This Italian Palazzo from the 1800's was once owned by a royal family. It needs a full restoration as you will see in the video but has some beautiful features.

restoration will cost a lot more then the house itself, everything needs to be done all over again, probably full of mold and rats

Fantastic place, would need a good 200,000 more on top of the asking price for a roof replacement and all the ceilings and floors would basically need replacing - and if they have a listed status where you have to restore the original tile floors in the rooms with damage you can double that.

@@ouritalianadventures6190 you are much too conservative in your estimate. There is water damage in the ceilings of 2 rooms where it fell on the floor, plus you hadn’t been to see all of it. These days getting supplies is difficult and time consuming, sadly. Still, from what was shown could be very grand once again but hat person would need very deep pockets.

Absolutely love it! This is what I’ve been looking for, however not as much for the project but the character. I’m curious if the contract stipulates a specific timeframe for repairs after it’s purchase as I’d need some time to get it back into a habitable state.

I agree but that's what they were calling it. A lot of rooms weren't safe to go into so we only say pieces of the palazzo.

I am torn on the old Villas....the history is amazing as is the architecture. My issue is that with really old buildings like this, the thickness of walls for fortification makes things so "tight" in there I don't know if my claustrophobia would let me live there. So much potential in this though!

It's not as easy as in the states. Most jobs are done independently not under one contractor like in the US. From my experience here so far. The realtor mentioned that the owners got an estimate of $40k to make it liveable but that must just be very basic. Maybe reach out to the realtor in the link and she can get more quotes.

I don't know it exactly how long since someone lived there but I would imagine it was at least 20 years. I loved the wash basin. That was very common for washing clothes. I just saw a new modern version of the sink that does the same thing so it's still a concept here for washing clothes.

I'm not sure since I've never done this level of restoration in Italy but I would guess around $150,000 but it all depends on what you would want to do.

Per rimettere in piedi un palazzo ridotto in simili condizioni ci vorranno come minimo 200000 euro più 30000 (che ripeto non vale nemmeno 5000 euro per come è ridotto) un totale di 230000 euro. Un vero furto. Altro che meno di 30000 euro.

THAT HOUSE HAS TAKEN MORE THAN JUST A LITTLE BIT OF A BEATING,. IT'S A DISASTER THAT WOULD TAKE AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY TO MAKE IT LIVABLE AGAIN. I WOULD NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THE AGENT OR PERSON MAKING THIS VIDEO AND SHOWING SUCH A MESS.
