I'll say this doesn't get commented on enough imo. He really is like Gojo having infinity up all the time. Using the sharingan consumes chakra but he had mastered it so well he could have it on permanently.

not old enough to not get replied to! I'll gladly create a parallel to help us both using the example, Gojo. In the early episode of season 2 of JJK we see that instead of using a full force infinity at all times he is actually capable of adjusting it's strength on a multi-layer level ie an eraser and pencil are thrown at him, but the pencil is stopped while the eraser is able to pass through. This is done automatically through practice and genius alone. Although we never hear exactly how itachi was able to keep his ocular powers on 24/7 my assumption is that he trained it on a multilayer level as well to be able to assess threats and protect himself which makes sense as both characters are prodigies in their own right. @@davidares286
Orochimaru, Nagato and Itachi were the ones among the Akatsuki to which Obito had to be careful with. We never saw what kind of relation Obito had with Orochimaru, but at least we know that at some point those 2 crossed paths. While alive, Nagato and Itachi were the only 2 members of Akatsuki capable of keeping Obito on the edge; meanwhile Orochimaru had the more knowledge regarding Obito’s true identity and further plans, as stated by Obito himself while talking with Kabuto after the later captured Yamato.
It wasn't time for his plan to move into overdrive yet. The only thing he really did after Itachi and Nagato died was get the Rinnegan eyes back and motivate Sasuke to attack the 5 kages so he could terrorize the world. After that, he was done until it was reanimation time. That's not making a move right after Itachi or Nagato died. In all honesty, he was concerned his plan would be hindered and didn't know enough about Itachi's powers/susanoo to want to fight him. That doesn't mean he was afraid to fight Itachi. He just didn't want to waste the effort when he could use Itachi instead. He had Sasuke on the back burner just waiting to stoke that flame.
Don’t know how many times the author, data books and numerous other sources have to say it but, Itachi is not stronger than Obito and definitely not stronger than Pain. Pain only went to capture Naruto himself cause a shitload of his members were dead and Kisame and Itachi weren’t able to, one because Jaraiya and two cause Itachi was triple agent.

True Itachi's pain and sacrifice is unmatched. That's enough trauma for every villian in the whole series. He is the only one who could handle it though.
He's in the Akatsuki for most of its existence yet doesn't give the Leaf any info about them. Most of what the Leaf knows about them came from Kabuto of all people. Even helps them extract Tailed Beasts including Gaara. He's got to be the worst spy ever lol.

Even if he wanted to fight, he was outnumbered. People really do not know how much Itachi's every appearance played such a significant role. You should consider re-watching all of the relevant episodes.

I love Naruto and Shippuden (Haven't watched any of Boruto maybe one day...). But for me Itachi made Naruto, he had such a huge impact in the series in so many levels.

@zyxklm-jc4kc how are we supposed to know his real power if he never truly lost. every fight he lost, he lost intentionally. literally. even his last fight, where he was fatally sick btw (vs sasuke), was all arranged by itachi himself... we have only 1 fight where he was fighting ALMOST (he even let him live) for real (vs kabuto) and well, he defeated ("with sasuke") the 2nd/3rd strongest villian there was, with no effort. we also don't know Shisui's power, no point even guessing his power, we have barely seen anything from him and most of that was when he was poisoned.
A misunderstanding people know about Itachi is his saitama. The truth is that Itachi's chakra was so.good, he could make a very huge fireball ( the difference between fireball jutsu of its users is the size of it ) at 7 years old. The reason he was usually exhausted in battle was that he was sick.

