Amazing, thank you so much. They look fantastic. I worked at an Italian Bakery when I was 18. And we would make a variety of breads. Braided with Sesame seeds, buns with poppy seeds...etc. Good stuff. Nothing beats Italian bread.
It's crazy how good this bread is, I thought people in the comments section were exaggerating, but it is a great recipe. My mom can't get enough of it and keeps asking me when I'm making more lol Thank you very much for this delicious recipe!! ❤
Having been stationed in Naples and living in Pianura, Italy on the economy, I can say that you really need to add a quick Italian bread oil dipping recipe to compliment the bread when you eat it. Hey, and no real Italian would ever touch bread without their accompanying vino. Believe me, there is no comparison in the world as to actually being in Italy and seeing just how much love and effort goes into whatever they bake in their homes or at the bakeries there. In Italy, the forno, or bakery, is the place where you buy bread, naturally: You can get bread at the grocery store, too, but the quality is incomparable and Italians are very traditional-they prefer to go to the bakery for their bread. Having lived by one and having an Italian friend/neighbor who owned one, the smell is wonderful and nothing can really compare. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
I made your Italian bread today. Let the my Kitchen Aid mixer knead the dough for 11 minutes. Bowl was clean. Put a tablespoon of olive oil in the bottom of the bowl and rolled the ball of dough around in it. Covered it with a dampened cheese cloth and set it in the oven with the light on. Let it rise for about an hour. Shaped two loaves and placed them in an Italian loaf pan(for double loaves). Let them rise for 25 minutes then brushed with egg wash then sprinkled with roasted sesame seeds. Baked in 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. After cooling I cut off a heel of one and buttered it. It is so good. Texture is superb and the crust is crunchy. Thank you for your tutorial recipe. I believe that I have found a real keeper in your recipe.
Chewy, last night I tried one of those no knead fast breads. Trying to show my daughter how good homemade bread can be, it was a flop. But thanks to u I have redeemed myself tonight. This was awesome!!!! Made with nice Sirloin Roast, potatoes carrots and celery! Thanks for saving the day!!!
Well I did another recipe and it was a complete fail. Then I found you and cannot begin to tell you how happy I was with the results. My family loved it!! Just like my Nonna made. Served with a tomatoes salad and gained 5 pounds!! Thank you so much for sharing, blessings!!
I stumbled on this recipe not too long ago and made it. My whole family loved it. The first time I made it, it came out a bit dense, but I tried it again and followed it to the letter of your process and it turned out wonderfully. Thanks for the suggestions!
You are terrific! Just watched your video and I know this is some great bread. Re changing to healthy eating I totally agree with you - it sure takes some getting use to. You cook well and I plan on making most of your dishes. Wishing you good health, Always.
My bread turned out lovely. I put a herb spice on top after I put egg on the loaves. Some were sprinkled with a mixture of spices another with those multi bagel seeds. I’m very happy with my bread. I did butter the tops after done because I like soft tops on my breads.
This bread is great. My kid and I love it. She's a picky eater. it's a minor miracle when she picks up something other than corn on the cob or chocolate and chows down.
I haven't tried this yet, I make different types of bread but this looks good and not heavy, not millie. I read your comment where you had an updated version and was wanting to compare but don't see it? Thanks for sharing this 👍
I was making it as I watched him...pausing video...don't you know I thought he forgot the egg and I put mine in with all of the other ingredients...I was going to ask him to tell folks at the beginning to hold onto the egg but then I realized, nobody is probably as dim as I am about bread making... Here goes...? lol ooops
I just want to said Thank you I did this recipe and it came out awesome everyone is so impressed I used my hand because I don't have a mixer and it turn out great Thanks again
3 hrs might kill the yeast and give off a different flavor... Just put in in the oven wrapped in foil at 350 for like 10 minutes it will be just like fresh
Your easy Italian Bread receipt I have been using 4 cups of water instead of 2. It comes out fine because the first time using only 2 cups I had a brick.
Hello, I follow your recipe to the letter, what am I doing wrong, instead of the bread being smooth after an hour, the texture is rough looking, no matter how much I knead the dough, even use a touch of water, can't seem to get the dough to have a smooth soft texture, thanks!
I want to make bread for a Muffetta but I want Sesame seeds on it and 1 would like to know what shape I should make if I want to make one large loaf and split it between us, should I make it round and how big should I make it to turn out just right? I feel like I am not talking right I hope you can understand what I am asking. Thanks for the great video
I have been trying to figure out how my Mom made bread loaves that reached for the sky. She had a wood stove and managed to bake bread that was awesome. I remembered her recipe but the flat top loaves suck.
when I was a child I remember we used to cook pancakes on a wood stove but never tried to make bread on it. I hope you try this recipe and like it as much as my family does and thanks for watching
I learned to bake my own bread back in 2011 when I learned that they were using L-Cysteine in bread and I found out that it was made from Human Hair.... needless to say I was so grossed out by this that I have never to this day eating another loaf of store bought bread again, I can make it in my sleep. If you love yourself and your family you will take the few mins out of your time to put 4 ingredients together and Hamburger and Hotdog Buns are easy too.
