I'm pretty sure I said in the video that if you didn't want to self-host this that you could just use the it-tools.tech website. But then then the question is, "what is the benefit of hosting anything?" To me, the answer is, "why not?" These videos are just meant to be an introduction to self-hostable services that people can check out and make their own decisions on whether or not they want to host them locally.
I was wondering the same thing a bit. I think other tools are easier to understand why from a privacy/control standpoint. Something like this though I think I'd rather just use the web tool to convert docker run to docker compose, but it's cool you have the option to self host.
🤚 QQ is there an API function, that I can call for any of these tools? I am loving these tools, I wish I knew about this sooner. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention!!!!
Most of these tools are in Linux already, the ones that aren't can be handled by a single prompt these days... Linux and a decent llm that isn't quantised make a great combination.
I've watched some of that creator's content. Some of the information he has put out is just wrong/uninformed/misleading. I've reached out to him multiple times (RU-vid comments, Twitter, etc.) to provide more accurate information just to help with his presentation and he's never bothered to reply. I'm not going to promote his work in any capacity if he's going to keep posting incorrect/misleading information and not have the decency to at least respond to my efforts to help him.
yeah. I don't wish him any ill-will, but I wish he'd change his presentation to prevent the misinformation. Maybe he has, though. I haven't watched any of his content in a long time
