I found it interesting that the recognition communication happens from the consulate before the documents are actually transmitted via PEC to the comune. I was always under the impression they transmit the documents to the comune AND THEN inform the applicant. Great video giving full transparency of the process.

The Philadelphia consulate has just begun approving applicants on the same day of their appointment!

My appointment at the Consulato in Los Angeles was in September 2022. It was the first available appointment and I made it 3 years earlier in June of 2019- before the pandemic. In late 2021, the Consulate notified me that an in-person appointment was no longer necessary and the application could be sent by mail. The appointment date became the deadline for submission. Since I live in LA, and I wanted to explain some of my documents, I went to the consulate with my application on the date of my appointment anyway. The security guard was very nice, but I wasn’t allowed inside and had to leave my application in a drop box downstairs in the mail room 😢

So what your saying is that since my documents were received at the Miami consulate on Sept 2nd, chances are that they reviewed the documents and found no discrepancies. The only snag is with my grandfather Americanizing his first name that you had brought to light that they might question. We are all hoping for a speedy approval

Mailing in the application to the Miami consulate might be a little different, Louis. How I took it, it's rare after an actual appointment for the clerk that processes the application to have additional questions, but since it's mailed in ... it could be a little different or possibly have a higher chance of being questioned after being "received". (btw I also mailed in my application to the Miami consulate lol - good luck to us both!)

Maybe in a future Video You can Explain the 7% Flat Tax so there is No Misunderstanding about their Tax Burden between Italy and the United States or whichother Country Taxes their Forign Citizens. Since unfortunatly there are some that think that All they will have to pay is JUST 7% of their Earnings from whichever sources.

If going through with a 1948 case where Your Documents physically go to Italy so a Judge looks at them then will the Documents Physically go and stay in the Commune or will they be sent back to the Applcant in their Home Country?

What happens if the name was "translated" once they migrated to the US? Do I need to request to fix all the documents for all the descendants? Or is there a document that I can get to show the change?
