Jake goes on tiny speech about chefs always smiling when on camera until he suddenly cuts off with a perfect “is that a crocodile?” That just made my day.
6:00 This way of demo-ing a building is very expensive and very time consuming. Usually it is only done if the area is too sensitive to collapse the building. Others too close. There could be underground utilities/transportation that are too close to risk dropping it with explosives.
Most controlled demolitions have to have a certain distance from residential, medical, and emergency buildings. They also have to be a certain distance from a shut off gas/energy lines. from the looks of the video clip, those are medical offices behind it and a residential center to the right. Depending on how the building was built, even most meticulous controlled demolition would cause problems in that small area
The gutter one had foam inserts called gutter guards. They're specifically designed for that exact thing. Makes cleaning the gutters way easier. But they also have to be maintained fairly regularly to prevent pests and they can be a pain to sanitise before reinstalling and eventually need replacing.
Honey directly from the comb tastes incredibly good. Also usually there is no sugar added. I've got a friend who kept bees for a while and we sometimes just got ourselves a big chunk of honeycomb and you can chew on it and get the sweet honey.
@@info0 They actually do add sugar to honey, but only to the low quality ones. Sugar syrup is considerably cheaper than honey, so some manufacturers will dilute pure honey with some sugar.
Yes, here (USA) they're allowed to "dilute" honey with a certain percentage of high-fructose corn syrup or other cheap substitute. (I don't know the percentage offhand.) So, it's always better to get your honey from a farmer's market or directly from beekeepers.
Usually you can get the Honeycomb from a bulk food or Health food shop. Just ask for the honeycomb and you can just put a chunk in your tea or coffee or pop a whole chunk in your mouth. It is enclosed in bees wax and is perfectly edible. And the gutters have a solid plastic foamlike weave in there. It keeps the leaves and bigger dirt on top and allows water to flow through underneath. All you have to do is give it a good spray and you can reuse it again.
HoofGP does cow hooves but there's various farrier RU-vidrs specifically for horses. Watching them take painful, neglected, overgrown, injured hooves and getting them cleaned up and on the road to a pain free recovery is just magical. Is it gross? Yup Is there a lot of pus and blood when the hoof is injured and infected? Yup Lots of poop? Yup Is it damned satisfying when you see the animal getting the care they deserve and their feet are properly treated? Oh, hell yeah!
@Gi Gi I disagree. You're not wrong in liking the regular maintenance but seeing a horse go from potential glue nag because of their feet to happy, healthy horse is better. Regular hoof care is just maintaining the status quo, which is good but ultimately mundane. Repairing the neglected, painful hooves gives the horse a new lease on life. I do agree that it should never get to the point of needing such drastic care after a horse has been abused and neglected. Sadly, humans are shit and this will continue to be a problem until our species as a whole pulls its head from the world's collective asses and practises proper husbandry for all animals in our care.
08:23 That looks like a foam mesh filter strip to me Jake, intended to let water run through but to keep leaves and debris out of the gutter, so that it cant block the water. They tend to grow moss eventually though, and need to be cleaned or replaced.
5:50 its 'coz theyre panel buildings (probably from the soviet era) which were made from panels in a different spot and could be built up in a few weeks and for that reason they can be dismantled very easely and if done correctly can be rebuilt later and i am still talking about ten floor builds
@@msotmivan381 Right, because peoples doing it have no idea how to NOT destroy the neighborhood. Oh, but wait, they DO know how since its already DONE safely.
It was pretty awesome timing, you said about the internet cutting g out and the video stopped for a moment haha. Also the stuff from the eavestrough was a foam insert that people sometimes put in there to try and keep the eavestrough from filling up with stuff, but it usually gets stuck on top and then they done let the water through anyway lol
7:29 - Jake: "I really want to go to like... a honey farm, one day, and try it straight from the hive. [...] It's probably not as good, because they add a lot of sugar..." No, they don't add any sugar to honey. Honey is mostly sugar (glucose) to begin with, so there's no need to add any. You may be confused by the fact that some ingredient labels on honey include the phrase "added sugar", but that's just FDA speak for "eating this adds this amount of sugar to your diet". P.S. It's not a "honey farm", it's an "apiary".
@@HiEv001 it says ingredients: honey, syrup. You can Google that in ten seconds, because you clearly think I just make up things like this for fun. I put a link here, but for some reason it did not show.
If you want honeycomb i wuld recomend serching for some in the midle of summer or early summer, cuz beekeeper will not alow you to have some when its not ready to extract ( most beekeepers)
The gutter cleaning was him pulling out the foam filters, the only gunk was the leaves on top. You pull those out, rinse them off and put them back in. The leaves sit on top while the water passes through and runs out under the foam
There's actually several cheap brands that mix corn syrup and sugar with honey. Cheap honey blends like this are common in some places instead of real honey
@@Vincent_Beers yes there are but as soon as they do that it's not really honey. In Australia some years ago we had a cheap Chinese honey which was only corn syrup and the government changed the law to prohibit anyone using the word honey that did not contain 100% honey. If this happens in your country you should petition the government to change the law.
I love The Hoof GP! His videos are awesome! It is kind of gross, but I love it because of the fact that he’s providing the cows with pain relief. You can literally see the difference before and after he does his job.
Jake, they only add sugar and syrup to honey in order to dilute the honey and make more jars of it. Pure honey need no sugar because its already so high in sugar content. Pure honey is pricier, but so worth it. Its great when you got a cold.
Ohhhh clever "This is why your internet cuts off" bit there :P had me raging internally for just a moment of how ironic the timing was until I realized it.... /sigh
0:27 It's freaking 21c outside, 30c inside my room and now I gotta bring out the scarf to learn this move! PS. It went horribly wrong and it's too hot to give it a second try. We'll come back in 6 months to try this again.
@@kingdomoftransylvania5744 Winter is over I throw winter clothes in a cupboard or closet where they can wait for winter :P I remembered where I had the scarf so tried it :P
