You're welcome Chris. I will build this soon and do some corrections. The front struts coming through the turrets in front of the mounts is a complete joke!!

Hi Nigel and everyone, Great review! It will be great to see you build a car for a change👍. The concept of this kit is basically the same as the old kits, with new molds, It's alright but the sink marks, front grille and ejection pins are a turn down. I'm building a Fiat SB4 "Mefistofele", from Italeri (Protar re-box slightly modified) and it's a lot of fun, specially, adding homemade real wood and metal parts like the dashboard and brass tubing in the engine, etc. I Think that the channel you're referring to is CarModelingTube, he just finished a pair of Alfa Romeo P2 1/12 MFH, gorgeous! Thanks for the Video.

Looks like a belter of a kit. The silver engine sprues look just like those in Tamiya bike kits. Could this be their contribution?

Cars are a whole new world in modelling. lots and lots of pre assembly painting, followed by taking extra special care not to damage anything.
@Sarah-JaneR32
@Sarah-JaneR32 2 года назад
looks really good Nigel thank you. Looks a bit too complicated for me but still might succumb to getting it :) The seat belts were fixed to different parts of the roll cage after the awful crash that claimed Henri Toivenen in the S4, rumours of seat belts failing and the fuel tank being too weak meant Lancia were trying to reclaim thei reputuation.
@NigelsModellingBench
@NigelsModellingBench 2 года назад
Interesting.. I didn't know that about the belts. This must be one of the first cars to use the wrap around belts rather than the eyebolts for all six points?
@Sarah-JaneR32
@Sarah-JaneR32 2 года назад
@@NigelsModellingBench I'm not sure about being one of the first, but Lancia were getting stories about them concerning being unsafe rally car's, pictures of crashed 037s show roll cages that haven't held up well, after the crashes in 1986 Lancia had the FIA and press watching them closely.

Below I asked if you had noticed the ribbon included is too wide for some of the PE seatbelt hardware. I watched another inbox review and his PE set was different from mine and the one you’ve shown here. His has the wider seat belt parts. I’m so confused.
@petergiles447
@petergiles447 Год назад
Hello Michael. I am also having problems with the seat belts. As you say , the belt ribbon supplied are the wrong width for the PE parts. In fact the PE buckles are also different widths. So I got some 5mm red ribbon from E bay hoping it would solve all my problems, but having made up the first of the 'B' belts following the dimensions on the 'Correction' sheet I also find the lengths quoted are wrong! they are all way too long. I don't know what's going on here, but I think I'm going to have to just put the seats in place and build the belts to suit, ignoring the instructions. Not good for such an expensive (by my standards) kit.
@SuperBodul

On this car, co driver seat doesnt sit lower, it is different model of sparco seat. Lazy and cheap Italeri saved some money here, KMP said it would fix it hopefully
@NigelsModellingBench
@NigelsModellingBench 2 года назад
Thanks for that. Like they used a common sprue for the brakes x2 so we have the same rotation for both sides, or one side is going backwards. Have you seen my revisited video?
@SuperBodul
@SuperBodul 2 года назад
@@NigelsModellingBench yes i did, many flaws, many simplified detail, no masks of any kind, no door patern, and one million ejection marks - i think it sums it up. I also made review for one croatian forum, but havent started building it yet

@michaellawrence2706

I don’t think that’s fair. Overpriced, yes. But I’m having a blast with it.
@NigelsModellingBench
@NigelsModellingBench 2 года назад
OK, I guess everyone's value of "awful" will vary? I just feel the spindly suspension pivots, ridiculous design on the top mount, sink marks all over the body and skimping on R/H vs L/H brakes is poor considering the cost. I will finish it off but I have remade many of the suspension parts in Aluminium.
@michaellawrence2706
@michaellawrence2706 2 года назад
Yes, we all have different perspectives. Who else is producing race cars in that scale in styrene? I have no problem greatly appreciated a kit that is seemingly perfect and falls together with ease. I can also appreciate the challenge I have a project that needs a little TLC. That having been said, it does frustrate the heck out of me that the seatbelt material is about twice as wide as the slot it is supposed to enter. Dented compound frustration, I can’t find a single person anywhere that has mentioned it.
@UlsterScott

Try beeswax for the belts Nigel. Use a soldering iron sparingly to melt it into the material. It’s used by wood ship modellers for rigging rope. Seems to work really well
@NigelsModellingBench
@NigelsModellingBench 2 года назад
Thanks for the tip, does the beeswax dry and make the belts go like lead? I wonder if it "gasses" off and would fog the windows?

Nice video Nigel. I did stick through to the end lol. But its not for me. I don't like Italeri kits, and this one looks no different than any others they do. Instructions with vague pictures, and not enough detail to help you build. The stupid sprue connection points you mentioned, plus sink marks and ejection tabs. If I was to do a 1/12 scale car, I would much prefer to do a Tamiya one. Plus I noticed that both of Tamiya's 1/12 Porsche's are £112. A lot cheaper.

If Tamiya was indeed involved in this kit, why would they not take the reins completely and produce this themselves?? That makes absolutely zero sense!!! People would be tearing down the doors to purchase this if it were by Tamiya. I just don't understand the laziness of Tamiya lately. Mediocre releases of new kits, re-releasing kits that didn't really sell well to begin with, lengthy amounts of time passing before releasing all new kits. It's ridiculous
