding is so hard!
This! I hope they mentioned engorgement will probably happen if there is no expression. Hand expression should be a safe option to help keep your supply stable.
My daughter bit my nipple once while feeding and it was the worst pain I've ever felt. It took a while to heal because I had to keep feeding her. Glad you got it checked out.
I only have a supply on my right side. My left side completely dried up. My right side made up for my left drying, I was pumping 12 oz when he was only 8 months lol currently my little one is 16 months
My son has ripped my nipple several times with his little fingernails. It hurts so bad to nurse, so I definitely feel your pain. I push through it and it eventually heals itself. So sorry to hear that yours has gotten infected, but it possible to keep breastfeeding with a nipple scratch/tear.
On camera Grace looks tall for 6 months.....is that true? Would love to see Stephen's 6 months pic and your 6 months pic - to compare with little Grace. Love the decor- especially the garland! Enjoy Big Bear!
Oh that must have been so upsetting when she tore your nipple. 😥 that nursing session sounds so difficult and I know how difficult sessions are just so awful emotionally. I am so glad you share because yes we need this content! 💕💕
