I saw that and thought "How on earth can anyone fix that?" The people who made it and owned it back in the 1920s never dreamed that a hundred years in the future someone would restore this fixture to its original beauty so patiently and meticulously. Wonderful to watch!
Beautifully done restoration and really enjoyed watching you bring this neglected chandelier back to life. Glad this came up as a suggested video for me--it was a pleasure to watch (and thank you for not adding unnecessary music!)
Beautiful cleaning and restoration. Congratulations. In Bermuda I bought a house with ugly wooden wall light sconces and which I replaced with brass fixtures with glass "hurricane" glasses. Knowing how humid and salty Bermuda's atmosphere is I sprayed the brass parts with lacquer before installation, and they kept their shine like new.
I would like to thank you all for your comments, praise and feedback. However, it is impossible for me to respond to each of you individually, and so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your support. I do appreciate it so much! I am currently working on a new video; it will show you a renovation of an antique lamp. Look out for it, it is worth it, I promise! Thank you a lot once again and see you at the new video. So glad to hear we are to get another video! Hope it comes soon, and that there are many more of them! I've just stumbled across your RU-vid channel, and this is video gold. Keep the videos coming!
Are we all heading back to the days when I adults were little kids? Right now, what I have in mind was that when my parents took me to their friends' house. I saw these prunes: in their friends' house. Her house was a farm. She had 2 German shepherds with her is what it looked like. I also still possess the memory of when l saw this artichoke hopper: on highway one. This freeway leads to San Francisco. This was something my father's cousin Denise may have owned. 🛣 🚜
This was a beautiful lighting fixture in disrepair, so I know why you choose it - Not even half way thru video & my jaw dropped ; can’t wait to see final outcome. Wow, most awesome, satisfying result - 👍🏽 Incredible - !
Project came out stunning ! Absolutely beautifully done, but sadly,ONLY if you're only watching as an observer, not somebody who was looking to redo their own, since you give 0 help on things like.. what dipped in( 1st bath), grade sandpaper used, products used on drum sander, what to do if adding modern code grounding wire doesn't now fit in arms, etc, etc. It would have been great to just add those elements in text,( or even listed steps, with detail under description section on vid) & wouldn't have messed it up for people only watching to marvel at your mad restoration skills, but would greatly help the rest of,so we could do this too :) I watched because I was looking for details on how to restore a now sad looking 8 generation old 12 arm brass & copper chandelier.
Absolutely lovely restoration of this classic light. You can be pleased to hear that this was my first of you videos and if this is a sampling of your work I will be a long time viewer. Thanks for sharing. 😁👍👍🇨🇱🇺🇸
This video is interesting but not of any help when it comes to how to clean light that is in the condition that this was ; what did you soak the pieces in or your process? Thanks in advance
lovely lovely work!!! maybe next time do turn on the lamp so we can see the "whole" thing!!! You work in a very interesting and nice way, you make it interesting.
Excellent restoration. I'm curious as to why you painted the inside of the reflectors rather than polishing them; would it have caused odd light reflection if polished?
