Hey Joe, my name is also Joe. I am currently waiting for the Consul in San Francisco to review my application for Juris Sanguinis. It took over 3 years to get the appointment and the consulate said it would take another 6 months to a year to receive a response. My application is pretty straightforward with a couple minor name and date discrepancy typos. My grandfather hadn't naturalized yet when my mom was born so hoping they will recognize my mom's inherited citizenship and subsequently mine. 🤞🏼🇮🇹 I recently retired and hoping to live part-time in Sicily. Been there several times. Headed back for a couple months in September. Thanks for posting. Your journey has required a lot of perseverance. 👍🏼 Hope it pays off in the end.

@@salvatoreemma we watched A Home in Italy for years and David had us almost buying there. But we both just felt drawn to Sicily. My should definitely go to all those areas and decide.
Did you check the local courts. My grandparents naturalized in the county where they lived. It took me almost a year to locate these documents through a genealogist.

It’s a long process, my daughter had a lot of problems, I am an Italian citizen, everything had to be exact, they would not except Joseph as her fathers name where birth etc stated Giuseppe as our marriage certificate states Joseph etc she gave up after paying a lot , everything has to match, every little detail.
That stinks. Unfortunately you're right. It has to match. My lawyer had us sign something with all the aliases. To confirm it was all the same person. Maybe that would be an option for her.
We have a lot in common! My great grandfather and great grandmother both came from Corleone and came into the United States through New Orleans. My grandmother was born in Piana di Albanesi and never became a US citizen. Therefore, I was able to become an Italian citizen. I have an appointment at the consulate in Los Angeles to get my passport on July, 8. We need to communicate a lot more!

Thank you very much for your reply. We are looking into Agrigento area or Cefalu. We will be in Sicily from 17-24 this month. We were told that the tax code can be obtained in the US from a consulate, or does it have to be obtained while in Italy?