Hey! I'm a new subscriber... I'm going to make this right now for dinner tonight to go along w/my homemade pasta sauce & Cellentani pasta!!! It looks delicious, thank you for sharing! 😘
This totally looks like I can do it. Thanks. I’ll try it this weekend. How many dinner rolls would you make out of half of that dough and how long in the oven would you say
I’m so new to baking and twice I failed today LOL I’m wondering if you have this recipe but half of the recipe I only have 1 1/2 ok of the rapid rise packets

Hi High Country Cooking 😁 I'm a new sub here. This is a great bread recipe. I have a question if you don't mind? I'm wondering if I can cut this recipe in half? Do you think it will still be the same? I need to make bread today and I'm trying your recipe. Cross your fingers and wish me luck lol. 😆 Take care-Debbie
My new Kitchenaid could barely mix the dough it was so stiff.... could even smell the motor getting hot. It got better when I added around another 3/4 cup of water.
That seems like a lot of yeast to add. I’ve had trouble with bread tasting really yeasty and I don’t like that. Any thoughts on that and why that happens?
great recipe .i am eating it now. Most people under the age of 60 have no idea what bread is supposed to taste like or music should sound like ,W.T.F. did we do wrong ?
I tried a couple of different recipes I found and my husband liked this one so much he bought me a mixer after hearing me say how easy it looked in this video to mix the dough as opposed to mixing and kneading by hand. Needless to say I'll be making this more often. 😊
This was my first attempt at Italian bread. Turned out fantastic. Texture was good and tender. Crust was perfect and bread was tasty. Much better than expected from this simple recipe after watching many more complicated recipes. Thank you for the recipe.
I’ve made your recipe several times and shared with family and friends. They all love it. Making rolls and loaves today. Again. My grandchildren love the rolls.
I used to do the egg trick but you don't have to. I stopped doing it because I can't stand the smell of the bread after with the egg on top. Grosses me out. You want a good crust, all you have to do is put a pan of water in the oven while the bread is baking. Or do nothing at all and it still comes out crispy. Egg is usually to make it shiny on top anyway. Rustic bread doesn't need to have a shine
Made this tonight- thanks for sharing. First loaf of bread ever. Made a loaf and used the other half for dinner rolls. Used an infused Tuscan herb olive oil and finished with a little flaked lemon sea salt after the egg wash.... Awesome!
i love the way you keep it simple. i live in Kashmir, and we dont have breads in our culture...now adays um trying to make a wood fired oven..then i will be trying to bake some breads..ofcourse aided by you vidios..
I make this bread almost every week I like your recipe because its easy to follow Ihate when they do scale measurements yours is the best thanks so much Chef
I make your recipe all the time! Shared it with my brother too! You sound just like him. So, like baking with my bro! Oh yeah, I make and gift these loaves now as well! Thank you!! It took me 2 years to use my stand mixer. You showed me the way!!!
Thank you so much I watched a lot of videos about bread until I found this one. I made my bread today and it came out "almost" Paul Hollywood approved. Thank you for making this video !!!!!!
I've been searching just for this special type of Italian Bread! Thank You for sharing your talents! I'll be making bread now, even more than the treats for desert! God Bless!
I started making this bread during quarantine. I’m SO glad I came across this recipe. It’s SUPER easy to make and it always comes out great! Thank you for posting this!
This is my go-to recipe for making Italian bread. It always turns out perfect. My laptop gets a bit dusted with flour as it plays your video, each time I make this bread. Thank You
I made this recipe about 4 days ago using high gluten flour and 1/2 packet of rapid-rise yeast. It was delicious and the best Italian/French bread I have tried to date. However, I have read that stickier (higher water content) doughs rise better and give a larger, airier crumb texture. (1) Have you tried making this with more water? (2) Have you tried longer rise times? (I used a large bread loaf perforated mold, which I placed on a pizza stone). Thank you for a great recipe.
This is my go to recipe for any bread! My kids love this! They even told the bakery manager to watch your video! Lol! I am attempting to master sourdough right now. Alas and alack, the flour scarcity and picky sourdough are hiccups along my path! Will power through and never give up, well, until I run out of flour! Lol!
Thanks sooooo much for your easy to follow directions!!! I just started making bread and kept wondering how hard would it be to make Italian bread. You make it sound so easy now I can’t wait to finish what I made the other day so I can make this!!!! Again….THANKS!!!! SO MUCH!
I have made this bread several times, with garlic and rosemary, fresh caramelized onion and wheat. Great simple bread. Try slowing the rise in a cool place for more flavor.
Never mind about type yeast question. I used instant yeast . Turned out perfect. Great recipe. I recieved thumbs up from the four i gave it to. Thank you for the hard work in making the vidio.
