I know right? I never really cared for that tripod before I got into storm chasing. It isn't the most stable, but they're small and easy to setup, and align. So I got online and ordered 4 more of them. One in the car, two modified for the doors, then 2 fully extended always in the back. Now it's been super easy to move cameras from one tripod to another. Not to mention always being able to find a tripod clip now XD

Man this is so thrilling. Wish i could be there with you. I'm not good at any technical stuff but i sure as hell would have cheered on. We don't have tornadoes in our country, thank God for that. But still this is very exciting.
I remember waiting for SergsB's speedcubing tutorials that never came lol, that's how long ago it was, I'm now 18 on a supported interns course, but I still haven't let go of the memories and have just came back to rerun for the first time in ages.
Nice catch! That very well may have been another one. Dr. Lee Orph certainly has simulated tornadoes that have multiple invisible circulations that eventually combine into a larger one which becomes the tornado. Just may not've had the umph this time...
At 6:28 it looked like two separate rotations were happening. Maybe if the secondary one was smaller, it could have became an anticyclonic tornado. I also could just be plain wrong. Edit: it’s behind the main rotation
I was watching your latest RU-vid video and I saw your location moving on top of the radar also moving. I was wondering how you did that, was it just in post or was it captured in real time?
This time I animated in post. Though this year I figured out I can just screen capture my iPad on Radarscope, speed it up, and get close to the same result. It's not in an high a resolution, but it saves me the 3 afternoons it took animate the clips in this video, and make sure they were accurate to my Google Maps timeline and my radar screen shots.

watching a tornado on a screen instead of looking at it in real life sounds kind of boring but in 2 minutes your eyes are locked on the screen you won't even play call Of Duty
man it sucks you couldn't catch up to those tornados and the fact that the storm just gave up it probably would of dropped if it didn't fade but still great video
If you're going to fly your drone into a tornado you should add some weather instruments on to it so you can collect some data like the barometric pressure, and other things that you could then pass on to researchers so that we all can better understand these things.
I've got a phone that can record pressure and GPS position on it. Though the hope is I can get a viral video out of it so I can afford something more research grade.
