@@officialWWM Nope. He's a guitar player's singer. It's the guitar player that counts singers are just a dime a dozen. They're good for driving the bus and carrying equipment other than that, that's about it.. Wink wink and a nod.
Congratulations on the signature amp - it sounds great. Michael Westbrook is a real force multiplier for your band, hopefully we’ll see more of him I the future.
Brother Rhett, you can hear and feel the confidence in your tone, your sound, and playing. Nothing better than seeing someone feel good in what they do and enjoying it. Congrats on the signature amp!
Man it's crazy but I never realized that Michael really is the missing piece to this band. He is the perfect complement to Rhett's playing, especially on pedal steel.
This is probably one of my favorite backstages yet! That amp sounds killer and the addition of Westbrook was a great choice! He truly is talented and you all jive together so well!
Great video! Congrats on the signature amp, sounds and looks amazing!! One thing that I noticed going through the comments was all the positivity. In a world that seems so broken and messed up some time, seeing all of these positive post really makes me happy! I love it when other musicians give each other props for their hard work and dedication to their craft. Thank you for some amazing content!
Hearing the band play reminds me how hard it is to 'make it' making music...or any other art. These guys are amazing, playing a benefit festival. Please keep charging hard - the world is a better place having your music in it.
Rhett!! Incredible man. It was so fun playing the prototype. I can’t wait to try the final version. Planning to grab one early next year on the 2nd batch. So killer! Congrats man. Sounds gorgeous.
Rhett dude. Seriously. I’ve always admired your playing - and it is an inspiration to have your videos there when I need that pep to get out a rut. But I gotta say your chops are INSANE. In a live setting your playing just comes alive even more. The tones. The feel. The phrasing. Mind blowing. You should be really proud dude. Also, your cardigan rips!
Incredible. Michael adds so much more rock to the rockin' songs and so much more feel to the quieter songs. Also, songs are really well mixed, unbelievably fun to listen to!
Your amp sounds killer (so does your playing) and Michael is indeed a great player. His playing feels very natural and simple, yet impactful. He’s only playing the notes the song needs. Good stuff!
That amp man…sounds incredible. And the band…man does Michael fill up that little bit extra and really brings Good Trouble to life. This was one of the best live performances and mixes I’ve heard in your videos.
Guys, the band sounds amazing! That Les Paul Through your signature amp was ufff, such a pleasure to the ear! All your tone in general, and Michael, wow, such an incredible player! Congratulations, Rhett! And the band, and the Amp Maker! 10/10 job all of you!
I absolutely love these! Huge fan of you guys. The different skills and technicalities that each of you bring compliment each other perfectly! And seeing Michael playing with you guys is awesome! Rhett, you and Michael are like a perfect combo of musicians! Love seeing Michael’s involvement!
Great playing Rhett. Good to see you on that Les Paul, sounding better each time I hear it. You're learning the magic of keeping it in the middle more and not being too quick to jump on the bridge to cut through. I find the older custom shops to have better PAF's in terms of tone. You gotta good one there! Also the band is really starting to hit a sweet spot eh! Don't let Michael get away if you can help it. With Noah out front you guys have something really special goin on! Keep on rockin !🎸🎸🎸
Glorious tone from that Amp of yours Rhett... and Michael adds that dimension, the Band sound has been missing - inspired decision and choice... Michael is such a great musician, very tasteful licks and complimentary playing to yours Rhett... 20/10
Congrats ! Amp sounds great man! Killer solo on Whipping Post. I felt the extra stank on that. If I wasn’t a solid state amp guy, I would definitely drool over this amp- it is aesthetically sexy as hell too.
Pedal steels are kinda magical the way they can tie everything together. Someday I’ll get around to picking one up (but not today… I’ve got more than enough trouble with the instruments I already have).
Man this amp is a killer! I love the tremolo. Been following your channel for a while now and this piece of gear sounds like the perfect match for this awsome band. I hope to see you guys live by chance when I'm in the US next time.
Westbrook is it. That’s what Good Trouble needed to truly get that bump to the next level. I’ve always thought there was a layer missing sonically and could never really tell what was needed to fill the void. Whether it was keys, or an additional guitar player. The versatility of Westbrook fill that perfect. Hats off to you guys. Hopefully y’all can keep him with y’all. I can also tell as a whole band y’all played a lot better with him there.
