Dang I grew up with a single parent and was taught to be independent based off survival and all that she knew. I had no idea that black girls in two parent households went through the same thing. I'm learning to be dependent while being independent and its hard. I think there's room for both you just have to have balance. Also men have to prove they're worth being dependent on. I'm in my 20s and that's very hard to come across.

I was raised by a single mom and started living with my dad at 16. When I tell you it HELPED me so much!! He taught me to sit in the glory of my divine feminine energy!!! I refuse to open/close doors, take out garbage, fix or put things together lol My man makes me want to be the woman I know I am and should be, because he is the type of man my dad is. You’re right about no examples of black love. I personally haven’t seen black love represented without kids. As you know they use the kids often to hide the dissatisfaction. A lot of women hide behind the beauty and innocence of their kids and lie to themselves about the state of the relationship. People see the family as a whole and think it’s ideal. Please don’t have kids until you get everything you want. Women that can walk away with no attachments are super blessed.

The husband’s income goes to his back child support, his car and his credit is shot- so they can’t qualify together for a mortgage. Yani, your experience really resonates with me. I came from a two parent household as well. My mother & father were married at 19 & 20. He was abusive my mom left. My Step Father raised my sister & I since we were 2&3. While I did have some good experiences I always felt guilty saying i incurred much trauma and didn’t feel he genuinely loved. I couldn’t even address it because I looked at everyone else and I thought I was blessed coming from a middle class two parent home. But my step father checked out emotionally. He claimed to not remember the verbal abuse from my mother or her taking our money when we went to work, claiming it was gas money. $60 each in 2007 lol and my sisters boyfriend took us home not them. But now being older I know my sister & I were paying a bill. See my step dad hasn’t worked since 2005, when my baby sister (his daughter) was born. My mom is the bread winner. She’s a practice manager for a large healthcare system over a few facilities. Now as an adult woman I despise him!!!! My baby sister is 16!!! My mom bought a new house in 2017 and I got sick in 2019 she told me I was grown. Meanwhile a grown as man who’s in his 50’s has his own room for his pet snake, model cars he builds, his collectibles, his guitars, electric drums and keyboard. He also has an additional room with a large tv and his PlayStation set up. I cut my family off. I was extremely sick (rare brain disorder, I lost my vision) and couldn’t work and ended up homeless living in my car. Meanwhile he is living his best life. My father is a narcissist he lied and pretended he didn’t know I was losing my apartment. He pretended he didn’t know I was sick even though he knew my neurologist had referred me to a neurosurgeon. They wanted me to have brain surgery that only had a 80% success rate. I was 28 I said no. Thankfully I healed through herbs n fasting. I have my vision back yall and now I have my head on right. I am putting myself FIRST. I was drowning and everyone gave me a high five saying I could pull through when all I needed was help. As black women we don’t have a safety net we have ourselves. Our community doesn’t GAF about us. Sis I was forced to wake up. I cut them all off and I’m not looking back!!! I’m focused on fully healing all the trauma. No more people pleasing no more being taken advantage of mentally emotionally or financially. I’m first always. Love you Queens💜

I don't know who Mazi is but he sounds like he does not have any integrity and purpose.
