The inspirations are coming full circle. Star Wars was inspired by Sanskrit and Buddhism. Ahsoka comes from the Indian Emperor Ashoka. Anakin literally comes from the name Aniket, which means he, whose home is the world. Ki-adi Mundi comes from the word mundi which literally means head (ironic huh). Yoda comes from the word Yodha which means warrior in Hindi. Shaak Ti translates to shakti which means power. A lot of the ideas of the Jedi are straight Buddhism which at this point isn’t just India but originates from India. In Tales of The Jedi, Ahsoka’s village had so many Indian named characters like Gantika, who also had an Indian accent. The force is the same as Brahman, the one true God that resides in everything, the one that works mysteriously. And now this movie is an imagined continuation of the Hindu Historic Epic Mahabaratha. Mahabaratha took place some 7,300 years ago according to Hindu scriptures, during this war Aswathama, one of the warriors, was cursed by Lord Vishnus 8th avatar, Krishna, with a painful immortal life because he kills an unborn child. This Aawathama lays in hidding for many thousands of years in wait for Lord Vishnus next avatar to be born as Kalki, the 10th Avatar who will reincarnate on earth in the future to destroy all evil, bringing in a new age. Buddha is believed to be the 9th avatar of Vishnu, who already came and passed. The movies setting takes place in this future where everyone is awaiting for Kalki to be born. EDIT: Changed Mahabharata age from 12,000 years ago to roughly 7,300 years ago

Dune 2 visual effects company dneg worked on it. Dune itself doesnt cost as much as marvel but ten times better because these guys are best in the game.

@1:53 sir it's not Lord Shiva but Lord Vishnu who took side of the Pandavas in Mahabharata, from where Ashwatthama's character in here comes from. But interestingly Ashwatthama is not from Pandavas but Kauravas (the opposite side) who's been cursed to stay alive until Kalki reborns in Kalyug (basically the main story here) and he helps him to restore dharma (righteousness). Although one thing that's even more fascinating is that Ashwatthama is an avatar of Lord Shiva. 🙏

Also this movie is inspired from a real life Gurkha Soldier named Vishnu . Last year this movie was showed in fantastic festival in USA and got a standing ovation. USA lions gate entertainment company bought the right to distribute it in USA and UK. Also do more Indian movie trailer reaction.

Amitabh Bachchan is playing Ashwatthama, the son of Drona in the Mahabharata (around 7000 years back) who was cursed by God Krishna with painful immortality for his attempt to kill Uttarā's (Arjun's daughter-in-law) unborn child. Aswathama is one of the 9 Chiranjeevi (immortals). All 9 Chiranjeevi, including Hanuman ji, will assist Kalki in the war against evil at the end of Kaliyug. Kalki/Kalkin is the God Vishnu's final avatar (incarnation) which will be technologically advanced riding on white mystical horse with lighting sword in hand. The last Avtar was God Krishna.

So by this means this movie is the true and authenticated content on our culture as per our history and ancient scriptures. We r late, Hollywood is the first to make movies on our culture. Because at that time our film makers were busy making social media movies.