Amp sounds amazing! Daniel is a super cool dude and is building me one of the two channel amps right now. This just made me even more pumped to get mine! Your band sounds fantastic!!
It’s great when you have that Eureka moment w a guitar or an Amp , my very 1st amp when I was 13 yrs old was a 58 Gibson GA 40 , I still have it and it’s by far my favorite amp , I had no idea what I was buying back in 83 but now I feel extremely lucky that I found it. Great video Rhett !
I gotta say: I've been watching your videos for years, including all the backstage stuff, but I've never heard you play as good as you did here with your new Les Paul through your new amp. That tells me both of them really are a great fit for you. Honestly: awesome sound and awesome playing!
@@bigjohnson7415 wasnt meant sarcastic. didnt really read the first comment, mentioning Tom Petty. And didnt know the song. So It was pure naive enthusiasm. Sorry.
Love the innovative cab - the whole thing is fresh. Cheers for doing something new. Amps / Rigs are a great place to think outside the box yet you still nailed a classic vibe.
Damn , adding Michael made a huge sonic difference. Any plans on becoming A 5 piece?????? The amp is sweet. It definitely does the thing. After going back and listening I’ve got to have that amp, I can’t get this first run but please make it a product line. The world needs this amp in the wild.
Pls FOR THE LOVE OF GOD post the entire performance of whipping post!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 that has got to be one of the very best live performances I've ever heard 😭😭😭
I can’t tell you how much it means when you do legit videos like this. No BS, non nonsense stuff most of us want. Thank you for getting me through. Glad to be in the R-me.
I play a Port City Pearl combo myself and it’s the best amp I’ve ever played. Daniel is an amazing guy. Beyond knowledgeable and helpful across all avenues of amplification. As a North Carolina resident it’s really cool to see an NC company getting the love it deserves. Cheers to Daniel and Rhett!
The band has never sounded so good, Michael has energized the rest of you. I think you are going big time places. I look forward to you coming to Michigan when you go on tour. The new amp sounds great. ONE damn fine band.
Been waiting for this video! After all the praise you've shown towards your Port City Pearl for all these years, I've no doubt this sig is going to be absolutely killer
hey Rhett your new LP really cuts through this mix, and sounds unreal, your LP almost sounds like the classic recordings we all love and know, great playing mate!
Having a multi instrumentalist really fills out the sound. Michael is definitely a great addition to the band in these performances. Why wasn’t Phil playing? You guys sounded great, and congrats on the amp!
"Why wasn’t Phil playing?" Was wondering the same thing... I was like, "There's something not right here" and it wasn't till halfway thru the performance that it hit me.
I love how you alone are keeping the gibson amp vibes goin. Would love to hear your take on the EH-185. But either way, congrats on the super rad amp my dude. The tone on whipping post...*chef's kiss* it's amazing
Love your tone and playing and the amp sounds clear and warm. The band was really crisp too. Con grats and respect. Thank you for a beautiful video👊🍸Great vocals btw❤️
That front row at 24:01 is almost all looking at their phones. WTH?! That's a rockin' show in front of you! The band sounds amazing, and that amp and LP combo is AH-MAZEBALLS! Rock on, Rhett!
Hoooooly crap guys. Michael needs to be a full time member. I thought ya'll were good before, my mind is blown now. It's crazy how well he completes the band.
I know one pedal steel player. He was trying to get into a band playing guitar and background vocals. They heard he plays pedal steel and he was in without even hearing him play it.
I'm in a country/ classic rock cover band , when we first started practicing we had an incredible young pedal steel player that filled out the sound so much , unfortunately he had to move away before our first gigs , I do miss him
I’m still here guys! Like Rhett said, my film schedule couldn’t line up with the rehearsals for this one. Fortunately my good friend Kelly was free and held it down for me ⚡️
Congratulations on the amp. It sounds great and you deserve the recognition. Mostly, I wanted to say that I’m glad you made that trip to record in Germany, it seems like it has been a transformative experience in the best way! 👍
Man, that amp sounds delicious, full of pleasant harmonies and crispy tones. Also, the Whipping post is a masterpiece of a song!! Michael added a new dimension to it. Chapeau!