he was sidelined bad , i heard that they changed the direction as itachi was meant an actual villain which would have been much better , pain and itachi as final bosses sounds better to me. In my opinion Itachi is one of the most Unique, Authentic and Influential characters from the series. The thing that people underestimate about Itachi fights/encounters, isn't just his power, (it's mainly writters or Kishimoto's fault for making Itachi seem or to look very powerful throughout the series) but how smart and intelligent he is during various situations, he never, ever underestimates his opponents because of his composure and his way of being, the level of thinking he's on honestly dwars most people in the series, with only people like Minato and Shikaku comparable with him. More precisly, Itachi isn't just any ordinary Shinobi also, he pretty much knows and he's also aware that all strong opponents have weaknesses (including himself), and he specializes in finding those "weaknesses" and exploiting them ("*Even the strongest of opponents always has a weakness*" - Uchiha Itachi) because he's that type of character who can exceed almost any expectations. Itachi is very unique and authentic, especially in the factor of facing various encounters approach, his unpredictability in his way of fighting style approach it's his key factor in all of his encounters. Being blind or nearly blind has never slowed him down (especially when he's pretty much serious, but that's the point, he has never go all out against anyone during the series.) Itachi it's that type of character who can exceed almost any expectations. (at least that's what we were shown in the anime by the creator Masashi Kishimoto). Moral of the story, never underestimate Itachi. He did more sick than most healthy ninjas do in their entire life. In my opinion No One should underestimate such an unpredictable Shinobi like Itachi, even Madara (I won't say that Itachi can beat him, but at least he will be pretty much able to put a decent fight that Madara will also be impressed in my opinion). Also how can some of you guys even consider that Totsuka Blade it's slow when no such speed feat has been shown through the Shippuden that state it that it is slow? All of you are assuming it to be slow it may not be the case... Its not that the sword is unavoidable but it clearly has a very long range and is a very long blade. If you look at the manga, Naruto, Bee and Itachi are all relatively small from Nagato's point of view, and you can see the Totsuka Blade extending all the way from Itachi, piercing through Nagato, and still managing to nearly pop out toward the reader out of the page. I would say its fast because Kabuto coudldn't even react to it, and its not like Nagato was completely immobile to the point that he couldn't sidestep the blade. Also, Kabuto controlling people from far away is never stated to inhibit the Edos' reaction speed in any way. Being controlled by someone thousands of miles away didn't stop the Third Raikage from dodging KCM Naruto's Rasenshuriken. And as for Orochimaru, the sword struck him in between syllables of a word during his speech. I think that that is pretty fast. Pair the Totuska Blade with a good feint and its lethal because its ethereal, meaning it can pierce through any object. If the sword didn't live up to its reputation then Orochimaru wouldn't seek it out. People need to stop downplaying Itachi and denying the very clear speed feats of Totsuka. There is no room for interpretations here. The advantage of being an Uchiha, especially for Itachi and Madara, is that during an encounter against them, they always have a counter because of their unpredictable way of fighting factor, they don't run out of options or techniques, they almost always have a counter in their arsenal, even forbidden jutsus seems irrellevant against them, only a few Uchihas know a certain way to approach the situation with a certain and effective technique, that's why is hard/difficult to fight against them in my opinion. ☯️ 🤷♂️ Here are the things that make Itachi so formidable. Tsukuyomi - A genjutsu so powerful that you literally can't escape it unless you have the same blood as Itachi, as stated by Itachi himself and proven later by Sasuke, or you're a jinchuriki. Jinchuriki are supposed to be immune to genjutsu but it hasn't been proven, but when Bee was fighting Edo Nagato and Itachi with Naruto, he said to watch out for Tsukuyomi explicitly. Literally 99% of all opponents fighting Itachi have no way of stopping Tsukuyomi. You could have the power to split the planet in half and it wouldn't matter. (Want to know why? - Kakashi pretty much state it in the actual anime and manga that Tsukuyomi it's such a dangerous Genjutsu Technique because it happen in a instant, even if you realize that you are trapped in the Tsukuyomi, it will be too late, because Itachi could approach you during that time in the real world (or he can use an Explosive Clone to approach you without you even realizing it in time and he can pretty much finish you before you can even realize, - 72 hours in Tsukuyomi realm means 1 second or a couple of seconds in the real world. Tsukuyomi can't be broken, when used to it's fullest.) The Sword of Totsuka and Yata Mirror - The Susanoo itself is a near invincible defense but these two weapons take it to the next step. The Sword of Totsuka can seal "anything" if it even touches it. It's completely OP. It's hard to fight a guy that can seal you away if his sword even touches you. The Yata Mirror is even a bigger deal in my opinion. It doesn't block attacks, it's "negates" them. You could throw an Amaterasu covered Bijuu bomb at Itachi and the Yata mirror will negate it, making it so the Susanoo doesn't even need to take a blow. You could punch the Yata mirror and the force will completely be negated. His biggest strength of all: tactical intelligence - Itachi always outsmarts and plans for everything because the plot demands it. You're physically strong? Itachi is already 2 steps ahead of you knowing exactly what to do. You're extremely fast? Again, 2 steps. You're going to try and outlast Itachi in a fight? Good luck. To add to this, some of the 3 most powerful techniques in the verse are due to his intelligence and planning ability; Izanami, Izanagi, and Kotoamatsukami. Izanami - A forbbiden genjutsu technique that allows you to alter someone's destiny. Impossible to break out of even if you know you're in a genjutsu without complying with the users set destiny for you. Even someone like Bee, a perfect Jinchuriki, can't escape Izanami unless he does what Itachi wants him to. Izanagi - You somehow gained an advantage over Itachi? He makes it so that advantage never happened. Kotoamatsukami - Though Shisui's technique, Itachi has his eye which effectively makes it his weapon. A genjutsu so powerful that the person it's cast on doesn't even know they're under a genjutsu. Like the Tsukuyomi, completely OP. To add to all of this, Itachi is pretty good at hand to hand combat(his Taijutsu it's exceptional and underrated) is great with shuriken, is extremely fast, is great with regular fire techniques, is slippery and unpredictable, and has the extremely dangerous and fast Genjutsu style of fighting approach that can caught you off guard almost at any time. With all of these things considered you've got one dangerous ninja. Lastly but not least Kishimoto made sure that Itachi was seen as someone special and he did an incredible job in establishing that in the story. When Itachi Uchiha awakened his Susano'o, he was seen wielding legendary weapons of the Totsuka Blade and the Yata Mirror. The former allowed Itachi to seal anyone he pierced in a world of genjutsu forever, while the latter gave him the ability to deflect any and all attacks thrown towards him, regardless of whether they were physical or spiritual in nature. According to Zetsu (who was around since the period of Kaguya time era until the present of Naruto) he state it in the anime and also in the manga that these weapons, when combined with his Susano'o, made Itachi Invincible. This is why Kishimoto basically had to give him a handicap: Naruto AIDS. 🤷🏻♂️ ☯️

We were wondering at early time when this anime broadcast why would itachi is the only one who always with activated sharingan, we know how much chakra it is used as we’ve seen kakashi close his eyes. Dude in the circle of dangerous people he had to activate the sharingan all time surrounding this people, he is never caught lacking although he is a double agent.
He doesn't have the durability and pain was fast enough to keep up with Naruto in all his tailed beast cloke forms and pains all mighty push was able to destroy the village so Itachis susanoo would get blown back like it's nothing
